The Angel Lieutenant said nothing. He locked eyes with me instantly, testing me, wondering why fear was absent in my gaze. Little did he know that I had lain with another man, and was not about to let him have me so freely.

I got into character immediately. A stare of defeat and listlessness flooded from me, and I could practically feel his desire for me grow. I acted as if I had expected this, only tensing a little when he stepped toward the bed, where I lay.

The soldier removed his tunic, and roughly positioned himself over me, his thighs forcing my legs apart. I turned my head to the side, and shut my eyes.

“You think you are such a vagabond…” he sneered, throwing my arms over my head and pinning them to the pillow. He did this with more aggression than I had prepared for, and I grunted a reply. He started massaging me, and I fought the urge to squeal for help.

“No one would hear you anyway,” he promised, letting go with one hand, unbuttoning his trousers. My heart pounded in anticipation, when the moment became real.

Jyrki tapped into his beloved’s mind behind the ovens. Her signals were stimulated and distracted, but he soon pushed through. He shut his eyes, and saw what was happening. Enraged and dangerous, he looked about his surroundings. None of the other workers were out of doors, and he ran into the backwoods, through the darkness and rain. Breaking whatever branch came in his way, he sprinted perilously.

The Lieutenant lowered his head, and smelled my neck. I was grateful it wasn’t the side with the Ankh marking, and gulped. His hands found their ways to my hips, and he prepared to hoist up my skirt.

“You mustn’t,” I whimpered, causing him to eye my face with rage.

“How dare you speak?” he demanded, the shock of my voice causing him to loosen his grip on my arms. “Disrespectful little-”

I lunged forward, and sunk my teeth into his carotid artery with all of my strength. A small cry left his lips for a short second; his eyes turned red. I was terrified, but let my fangs pierce his flesh, and his essence nourish me.

His blood was delicious, and he throbbed and flopped to get me off. He, being a taut and tall man, was painfully heavy, and I desired to let go so I could relax after some minutes. But I resisted, and drank from him as quickly and efficiently as I could. This was the best meal I had had in ages.

He was dead and bloodless within ten minutes, and I threw his limp body off of me. Shaking, I wiped my mouth and turned him over on his stomach, so the pleasant onlooker to his bedroom would think he was asleep. I pulled the covers over him, and looked out the window frantically. The skies were black, the rain was piercing, the Infernal heavens swirling with angry clouds. I ran to the sill.

I had failed to realize that there were strong ivy vines on the stone walls. I had another chance at escape.
