Chapter 7 : \\How To Save A Life.Part.Four.Finale//
I looked up, it was just Kaleb, who seemed to be running to me. I got up from the swings and greeted him.
[I looked everywhere for you]
He panted. I grinned at him
[Why? Did you need me for something?]
I asked, sitting back down onto the swings again.
[I just wanted to tell you that I decided not to do it. I was being too selfish and never thought about the others around me,]
It's good that you thought about that before hand. Hah...you don't want to make the same mistake as I did,]
I said.
[So...why?]
He asked after a moment of silence. I grinned at him
[Why what?]
I asked back. He gulped before starting again
[Why'd you do it?]
I shrugged and sighed.
[Because I'm twisted,]
[So what's your name? I never asked,]
He asked, facing me and looking in my eyes as if searching for something.
[My name?]
He sighed and glared at me playfully
[WHy do you always repeat what I say?]
He asked, slightly annoyed.
[Alright, alright alright....don't laugh ok? I'm Bleu.]
He stared at me confused.
[Huh? What do you mean? You're blue? Are you sad?]
He asked. I shook my head and laughed.
[No, I'm Bleu. Spelt B-L-E-U]
I explained.
[Hey! That's so cool! It's like a colour!]
He said, happy at the sound of my name. I laughed and rubbed his shoulder before leaning my head on it.
[Thanks, my father named me,]
I replied.
[You loved him, didn't you?]
He whispered sadly. I nodded and sighed. For the rest of the day, we talked about our problems until evening came.
[That was really helpful, thanks,]
Kaleb began. I got up and stretched.
[You better go home now. Your mother might be worried about you,]
I replied. He agreed.
[Yeah, I will. Uhh.....where are you going to now?]
He asked.
[I'm a ghost, I can go anywhere, I don't have a home. I just wander around,]
I replied. He looked at me worriedly.
[Then...]
[I'll just go now. Take care Kaleb,]
I interrupted.
[No! Wait! If you don't have a place to go, then why not stay with me?]
He offered.
[It's ok Kaleb. I don't want to disturb your family any more then I have,]
I replied.
[Then...does this mean....I won't see you again?]
He asked. I shrugged.
[I don't know,]
[But I want to be with you. You make me feel relaxed and wanted,]
He exclaimed
[If it kills you that badly, I don't mind but please, don't tell your parents about me,]
[Why not? They might like you,]
He relpied. I shook my head lightly.
[No, because I don't want to leave an imprint of my existance in their lives.]
I replied. Kaleb looked unhappy, his sorrow seemed to attach onto me.
[Please Bleu. Stay with me, and I promise I don't tell my parents about you,]
He begged. I couldn't help but give in.
[Promise you won't?]
I asked, hoping that he wouldn't.
[I promise,]
And with that, we made our way towards Kaleb's house. The shouting still hadn't stopped. The neighbours became curious about what's going on.
[I'm so sorry Bleu. They'll shut up soon enough when we have dinner,]
Kaleb sayd with a sigh as we walked up tohis room. I went over to his desk and found a photoframe on it, inside was a picture of him and an older girl.
[Cute isn't she?]
He asked, gathering his clothes for a shower. I agreed; they both looked cute together.
[Your girlfriend?]
I asked, taking it off the table and into my hands. Kaleb managed to laugh a little.
[No, actually...she's uhh...my sister,]
He replied. I stopped and touched her delicate face.
[She...]
[Died, I know. I saw her with you at the park,]
I interrupted.
[Was she with me?]
He asked in surprise. I looked up and saw her standing behind him. I smiled.
[She's here with you now,]
I replied. Kaleb turned to see nothing.
[She's there, I can see her. She wants you to know that she loves you,]
I began as Kaleb's sister began speaking to me.
[Tell him that I'm always there for him, and that I don't want to see him joining me at this age,]
[She's always there by your side Kaleb, she doesn't want to see you with her at such a young age. You are never alone,]
I said, on behalf of Tessa.
[Thanks Bleu. Tessa, I love you too, you'll laways have me as a brother.]
As I wrote this story, I, Bleu, began to learnt the difficulties of having a cold family. Although I was selfish, I managed to save another selfish person like me
I am Bleu, the ghost of all minds that have the thoughts of suicide. I'm angry I couldn't save myself but twice as happy to save a life of another. I changed Kaleb's life, but I couldn't change that attitude of his.
Kaleb died later on that day due to a car accident on the road. The accident left him in a critical condition in hospital where an ICU was assigned to him. I saw his death coming but no matter how much I liked him, a ghost can never save the life of a human.
Seeing Kaleb suffer in hospital really hurt me. Eventually, kaleb asked for his death and I granted it. I pulled off his life support system and too him up in my arms.
for you are with me now.
