Isabeau’s POV..::..
Connor woke up around eight, August came down a few minutes later, Justin had woken up about an hour earlier and had made breakfast, apparently he knew how to cook.
My mom had left with my brother last night before anything had happened, they hadn’t said good bye to me. It made me sad, apparently they were going to visit family in California, they had been planning it for a while, I was supposed to go with them, but plans changed.
We didn’t know what to do after everyone was up and had eaten. The only people that weren’t at my house were Jake, Adien, and Christie, they had gone to the twins house for the night.
Brent had called them, and Jake came over not long later, but apparently Adien and Christie went to a diner for breakfast.
“I want to go somewhere, anywhere, I just want out of the house.” I said while we were cleaning up the kitchen.
August nodded in agreement.
“Well, I don’t live around here, and you two are kind of limited on the things you can actually do, so, I don’t know.” Justin was trying to pick fried eggs off the pan.
“hmm, what to do, what to do.” Connor looked around a drawer and got out a pad of paper.
He jotted down some scribbles, tore the page off and stuffed it down his imaginary bra. He handed me the pad of paper, I sighed, I couldn’t think of anything.
‘Go to every McDonald’s we pass from here to Seattle and take pictures with the cashiers, then send them to Sean to show him what he’s missing.’ I needed two more.
‘Take the bus, getting off at the next stop, doing what ever is the closest entertaining thing to the stop, then get back on before the next one leaves.’
‘Road trip, to anywhere, it has to take all day, to get there and back, doing random stuff, and taking all dares given at any moment.’
They all included travel, I couldn’t think of anything else.
I tore the page off and put it down Connor’s shirt handing the pad to Sean, he did the same and we passed it around having to explain the rules to Justin, Brent, and Jake, until everyone was finished.
“Okay then, dear lady luck, you get the first draw.” August pulled out a piece of paper, without reading it she crumpled it up.
Sean did the same, so did I, and everyone, Connor pulled out the last piece of paper from his shirt, “okay first to hear the losers.”
August was first, “Okay, I got, skinny dipping, strip poker, and video games, strip version of course. Nice you guys, very mature.”
Connor shrugged, “I had to try.” She gasped and punched him in the shoulder, I smiled.
Sean was next, “And I’ve got, go to all the parks with in the area to climb things, dig random holes in peoples yards saying we were looking for treasure, and ask random people about the meaning of life and how that would relate to the shape of a banana.”
I laughed, “Well, then. I’ve got, Go to the movies, kick everyone out of an arcade, because there’s a lot of us and we take up all the machines, and a hang out at a day club.”
Jake, “I guess it’s my turn, I have; get a lot of pizza and just walk around with it without sharing, rent a lot of scary movies, and play games we just made up for cash.”
Justin was already reading his, Brent elbowed him, “Oh, yeah, um, I got go in two different cars going around town taking pictures of ourselfs in either other peoples bathrooms or public ones whoever has the most wins, go to Sean’s diner and just sit down ordering things pretending he wasn’t there, and stalk them pretending we couldn’t hear him whenever he told us to go away.”
I liked that one. I hoped brent had mine, I didn’t actually want to do any of mine.
“And I have, It’s national doughnut day so we should do to dunkin’ doughnuts and try to haggle the price of single doughnuts, give doughnuts out to random people to see if they actually eat doughnut that random people gave them off the street, And go to peoples houses and inform them about national doughnut day and ask them why they do not have a national doughnut day flag up.”
That left mine, Connor asked for a drum role, no one did so, so he just read them, “I and the three top choices are: A. Go to every McDonald’s we pass from here to Seattle and take pictures with the cashiers, then send them to Sean to show him what he’s missing. B. Take the bus, getting off at the next stop, doing what ever is the closest entertaining thing to the stop, then get back on before the next one leaves. And C. Road trip, to anywhere, it has to take all day, to get there and back, doing random stuff, and taking all dares given at any moment.”
“I vote for modification, a mixture of A, C, the showing up and Sean’s Diner, the celebration of national doughnut day, playing games we made up for cash, and digging for treasure.” I liked them all.
Connor nodded his approval, “I favor of A?” no votes, “B?” no votes, “C?” Nothing, “Modification?” Everyone said ‘I’.
I smiled, “So, first to the diner, before they have time to finish, I’ll explain the rest of the plan there.”
