You ran to the doors of Asuka‘s house, ‘Dumb Kaworu’ you thought to yourself as you reached the door. You stopped and looked behind you, Asuka’s bedroom door was opening and you saw Kaworu walk out. You turned and started running out the doors, you heard him call your name but you kept running in the till you reached the elevator. You jammed your finger against the down button, and waited until the doors opened, when they did Shinji was walking out. “Shinji.” you said quietly as you walked past him, tears streaming down your cheeks.

“What’s wrong Cassie?” he asked walking back into the elevator with you. You pressed number 1, then door close.

“Kaworu.” You said wiping your eyes.

“He likes you, you know that right? You don’t hav-”

“He likes YOU idiot…he’s gay…and we just…” you started crying again.

“He used to like me, Not anymore. Kaworu’s crazy about you, he told me himself.”

You smiled and looked at Shinji. “Yeah.” you said feeling better, not for long though, “But he WAS gay, and it’s not like he can just drop the feelings for you, like that.” you said snapping your fingers. The elevator door opened and you and Shinji walked out and sat on the bench next to it. The doorman waved at you and Shinji and you waved back. “He’s a fag.” you said sadly looking at your hands.

“But he likes you now, don’t judge him on what he used to like, as long as he likes you now, that’s all that matters.” Shinji said nicely.

You closed your eyes and thought for a second. ‘Shinji’s right, I can’t do that to Kaworu if he’s really serious about me’ You opened your eyes and saw Kaworu sitting in front of you, his face inches from yours.

“Cassie, I want to talk to you.” he whispered looking at Shinji. Shinji nodded and got up and went back into the elevator.

“No, Kaworu, I need to talk.” you said firmly. Kaworu nodded, a little shocked, and sat where Shinji was seconds before. “Kaworu, I have liked you for like…ever.” you said finally admitting it to him. “When Asuka said you were gay…I was hurt…because I always looked up to you…you were always so calm in whatever you did, and you didn’t care what other people said…and you were the most beautifule person…” you paused and looked away. “I never thought you’d be gay…and when I learned that you liked me…” you felt your eyes tear up again. “I love you.” you whispered not able to continue on what you were saying. You felt his arms wrap around you, and pull you tight.

“I love you too.” he said. He grabbed your shoulders and made you look at him. You wiped your tears away, so you could see clearly, an he began talking. “Cassie, I id have feelings for Shinji, at a time. But not anymore, I’m not gay. I never will be gay…not when I have a girl like you.” he said kissing your forehead.
