Yes yes yes, I’m fully aware I shifted the whole seasonal timeline of the original Bleach story line to my time, because I had ideas for this story, and it required shifting it a little. ;3 Besides it is my story, I can change it to suit my tastes.

Chapter eleven ~*~
Golden rays shining down to signal the end of your existence; death by the Sokyoku, that was what lied ahead, all of the world coming to an abrupt stand still, time moving in slow motion as the sun danced over the horizon, rather intimidating; laughing almost, even the birds were singing their haunting morning drone.
“Aww look, those bastards want to execute us, and I have no make-up to look nice on my final day.” You pouted, trying to put on a brave front to your friend who also in the same wooden boat, destined to sink.
You were actually terrified for once in your life, you didn’t want to die, not yet anyway, you told yourself over and over you hadn’t done much as of yet, not enough fights on your behalf, and then there’s always the pathetic mushy escape to well being you had contemplated; heck you would have settled for just about anything right now just to run away from what was going to and most certainly happen.
Those words of Yoruichi’s; definitely not true, you hadn’t been rescued, unbeknownst to Rukia who had managed to get to sleep the night before, a single tear was shed from your honey coloured eyes, cascading down your cheek as you accepted the fate that burdened you. It felt almost child like to cry at that moment, but completely necessary, well if you could have called it crying…
“How long do we have left?” questioning wasn’t really required since you knew exactly how long you had left; not long enough.
“I’m not sure, but we’ll know sooner or later...”
“Heh, suppose so…”
A long sigh escaped your lungs, exhaling deeply and looking towards the window it must have been late morning, almost noon, your guess; execution was to happen then.
Mentally noting it you sat down, dragging your back along the wall, still staring off into the distance beyond the window.
The last ounce of peace you would get?
No.
The doors began to open. Again you exhaled, this time trying to sooth your nerves. This was it; your final chance to escape… and there it was, that word again that drove you insane. Truth be told, you knew there were no chances of escape with the bonds drawn together by Kido, it was definitely not going to happen.
All bonds were tied to the shiny red collar around your neck, you felt like a dog awaiting a lethal injection, except dogs didn’t know what their path had in store; you had the honour of being told personally you were to be killed off without a full investigation into the murders of those people… pathetic.
Your hands were bind behind your back so no stunts could be pulled off, although you weren’t exactly going to jump with joy and do a back flip in your condition.
They forced you to be next in line, Rukia in front being shipped off to her doom. It was quite sick really, they were to execute her first so you had to watch, then again one of you had to watch, and ironically it had to be you, surely they would have been so infuriated with your ‘actions’ they would have wanted to see you die first, or there’s always that harsh reasoning of let the mentally unstable one first, if the first death is boring, this should create a good show.
“Yeah okay you ass holes don’t tug at me like I’m a freakin’ dog on a leash” this just caused them to tug even more at your outburst. Pointless banter, you weren’t just going to give up and accept it until you were face to face with the Sokyoku.
And soon enough, you were standing at the footing of the hill.
Death was so close, and yet oblivious to you, so far still…
Gathered at the foot of the hill, only a few captains and their assistants, you frantically looked around to see if your captain was among them; but he wasn’t; no where in sight. It was then you tried to search for his spiritual pressure; just as you thought, fighting, again.
Who were you kidding; this man clearly didn’t care, he was practically emotionally retarded.
You watched silently as Rukia stood on the wooden decking, almost as if were a stage, again that sickened feeling roaming in your stomach at why they would make it out to be some theatrical play, those high up in society pay to see with their golden rimmed spectacles.
This wasn’t a god forsaken theatre production.
Her face looked calm, no resent for what was to happen, pretty sad really, she could just let go at a time like this, well then again, what could you do?
A sense of impotence, and insignificance, it was horrible.
You didn’t want to watch what was about to happen.
Listening to her soft subtle voice as she requested no harm was to be inflicted on the Ryoka.
You looked away in disgust; her arms had been broken free from the binding spell only to be forced outwards, like a magnet to the flesh.
Her time was almost up, and you were next.
Your heart began to beat irregularly in your chest, those words of Yoruichi’s circling around your head, there wasn’t going to be a great escape from this one, not this time.
Another memory flashed by, hey it wasn’t even a split second before your death yet and already you were having flash backs; the night in which you had the best fight your life had to offer, and how you wouldn’t have minded dying at the hand of a certain person, one that wasn’t even here to witness your death.
Heat surrounded the air, consuming it; the seal had been broken and fire began to rush upwards, spiralling, dancing up the wooden pole into the form of a phoenix, golden flames extravagantly swaying in the light wind. To some it would have been a beautiful sight, but for the two condemned, you knew exactly what it meant.
Finally you couldn’t hold it back, you began to choke, a few tears escaping your eyes, scrunching up your face so you wouldn’t be tempted to see what was shortly going to become of you.
Gasps, sounds of shock, and some of horror, that must have been the end of her, a good friend and decent person; but still you didn’t want to look, instead trying to listen to what had to be said from the bystanders.
“He stopped it? W…Who in hell is he?”
Your muscles softened a little, you released the look of complete bitterness and took the chance to open your eyes.
Just what could they have been referring to, you were pretty sure Rukia was female; so why was there a mention of male presence in their conversation and questions?
You couldn’t help it; you looked upwards to the scene of despair, only to find indeed there was a male figure, the blade of his sword blocking the mass of fire compelled into the form of a bird.
It didn’t take long to but the facts together, it must have been Ichigo. Looks like Rukia’s knight in shining armour have come to save her, but you had no one.
With a swift movement Ichigo was now standing atop of the wooden frame, slicing his sword into the old structure, completely destroying it, fierce look of determination within his eyes, although you couldn’t exactly see form were you were stood, like an ant beneath all the happenings.
Two more captains had broke out into the open and placed a seal on the ‘Kiko oh’ forcing it to retreat back to whence it came, quite quickly as well, simultaneous to the destruction of the platform on top of the frame.
How ironic…your former captain was amongst the two to help out, along with Rukia’s captain.
“Looks like we got here just in time, Katsumi-chan good to see you again~” Kyouraku was slapped over the head by his white haired companion.
“This is no time for reunions!” He barked at the fool, who used to be your captain. You were quite happy to see him; he had just hopefully saved your life after all.
A sudden burst of red caught your attention; displaying two things; the flying of blood and the bright colour of Renji’s hair, he had cut down the guards who tried to keep him from the area, knowing his intentions quite clearly.
A feel of slight jealousy within your heart knowing these people had gone through all of that just to recue Rukia, not even giving you so much of a glance apart from one certain captain in a rather feminine piece of attire, then again he would give anyone of the opposite sex a thorough look over, no matter what the situation.
Shouting from all of the by standing captains at Renji and Ichigo, all hell was about to break loose; Rukia was thrown into Renji’s arms, and the two of them making a quick escape from the onslaught that may occur in the next few minutes if said red head was to be captured, you however were still being guarded, Kido still enveloping your hands behind your back, but a sudden break caused confusion to clog your brain cells.
“Execute the other prisoner!” the shout of an angry old man, pointing towards you, his voice as sharp as a katana, one that people wouldn’t dare disobey.
Your heart sank even lower, an anticipating wrench twisting your chest, almost as if your heart hung itself with your veins.
Closing your eyes, and waiting for the contact of a blade to slice your throat.
The noise of a knife to flesh sounded all too close to your ears for your taste, but no feeling of pain shot through you, so you guessed it was someone being cut down near you, but the only forms of those surrounding you were the guards, maybe a few advancing officers ready to kill you; a flash of white fabric caught in the wind blocked your view, the ends of the material hopelessly shredded.
A tight grip around your waist, you could no longer feel the floor beneath you as you were violently slung over a broad shoulder, not able to see his face, the whole movement was far too quick for you to comprehend anything at all apart from the obvious slaying of guards.
One clear sound making it obvious as to the identity of your savoir, the gentle ring of something that sounded so seasonal, emitted from one so fierce.
