Wishing For Daylight (Vampire Romance) ~5~ [Hallucinating Non-Hallucinations]
Chapter 1 : Wishing For Daylight (Vampire Romance) ~5~ [Hallucinating Non-Hallucinations]
That boy, he was strange…. “Alice, it’s me, again. Call me back.” “Alice….” “Darling? Home yet?” Matt’s eyes snapped open, hearing voices near his front door. He dared to not breathe, automatically readying his fangs to sprout through his gums. “Not sure, but people claim that a phantom resides in its contents.” “Suit yourself, ma’am. But don’t complain later on….” Matt levitated to his feet with ease, gliding like a shadow towards the door. He peered through the peephole, he swallowed seeing fiery red hair, then a blue eye trying to peer through it at the same time. He jumped back, hearing the key slip into keyhole and twisting it urgently. He ducked behind chairs, seeing the door fling open, slapping against the peeling paint on the wall. She stepped in, staring around until she fully ventured inside. He recognized her as the girl from before. Her high heels clicked when she walked; he shut his eyes to make sure that she couldn’t feel him watching her. She went straight to the bedroom, but she never turned on the lights, nor did she open the curtains. That was strange, especially for a human. Her eyes narrowed in on the messy blankets on the bed, and the indents of a head in the pillows. But she did not scream, nor did she question herself out loud; she merely walked out, her long hair flowing behind her as she finally closed the door and locked it.
The clicking of her heels echoed through the dormitory, making her way back to her assigned room.
Did he think she did not see what he had done? He had bitten the man. Bitten him as if he was some sort of chew toy!
She placed her key in the door hole before twisting it to the right, she entered quietly, locking it behind her person. She checked her answering machines messages….
“Hey, Alice, it’s Bryan…. You haven’t called me back in a while, please, call….”
Alice groaned, aggravated at this mans persistence. She had gone out with him for a couple of months, but he has become too clingy for her taste.
She thought of the boy she had seen from before. Such speed and coordination for an average human being….She turned to look out of her window before heading back down to the school. She never had much sleep anymore. All she did was wander around through the night, and when daybreak came she would eat and shower, then head back down to school. It never seemed to affect her, at least she thought it didn’t. Now that she had seen him she wasn’t too sure.
“Maybe it didn’t even happen….” But she doubted it greatly.....
“Does someone even live here?”
Matthew was called a phantom now? Maybe that was better then hiding. People would be afraid to venture inside, not unless you had a death wish.
“I seriously doubt there is a ghost.” It was a woman’s voice; stern but polite.
That was the man that ran the apartment complexes. It seems someone was going to rent this room... his room.
Matthew breathed out in relief before standing to his feet. Only then did he remember that he didn’t feel sick anymore. It seemed that the drugs had worn off-- thank god.
But, what exactly did that woman want?
