Chapter 2 : DBSK(Yoochun) FanFic-I Didn't Know You Could See Me(p2)-Are You Really Here?
Alright! This is the second part of my DBSK fanfic. Sorry it took a while to get this up; I don't have an excuse, except procrastinating in fear that this part would not be good enough. Our story is continuing as Sun-ye runs into Yoochun again. Anyway, please read it, enjoy, and comment all you like.
-Are You Really Here-
With the concert over, Sun-ye sat back in the hotel at the dinner table with Nim over two much enjoyed bowls of thick soba noodles floating in a rich beef broth.
Usually, during a tour there was no hotel to go back to after a show. Usually, after a show everyone scurried as fast as possible to the next train station or airport to be on their way to the next city. However, given that this particular tour was to be so long, it had been decided early on that half way through there would be a two week break for all the members and staff. The break would be used to make sure all the equipment was operating properly and running through the routines so that the dancers operated properly.
So, there sat the two friends, eating quietly. Sun-ye was glad for the lack of conversation; it gave her a chance to go over what had happened between her and Yoochun. Had that really happened? She was standing there, waiting to go on for the second act like she had done countless times before. And never during any of those times had she even seen Yoochun, much less encountered him. Standing there, soft supple fingers grazed the back of her neck; a deep sweet voice spoke to her. She felt a chill run through her body. Turning around, she had fallen into those velvetine eyes and felt a sudden warmth suffuse her body when he smiled.
His words to her were jumbled now in her mind, though; she could not recall them properly. The only words she remembered distinctlywas his saying he had been glad to see her. I'm glad I saw you. A strange, hot light danced in his eyes. At least, that was what Sun-ye thought. At that point, pyrotechnics were exploding on the stage and it could just have been the reflection in his eyes. Besides, there had been no time to linger and find out; the signal went off and they had to go.
A sigh escaped her.
"Sun-ye?"
It was Nim. Sun-ye looked up. Concern was on her friend's face. Sun-ye offered a smile.
"I'm quiet tonight, aren't I?"
"Yea. Are you okay? I mean, you seemed to be in such a rush when the show was over; you didn't even take down your hair."
Sun-ye reached up and touched the bun, still tight from Yoochun's hands.
"Okay, look, here's what happened," began Sun-ye suddenly," And I don't even understand it."
She went over all that had happened between her and Yoochun.
Nim's eyes were wider than the soup bowl when she finished. "Whoa. No wonder you didn't take your hair down. I wouldn't either. Gosh, Sun-ye. Yoochun?"
"But I mean," protested Sun-ye, "he never noticed me before. I didn't even think he knew my name. Come on, Nim, help me. You're there, every night before the show in the dressing room. Have you ever seen anything?"
"Not really."
"Yea, why should you." A knowing smile spread over Sun-ye's mouth. "You take longer with Changmin than any of the other boys."
"Not fair! I have to be very careful when I do his make-up. He's so manly, I don't want to hide that with too much make-up."
"Oh, yeah. I'm sure that would be my first concern too."
Nim laughed. "Well, I tell you what, I'll keep my eyes peeled from now on. Now, tomorrow you have rehearsal, right?" Sun-ye nodded. "I won't be there then, but afterwards, I'll scope things out for you."
"Thanks. Make me feel like maybe I'm not crazy."
And their conversation drifted into other topics.
The rule for rehearsals was, hurry up and wait. Sun-ye had raced out the door that morning, ran all the way to the stadium, burst in out of breath and had been told to sit till she was called. So, for the last two hours, she had been doing just that. Waiting. Doing nothing. She lay on the floor, back against the farthest wall. The entire company had been called for today; apparently, the choreographer thought everyone was getting sloppy. Right now, some of the other dancers were warming up till things really got moving. Yet, given that the boys, themselves, were not here, nothing important was going to happen.
When they did walk in, however, it was like a spark. Suddenly, everybody lit up and rehearsal was in motion.
Sun-ye hardly dared look at Yoochun. She did not want to know if he was looking at her; or worse, if he did not see her at all. So, the girl kept her head down, determined not to move till her name was called.
But it happened sooner than she expected. The choreographer called all dancers for "O." Sun-ye stood up, and took her position in the back.
"Hang on a sec." It was Yoochun. Sun-ye looked. He was talking to the choreographer. But even though his attention did not seem to be on her at all, she started to shiver.
"I think," he was still talking,"there's something wrong with this formation. All the taller dancers are in front. You can't see anyone in back. Like Sun-ye. She's dancing really well, and no one will ever see it."
The girl stopped breathing. Yoochun turned to her. "Sun-ye," he said," come over here, behind me. This is your new spot for O."
Sun-ye knew that she heard him, knew that she walked over to him, but she felt like she was in some kind of bubble where nothing was real. She faltered for words.
A-are you sure you want me here?"
"You know the dance sequence, right?"
She was not sure what he meant. Of course she knew the steps to O.
Yoochun smiled. "I mean this part." He grabbed both of Sun-ye's hands and put them around his chest.
As if touched by an electric spark, Sun-ye jumped. The dance sequence he meantwas the one where the back-round dancers put their arms around the boys during the instrumental portion of the song.
Gasping for breath, standing there with her arms around Yoochun, feeling his body next to her, against her, Sun-ye tried to answer.
"Y-y-yes. I know it."
"Good," he replied. "Then you're herewith me."
Endofpart2.
