“Where do ya think she’s headed?” Kuwabara asked his teammates anxiously.
“Far away from here” Yusuke stated sarcastically from beside him.
“We won’t find out till we do find her” Kurama said.
He turned to Hiei; “Hiei please use your Jagan eye, it will be the easiest-
“I refuse” Hiei cut him off turning away from the group and walking out of the store, outside into the pouring rain.
“ You’re the one who made her all upset!” Kuwabara exclaimed, before the door closed after Hiei.
Hiei either didn’t hear Kuwabara or chose to ignore him. They could see him jump up lightly into the air and then disappear in a black flash-- too fast for the naked eye to lock on.
“I hate that guy” Kuwabara stated truthfully.
“In other matter’s” Kurama sighed while saying.
“The most swift and easy way to find Yuna is to split up”
“But it’s pouring!” Yusuke whined looking outside at the heavy shower.
A blaring clap happened to arrive just as he stated the words.
“So getting a little wet means more to you then your summoner?” Kurama asked plainly.
Yusuke seemed not to be expecting Kurama to say those words; he stood with his mouth open for a full moment before clearing his throat and regaining his ability to speak.
“I didn’t exactly ask to get a s-so-soom-
“Summoner” Kurama said sighing.
“Yeah right, that. It was kinda forced on me by babybreath, I don’t get why-
“Fine, If that is how you feel you are worse then Hiei at this moment, and to think that Koenma placed you as her first master, if you only knew what Yuna had gone through—how much pain—you would not be saying what you are now.” Kurama spoke his voice grave.
“Whoa don’t start something Kurama, I asked you to tell me about her—but you said that we had to wait and whatever” Yusuke replied bringing up his hands.
“It wouldn’t be right to say it without Botan present, since she has studied this for months, I merely read a few documents—I don’t know the full story I can only give you small parts of it” Kurama explained suddenly looking frustrated.
“Uh guys?” Kuwabara said tensely.
They both turned to him looking annoyed.
“What?” Yusuke and Kurama said identically.
Kuwabara didn’t answer right away, instead he looked outside at the raining storm-- it was already dark.
“She must be cold…” Kuwabara stated.
Both of his remaining teammates blinked and followed his gaze to look outside the window.
Yusuke snorted before putting his hands in his pockets and turning toward the door.
Kuwabara and Kurama followed silently.
The door had just closed with a bang behind the group, when a song broke out almost as if on cue.
Kurama and Yusuke turned around confused and alarmed at the sudden high -pitched sound, the song was piercing and somehow fierce, the singer seemed to be a female.
“What the heck?” Yusuke stated twisting his head quickly to catch where the sound might be coming from.
“What is it?” Kuwabara asked lamely looking at Yusuke and Kurama’s alert expressions.
“Can you not hear?” Kurama suddenly asked surprised.
“Not really”
Kurama and Yusuke exchanged glances.
“What do you think it is?” Yusuke asked Kurama.
Kurama raised his head to look up and rain immediately filled his face forcing him to lower his gaze.
“I think… Yuna has just gone through her second memory lapse, but this time she has reached the second level” He informed them clearing his face with his hands.
“What!” Kuwabara yelled looking from Yusuke to Kurama his expression panic-stricken.
“It’s not what you think Kuwabara”
“I kinda thought it would be a bit more of a big deal” Yusuke stated turning to Kurama.
“I don’t know much about the different stages, especially Yuna’s most summoner’s don’t even have a second stage.” Kurama explained.
Yusuke sighed heavily and dropped his head for a few seconds.
He raised it again and stared at Kurama.
“So what do we do now, this song is starting to make me want to kill something”
Kurama couldn’t help letting out a smirk before answering.
“Now we head toward the sound, I can tell from my ears that it is somewhere due north”
The two nodded toward each other before running out of the parking lot and into the empty street.
“What ears!?” Kuwabara yelled before following them.
Hiei stood up on a roof as usual brooding.
He didn’t seem to acknowledge that harsh drops of rain fell on his body, drops that would make most normal people wince—had no affect whatsoever on him.
He stared out into the distance at the blaring building lights, going a bit dim because of the sudden late shower.
Hiei exhaled before lowering his hands to his knees and sitting down with them slightly raised.
He couldn’t get those words out of his head—those words that she had said, they seemed to be so sorry…so sullen, so…unlike her.
If that’s the way you feel…
He couldn’t get why he felt so guilty, and why he was only feeling this emotion around that girl.
I’m sorry for being so …
That girl…seemed so innocent.
Disappointing…
So pure…like Yukina…
He sighed.
Why did he have to think about her at a time like this, just thinking of her counseling him in this situation made him even more irritated, because he knew—if Yukina was here, she would ask him to search for the girl, and he wouldn’t be able to refuse.
Hiei allowed himself to drift off a bit, he looked out at the now empty city—his eyes unfocused and his body acting lazy.
He was feeling tired for some reason…or was that really what was wrong with him?
When he stared at the rain, did it really make him feel drowsy?
No, this was a feeling that didn’t happen often, this was a strange emotion that Hiei Jaganshi almost never experienced…
He felt….calm.
Just watching the downpour hit the edge of the roof, only a few inches from him—hearing the loud pitter patter of it hitting the metal lings outlining the building, Seeing how amazing the sky looked so gray and vacant.
And then he heard it.
Hiei stood up his senses on fire, What was this melody? It didn’t seem to be coming from a direct spot.
The city was suddenly engorged by this strange addicting melody, there was only one word that could have described it.
Breathtaking.
Hiei felt perplexed, how could this song suddenly be heard through the entire town? Wouldn’t the humans have heard? Where were the humans anyway? Was this entrancing melody made by a demon to lead the foolish beings to him?
His thoughts were cut off when he abruptly heard Kurama’s voice in his head.
“Hiei do you hear it?”
“Obviously” Hiei replied twitching, the singer had suddenly changed from female to male.
They both grew silent for a moment listening to the harmony of the man singing in an ancient language.
“I think this is the second level of one of Yuna’s memory lapses.” Kurama stated.
“What she sings?” Hiei said quickly.
“No I think these are created by Aeons” Kurama answered.
“Should I even ask?” Hiei said irritated.
“Aeon’s are the creatures that Prince Koenma has informed us of, do you recall what he said about her being able to summon strange and powerful creatures?”
“He might have mentioned it”
“Try sensing where Yuna is, I don’t think you’ll need your jagan, just run toward where the sound is coming from if you get lost.” Kurama stated.
The channel suddenly closed—and Hiei disappeared from view.

Everything was dark, completely and totally obscured.
She felt horrible.
There was this awful feeling in her gut, she couldn’t figure out what it was, but she knew one thing, she didn’t like this feeling.
It was worse then the other feeling that she had experienced.
It had happened first when Sama had yelled at her, and then once again she experienced it when her other master had grown agitated towards her.
What was his name?
“He-yay” Yuna murmured in her weak faint—
Something wet touched her pale cheek, an inhuman whine echoed close to her ear seconds after the touch.
“Sa-ma” Yuna whispered struggling to hold out her arm toward the presence of someone…or something.
Her finger twitched.
She felt so heavy, never before had she felt like this—like her body refused to cooperate, like she was only able to breath.
She didn’t understand, had she done something to take away all her strength? Had she done something bad?
A black slim paw fell unto Yuna’s chest, she shivered at the warmth.
The wise wolf Aeon looked down at Yuna’s sleeping face.
His narrow onyx eyes studied her carefully and boldly.
Then the ancient creature lowered its body slowly above Yuna’s, he covered her completely with his warmth and made sure to study her slow heartbeats closely.
Yuna felt the heat—she buried her face close to the wolf’s neck and breathed out deeply.
A silence suddenly fell.
The song ending with a shrill harmony, the wolf looked up into the heavens and the sudden black clear sky.
He looked back down, and at once, the air around them began to get sharp, leaves that littered the surrounding area of the willow rose up a few inches into the air.
The wolf’s jet black hair suddenly stuck out and he growled lowly.
He started to glow, the shine enlightened only him at first then gradually it trailed down to Yuna beneath him.
She let out a sharp intake of breath at this invisible touch.
Her heartbeat began to quicken, and her body was returning to normal temperature—
Her finger twitched then rose up, she clasped her hand into a fist determined to move—her eyes began to flutter open as the wolf bent its mouth to her face.
Hiei reappeared on a tree branch.
His eyes widened at the scene in front of him.
Just a few feet below him he could see quite closely Yuna’s fragile body under a creature.
Yuna was being eaten…by an elephantine sized wolf.
Hiei didn’t waste more than a second; he brandished his katana and let himself fall forward off the limb and toward the animal.
The beast raised its head up to stare at Hiei just before the katana was brought down on it with inhuman speed.
He was so intent on not accidently injuring Yuna he had forgotten to perfect his aim as he usually would.
In a split of a second the wolf had the metal of Hiei’s sword clenched tightly in his jaws, and Hiei had his own teeth stuck together in frustration.
Hiei raised his leg sharply and brought it down on the wolf’s head.
The wolf let out a shrill bark and released his sword, just as he thought it would.
However the creature didn’t move back from Yuna, it bent over her more securely and fixed it’s eyes on Hiei.
If it wants to die it’s not my matter, it made a mistake choosing this girl as it’s dinner. Hiei thought once again bringing up his sword over the animal.
He couldn’t help feeling though, as if he was doing something wrong.
At that instant a familiar voice yelled out toward him.
“Hiei don’t!” Botan cried.
She was high up in the air and soaring toward them quickly a familiar staff and something else indistinguishable in her hand.
The wolf seizing it’s chance at Hiei’s hesitance.
It jumped forward it’s jaws bared and a growl emitting.
It’s mouth caught Hiei’s left arm savagely.
Hiei let out a pained yell and dropped his sword, He made his hand into a fist and began to punch the wolf’s head trying to make it let go.
“Hiei!” Botan shrieked seeing the scene with horrified eyes.

First of all I’d like to say SORRY.
For taking so long I was a bit confused on what I wanted to do, because well I just thought I had to do this chapter perfect because you guys kinda gave me the impression that you didn’t like the story that much anymore, so I did my absolute best on this one…well not my best best to tell you the truth I’m kinda saving my full effort for later.
But ANYWAY I was also thinking about stopping the series for a bit, and when I tried that you guys took A WEEK to get all the rates my chapter would have usually gotten in a DAY.

Let’s not have a redo, it’s easy to just scroll up this page and rate.
You see the 5 stars? (Hopefully 5 gold stars) you just put your cursor on them and click on how many stars you wanna rate this chapter. Easy peasy. ^_^
