Where Are We???
Chapter 2 : Chapter 2: Finding Themselves
"Um, guys... is it just me, or... are we...?" Katie couldn't finish. But she didn't have to. No, she wasn't crazy.
Crap. I'm lost. she thought.
She looked around. Trees, trees, and yet more trees!
"Uh...guys?" she asked. No answer.
Oh no. where are they? ...Wait...where am I?!
She stood up and started running in no particular direction. Something caught her foot and made her stumble forward.
"Ugh... huh?" she looked over to see what had tripped her, only to find a lazy Kaitlynne sleeping on the forest floor.
"Kaitlynne! Wake up! Come on lazy! Wake up!!!" Katie rolled Kaitlynne over. Kaitlynne's eyes fluttered awake and glared up at Katie.
"What?!" she said angrily. "I was sleeping!"
"No! Really?!" she asked sarcastically. "Get up!" She helped Kaitlynne up.
"Where are we?" asked Kaitlynne.
"I don't know. Come on. We need to find Tia and Rachael," Katie said, and they started walking.

Meanwhile, Tia was going crazy.
"Oh my gawd!!! Where am I???" she kept yelling, running around streets in a strange town. After a while, she got tired, and slowed to a walk. She started looking more carefully at where she was. She noticed the streets weren't paved; they were just dirt streets, with no cars, but people walking by. Occasionally, a few people would run by, and some would be wearing blue headbands, but Tia couldn't see them well.
Wait. Those headbands... Those clothes... This can't be--an obnoxiously loud voice interrupted her thoughts.
"Another bowl of ramen! Believe it!"
No way.

Rachael had just woken.
Where am I? Everything looks so different here, wherever I am.
She sat up, and realized she was in a bed. A large, soft bed. She stood up and walked around the room that she was in.
A voice from behind the closed door startled her.
"Mom, I'm going to take a nap," said a lazy, unmotivated male voice.
What the-?! but Rachael had no time to think. The door handle was turning, and she had to act fast.
Yay. Ninja time! She found a window and slipped out, being careful to close it behind her. She was hanging from the edge when she noticed a major flaw in her plan. She was on the third floor!
Crap! What do I do? What do I do?!?!?!? She looked around frantically and found a tree a couple yards over. Another ledge of another window rested inbetween. She swung her legs to get momentum, and flung herself over, barely catching the ledge with one hand.
She dangled there for a moment, her eyes wide, thinking of what almost happened to her. She took a deep breath, then steadied herself with both hands. Again, she gained momentum and took aim at the tree. She pushed her body with as much force as she could toward the tree. But as she did, a loose nail from the building caught on her clothes, and angled her flight downward.
She tumbled down, but was surprised that her landing was a lot smoother than she thought.
"Ow. What the??? Who are you?!" said an extremely familiar voice.
She opened her tightly shut eyes, and was surprised to see someone she knew very well.
Oh my gawd!!!
Bags of chips and candy bars were stuffed carelessly into a large bag, which the person was holding.
"Uh...uh......uuuuuuuuhhhhhh...............sorry," she said quickly and ran away.
It can't be. There's no way. This isn't-

Kaitlynne and Katie ran as fast as they could through the thick forest of trees. After a while, they came to a large clearing. They saw three poles, and on the other side of the clearing was a large stone monument thingy.
They found a trail and followed it. It led to a busy village with many different looking people.
"Where are we?" said Kaitlynne, but before she could say anything else, she was knocked down by a girl running.
"Ow! Hey! What's your problem?!" Kaitlynne started yelling, then she suddenly stopped. Her eyes turned wide and a smile came across her face as she recognized who had knocked her over. "Tia!!!!!" she squealed and hugged her friend.
"Kaitlynne! Katie!!! Where are we?! Where were you?!....WHERE'S RACHAEL?!?!" she blurted out so fast it was almost impossible to understand her.
As if on cue, Rachael's psycho scream was heard down the street before her figure became visible.
"Kaitlynne! Tia! Katie!" she screamed and ran faster. She tackled the other three and gave them all hugs. "Fun hugs! Fun hugs for everyone!!!!" she yelled happily as she helped them up. A few people turned to stare at her. "NOT YOU!" she screamed.
Kaitlynne laughed. Then stopped. "Wait. We still have to find out where we are."
They ran outside and looked around. Then they ran around random streets, which they noticed were all small dirt roads.
Then they came upon a small structure from which a most delicious-smelling aroma came from.
"FOOD!" they all shouted simultaniously and ran. They ducked under signs that hung over the top of the open entrance and sat down at the long counter side-by-side. Kaitlynne and Katie sat at the sides of Rachael and Tia who were seated in the middle.
An old-looking man and a young lady came up to the other side of the counter smiling. "What would you like?"
A large growl sounded, coming from Rachael stomach. "EVERYTHING!!!!!" she cried out.
She thinks with her stomach, thought Katie.
Soon later, many bowls of ramen and other food they didn't recognize were laid out in front of them. Rachael immediately took the chopsticks set out nearby and crammed as much food in her mouth as possible. The others hesitated, but did the same.
Tia swallowed a big bite and sat up straight. "How are we going to pay for all this?" she asked with a serious face.
They all looked up with worried faces.
"Hmm... I have some money that I was going to put on my lunch account at school," Katie said, reaching in a pocket.
"I don't think American dollars work here--Rachael! What are you doing?!" Kaitlynne stopped mid-sentence to look at Rachael, who was now on the ground, underneath the chairs, on her hands and knees like a cat as if looking for something.
"What? I'm looking for money that someone might have dropped," she defended herself proudly.
Katie took out the money from her pocket and stared at it.
"Holy--guys! Guys! Look at this!" She held out her hand, which instead of holding a normal ten dollar bill, held totally different money that looked like it could now be used to buy their expensive meal.
"Yay!" Rachael started jumping up and down, and Kaitlynne joined her. Tia was still eating happily.
Katie handed the money to the people behind the counter. "Will this cover it?" she asked hopefully with a large, cheesy grin.
The people looked at the money, then at her like she was crazy. "No, I'm afraid not."
Katie let her head drop in defeat. What now?
"I'll pay," said an unexpected but familiar voice.
The four of them turned around. Tia stopped mid-bite with her mouth stuffed with food.
"You guys look new, and from the looks of it," he looked at the small amount of money in Katie's hand, "you might need a little help."
Tia's mouth dropped open even more, and all the food dropped back out into the empty bowl.
Oh.
My.
Gawd.
She was now practically face-to-face with something that only happened in her dreams.
