A Little Anarchy. You. Me. Him(The Joker)
Chapter 14 : A Little Anarchy. You. Me. Him(The Joker) 13
This chapter is a bit more light hearted and humorous than the others. I want to have a bit of a calm period for Lo before the shit starts to hit the fan.
[ Third Person]
Lo hadn't slept in a week and half.
Not that Lo wasn't used to not sleeping. She often got only three hours of sleep a day anyway. On occasion she would go three days wide awake. During those periods she would clean, draw, and do other tasks that needed to be done. However, after ten days, everything that she could do was already done.
"Come on, babe. Smile. Please?" Lo pleaded with Li as the two teens sat in Li's room. Li hadn't gotten out of bed since they're boss had carved that smile onto her face. She had lost a considerable amount of weight for such a short period of time, Lo figured this was because she hadn't eaten much of anything for a few days.
Li's condition almost directly affected Lo. Her face was ridden with worry and she too was losing weight. Originally she was 120lbs. But, now she had gone down to 109lbs. For a girl standing at only five feet and four inches this was not too good for her health, her ribs were already starting to show through her skin.
"Go away." Li sighed, turning over in her bed. Though Li probably didn't realize it, those seemingly meaningless words practically put a bullet into Lo's heart.
"Oh....uh....okay..." Lo lowered her head and sunk through the door. She twiddled her thumbs in worried haste as she walked down the hall. She hadn't noticed it till then, but her hands were covered in charcoal and paint. The same went for her pants and plain black T-shirt. When Lo was feeling any strong emotion she immediately began to draw, paint, or use her tablet. They were her outlets. Her therapy.
Her room was now littered with various drawings. Some of Li, some of her, others of Joker, and various other people. She pushed aside the art supplies that was strewn across her bed andsat down with a sad sigh.
"Get changed." Her boss ordered as he walked into her room without so much as a knock. "Cynthia is downstairs and we're going to go rob the Gotham Bank." He instructed gruffly before slamming the door shut.
Lo pulled her outfit out of the closet. It was funny. When she wasn't on the job she looked like a troubled non-conformist teen. But, when she was out and about, she dressed sharply. Her outfits were usually nineteen twenties inspired and then decorated ever so slightly with her own personal flavor.
This night's outfit was a black blouse, green tie, purple vest, purple arm bands(like those men in those swanky casinos), pinstripe slacks, and patent leather heels. Most women couldn't fight in heels. But, as her second mentor had taught her, anything a man can do a woman must learn to do backwards in a pair of pumps. Then, after the outfit was on, she applied her clown makeup, slicked her hair back, and placed a pinstripe fedora on her head.
"Looking sharp." Cynthia smiled as Lo walked into the living room.
"Thanks?" Lo said, though it sounded more like a question. She was unsure whether the older female was making fun of her or not. Either way Lo liked Cynthia, she was a good person. "Well, let's go, the boss is probably in the car already." Lo said as she slipped on her mask. When out in the day time everyone wore masks for good measure. You could never be too careful.
"It's not like him to do this in the middle of the day." Cynthia thought out loud as they waited for the elevator. "He must be low on cash."
"He wouldn't be so low if he stopped burning the damn cash!" Lo rolled her eyes as she adjusted her gun holsters. The two laughed at the comment, the elevator opening behind them as they did.
"Oh, by the way. . ." Cynthia began as she stepped into the elevator, pressing the button marked G. "When we're out call me Sin. It's kind of like my codename."
"Oh! Sounds sexy." Lo giggled doing a little pose. The two laughed, but after the giggle fit found nothing else to say.
It was in moments like these that Lo's little quirks came out.
One of them being that whenever Lo wanted something, she would state it. This could be funny for she didn't care where she was, what she was doing, and who was around to hear it when she spoke.
"I really want Ben and Jerry's." Lo said flatly as she adjusted her mask.
"What?" Cynthia couldn't help but laugh. She wasn't expecting Lo to say that.
"What?! I want some coffee flavored ice cream!" Lo pouted.
Ting!
The elevator beeped, and its doors slid open to reveal the large dark garage. All was silent except for the low purring of the black van. After a decent amount of walking the two managed to get a good look at the seating arrangements of the van.
"Oh fuck." Lo grumbled as she opened the side of the van. "Your driving?" She asked, glaring fiery holes into the back of the Joker's head.
"Cheer up Dollface." The Joker laughed, obviously entertained by her anger. She could her the smile in his voice despite the mask he was wearing. "It could be worse, you could look like you little friend!" This threw him into a fit of hysterics as he started the engine.
"Fuck tard." Lo grumbled as she childishly kicked the back of his seat. There was something about that man that turned the usually mature teen into a pouting five year old.
"Okay." The Joker began as he parked the van. "Here's the plan. Lo, Sin, you two are gonna distract them. Then, while the guards have they're attention on you, Punch and Snake will take em out. Meanwhile, Jimmy will crack the safe. I'll do whatever the hell I want during this little escapade." The Joker informed them. Sometimes on missions he's do nothing, other times he played a large role, and others still he would take innocent people and either kill them or use them as hostages.
"Got it." Cynthia nodded as she opened the door and crawled out.
"Aye, Aye, Captain!" Lo laughed as she jumped out.
"So, how do you wanna go about this?" Cynthia asked as she hid her guns beneath her coat.
"May I lead?" Lo asked, her grin hidden by her mask.
"Be my guest." Lo heard the humor in her voice as she motioned towards the door.
BANG!
Lo let a bullet hit the ceiling as they busted through the double doors of Gotham Bank.
"Hello there my lovelies!" she shouted, changing the sound of her voice. "If you don't mind my friend and I will be relieving you of all that heavy money!" Civilians scrambled and screamed as Cynthia pointed her gun at the crowd.
"Freeze!" They heard a security guard shout from the opposite end of the bank. He was an older man, mid forties maybe, who was oddly tall in stature and a had thin mustache. But, Lo saw Snake standing in the shadows behind the man, waiting for her signal.
"Shoot." She yelled across the room. Before the poor bastard even had a chance to ask what the hell she was talking about the bullet had blasted through his torso.
Overall, the job went swimmingly(an expression Lo could never come to understand no matter how many times she tried.) with the exception of a few bloody corpses and a broken finger that Jimmy had received while cracking the safe.
[Lo]
"Home!" I shouted happily as I bounded through the door. "Hello home!" I cried to nothing and no one in particular.
"Wow, you seem happy." Snake sneered. I simply stuck my tongue out at him.
"Is that the Anarchy symbol on your tongue?" Cynthia asked, slightly surprised while she stared at my tongue.
"Yu-huh!" I nodded, my tongue still out, as I showed her one of my many tattoos. Now that I think about it, I never really talked about my tattoos. I had several, some of which I probably had forgotten about. My favorites are my anarchy symbol on my tongue, my solid black ouroboros that circled my belly button, my solid black monkey silhouette on my left shoulder, and the bar code on my upper right arm.
Li had the same kind of fetish but, with piercings. She had an eyebrow piercing on her right eyebrow, a piercing on her left nostril, two lip piercings(which she called snake bites), a belly button piercing, and every inch of her ears were covered in metal.
I guess we were pain addicts in a way.
Cynthia took in a sharp breath of air as she marveled at my tongue tattoo.
"Didn't it hurt?" She asked, squirming a bit.
"Yup!" I laughed, putting my tongue back into my mouth. "But, it looks so cool I couldn't help myself. I'll have to get it re-touched after a while tough. Tongue tats fade real easy."
"Ouch." Cynthia laughed as she handed me the wet towel I was motioning for. "So, after you get that stuff off your face, wanna head to Ben and Jerry's" She asked, a small smile on her face.
"Would I?!" I gave her a goofy grin.
"Would you?" She asked, amused by my antics.
"Would I!?" I asked again, with the same expression.
"Would you?" She asked again.
"Would I---" I was cut off as she smacked the back of my head playfully.
"Oh cut it out already!" She laughed. "And get changed, they'll spot you if your still in that outfit."
I laughed and headed upstairs. I was finally going to get some coffee ice cream!
