I woke up feeling warm and I could feel someone’s arms around me. When I opened my eyes and saw Shane in bed with me I freaked. I jumped out of bed and backed up against the wall. Sheesh, I can’t believe I actually fell asleep in the same room as him! I looked down at my clothes and went into the bathroom to get back in my old outfit, it may be short but I don’t want to wear Shane’s clothes! I snuck out of his room and down the stairs. I was about to go through the front door when Jack came out of the family room in wrinkled clothing, guess he slept down here last night. I gave him a fake smile and he gave me a warm one back.

“Don’t worry Alex, nothing happened last night, I checked every hour or so.” Jack looked down at his clothes and sighed, “Wrinkled yet again.”

“Thanks for um, checking on me last night.” I awkwardly gave Jack a hug and heard a gasp from the stairs. When I turned around Shane was there smiling.

“I save you from Mike and he’s the one that gets the hug?” Shane said giving me a puppy dog frown.

“Yeah, well, Jack made sure nothing happened last night. You should thank him, because I would be kicking your ass right now if anything happened-” I got cut off by both of them cracking up. I don’t get it, is it so hard to believe I could beat him up? They just stood there laughing at my confused expression and eventually lowered to only a few giggles and looked at me with their goofy grins. I growled in annoyance and that just got me more laughs.

“Oh boy Alex, that was funny! So, anyone up for pancakes?” Jack asked in a cheery tone.

“Okay, first of all, I have no idea what was so funny. Second, I would love some pancakes.” I smiled a big smile and walked with Jack into the kitchen and started talking like he was a girl too. Shane came into the kitchen after about ten minutes.

“Oh my god, please stop! I can’t take the girl talk anymore!” he said giving me a quick shy smile. I blushed but only a little, not enough for anyone to notice. Why do I have to think that just because a few guys are assholes that this amazing perfect one has to be too. I started to daze off having a little argument in my head about the subject when Jack nudged me and pointed at the spatula.

“Oh, sorry, was just thinking.” I handed over the spatula and when I turned to face Jack we both started to laugh. He was covered in flour and my guess was that I was too. “Great, there goes my new outfit!” I said laughing and trying to brush flour off me.

“Good, I told you about wearing that around guys anyways. Where did you even get it? A sex shop?” Shane was smirking at me and I threw flour at him.

“As a matter of a fact, I made it.” They looked at me a laughed again. “Oh come on guys, where do you think I got it?” I laughed with them.

We sat down and ate the pancakes and made jokes as we did. It was actually pretty fun, I can’t believe I was so against these guys. After we were done cleaning up the kitchen I headed for the door. “Well, I better get going to get cleaned up and changed. I’ll see you guys in school I guess. Thanks again for the help, and pancakes.” I was almost out the door when Shane called my name.

“Your car is parked in your driveway, I had Jack take care of that.” I just gave him a smile and nodded as I walked over to my house.

I snuck up the back and onto my porch. I opened up my bedroom doors and found Aphrodite sleeping on my bed. I went down the hall into the shower and when I was finally all dressed and good to go I ran down into the kitchen. I fed Aphrodite really quick and realized it was a school day today. Shit, I ran out the door and got into my jeep. When I was getting out of my jeep I saw Shane’s sweat shirt on the seat and grabbed it. I walked in the front and signed in at the office. They were already in fourth period, great. I walked into my class and saw Shane and Jack sitting there, I looked at them shocked and sat next to Shane. I handed him his sweat shirt and whispered to him.

“How the hell did you get here so fast?” I tried to pay attention to the teacher but I wanted to know how he possibly got here that fast. When I was leaving my house their cars were still in the driveway. Plus, I was speeding the whole time. He took his sweat shirt and looked at me with a smirk.

“Well, I believe we drove in a car.”

“No really, I want to know how.”

“Well, lets see, we drove on a road, and we drove by getting our license.” He gave me an adorable smirk and I growled in annoyance.

I ignored Shane and gave my attention to the class. My mind wandered and I began to write in my notebook about a vampire and a human girl. I was busy just writing when the bell rang and when I got into the hallway and headed for lunch Shane came up behind me and took the notebook.

“Hey, stop, that’s mine!” I yelled at him and tried to get it back but he was already reading it. He read it fast and handed it back to me without saying a word. I tried to figure out his expression but it was blank, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, just thinking. Oh and by the way, vampires can go out in sunlight.”

“Oh really, well who made you an expert on fake creatures?” I asked giving him a smile.

“Fake is a very wrong description darling.” He smirked at me and I was about to tell him he was crazy when we walked into the cafeteria. We walked over to where Zoey, Tyler, and Jack were sitting and sat down. Apparently Zoey had a short vacation, she looked grumpy too.

“Hey lovebirds, Jack told us about last night!” Tyler smiled and wriggled his eyebrows.

“Oh please, like Shane could handle this!” I shook my butt and sat down in between Zoey and Shane smiling.

“Oh, that’s what you think darling. Everyone here knows I would just be too amazing for you to handle without passing out.” Shane smirked at me and I gagged.

“Yeah, you wish.” We all went up together and got lunch, Zoey got in a better mood too. We talked about practically everything possible at lunch and me and Zoey had little whispered conversations about Shane. We talked about how hot he was, but then we talked about how he was probably a major asshole. Every now and then we would crack up and everyone would look at us which would make us laugh even more. School basically dragged on the rest of the week until Friday. We did the same thing everyday, we would meet at lunch and talk in between classes, the more and more I talked to Shane though, the more I got a crush on him. The more I got a crush on him, the more I knew I would end up hurting. Lunch went by as normal on Friday until about halfway through it. It was actually a pretty good day, until Shane opened his mouth.
