Me? I don't want it!! (Micah's Story) Part 1
Chapter 3 : Me? I don't want it!!(Micah's Story)Part 3
Mwahaha. This is the longest chapter yet....sorta boring. Just forewarning you. Unless your someone like Kitty. Then, it's REALLY boring. Hm. Yeah, it took me around an hour to write this, isn't that sad? Ah...again, there may be alot of spacing/paragraph mistakes, but my preview option is retarded, so don't blam me.
Xee held Micah somewhat tighter as they approached Naiou’s door. The sound of sword scraping against stone became louder and more menacing the closer they got. After what seemed like an eternity, Xee banged hard on the girl’s door.
"Xaliand...what do you want from me?"
Though not permitted to directly, Xee swung the door open with tremendous force only to be cast out with an equal force, landing on her back several yards away.
"Again I ask you nicely....what would you like from me?!" Naiou’s voice hardened as she walked up to
Xee, looking down at her cousin sprawled on the floor. Xee scrambled to her feet and made sure the boy was okay before turning to face Naiou.
"I....I wanted to know if you could raise this child for me–"
"You’ve....had a child, Xaliand?!"
Usually calm, Naiou’s face hardened, and while Xee processed the question, she repeated it, more frantic then before.
"No, it’s...not mine. It’s of the main branch of our clan, though...."
Naiou looked slightly relieved, then seemed to think about taking it. Her dark hair fell into her face as she sighed, and her piercing blue eyes surveyed Micah before she gave an answer.
"Xaliand, do you really want me ‘corrupting’ this boy with my religion? You know how the family doesn’t approve of--"
"Screw ‘the family’. We’re traitors, remember? If we’re found in the village, we’ll be either taken captive or killed, probably both. Please, I’m asking you as family....take it?"
Xee’s voice grew increasingly desperate and again Naiou sighed.
"Xaliand, I have no way of knowing what Jashin would--"
Xee glared at Naiou intensely before stepping closer, towering over the much younger girl.
"So...you’re telling me that you care more about that bullshit fake god of yours then you do of us?"
Naiou looked taken aback for a minute, before glimpses of expressions of hostility and violence came.
"Find someone else. I’m not your fucking babysitter."
Xee watched Naiou slam the door and the sound of her sharpening her sword returned to the upper floor of the hideout. Xee sighed and looked at Micah, who was also looking up at her, teary-eyed. Xee sighed and took him down the hall to her room, where she fed and put him in her makeshift crib, constructed of a mattress and boards of wood. She then thought of what her next option was....she’d have to return to the mansion...she slammed her fist against the wall, cursing herself for being so rude to Naiou....if she would’ve played along with her ‘Jashin’ thing, she might’ve taken the child and Xee didn’t have to drag herself all the way back to the village, cheating death. She gave Micah a sympathetic look.
"I know how you feel kid, no one seems to want me either."
She was given a bright smile from Micah–by coincidence–immediently after she spoke to him before grinning back weakly and crossing to her window. Tying her long golden hair up, she readied herself. It was now or never. She would head towards the village and pray that no one was out and about, since it had gotten darker and later. She spent more time talking to Naiou then she thought, and was impressed by the twilight. She opened the window and lowered herself to the ground, guilt for drugging the child via his bottle, but she overcame it quickly and tore through the woods, knowing the only thing that her life depended on was her family’s trust, and her own skill, but either way, it scared the shit out of her and she knew it.
