Haley Wells 2 (Fred Weasley Love Story) ch 1
Chapter 10 : Haley Wells 2 (Fred Weasley Love Story) ch 10
On Monday morning, Haley wanted to do nothing except sleep in. She knew that she couldn’t though because of classes.
“I don’t want to go to class today,” mumbled Ashley as Haley woke her up.
“Neither do I but you have to get up,” said Haley as she put on her Gryffindor robes.
Ashley and Haley made their way to the common room where they found Fred and George waiting for them.
“It’s about time,” said George, “now can we please go? I’m starved.”
“Yeah, yeah we’re coming,” said Haley as they began to walk out of the common room, “What classes do we have today?”
“Potions first thing of course,” said Fred glumly.
“Great,” said Ashley, “I couldn’t ask for a better Monday.”
“At least we don’t have classes tomorrow,” said Haley, “You know because of the tournament.”
“Oh yeah,” said George, “I completely forgot.”
They made their way into the Great Hall where they found all of the other Gryffindors eating breakfast. Haley, Ashley, Fred and George all took their seats next to Harry and Hermione.
“Still not talking to Ron, I see,” said Fred taking a bite of bacon.
“Ron who?” asked Harry, “I don’t recall I know a Ron.”
Fred and George could tell that Harry was mad and probably very nervous about tomorrow afternoon so they didn’t say anything more to him.
“Someone’s in a bad mood,” said George looking down at his plate.
“Guys leave him alone,” said Haley also looking down at her plate. “I’m sure he’s very nervous and –
“Alright Haley we get it,” said George interrupting her.
After breakfast all four of them made their way to Potions. Ashley and George of course were in front of Fred and Haley and they were holding hands. Haley remembered when she could hold Fred’s hand and she didn’t care what anyone thought. She looked down at his hand and it was swinging by his side. Haley had felt an urge just to reach out and grab his hand. She had to resist though. They were over and she has moved on. She didn’t want them to be over though. She was still pretty sure that she loved Fred and she always seemed to think about him.
When they reached the dungeons, Professor Snape made them get partners and work on a sleeping draught. Professor Snape, of course, had to pick partners himself because he would do anything to make Haley’s life miserable.
“Miss Wells you will be paired with Mr. Summers,” said Snape with an evil grin on his face.
Haley made a face of disgust and she looked over at Matt who was almost the ugliest boy she had ever seen in her life. He was of course in Slytherin and he was completely stupid. Fred was paired with some blonde Slytherin girl named Jenna who kept flirting with him. Haley felt something inside of her catch fire when Jenna tried to hold Fred’s hand. Lucky for Haley, Fred moved away from her. George was paired with some Slytherin boy who was extremely smart and Ashley was paired with a girl who hated her guts.
“Okay Matt,” said Haley, “Let’s just get this over with.”
“You’re really pretty,” said Matt.
“Uhh,” said Haley as she made a face, “T-Thank you, I guess.”
As far as potion classes go, Haley thought that this one had to be the worst one yet. Matt kept trying to kiss Haley and on top of that, she had to watch Jenna try and make a move with Fred. At the end of class, Haley brought her potion to Snape where he graded it and she managed to get an A and Matt managed to get an O even though he did absolutely nothing. Haley didn’t care though. She just wanted to get out of that class as soon as possible. 5 minutes later, the bell rang and Haley grabbed her bag and she ran out of that classroom.
“Okay,” started Haley, “That was, by far, the worst potions class I have ever experienced!”
“Tell me about it,” said Fred, “Did you see that girl Jenna? She was getting on my last nerves and we didn’t even get to finish the potion. She also asked me out.”
“What did you say?” asked Haley nervously.
“I said yes of course,” said Fred.
Haley stopped dead in her tracks and she looked up at Fred with great disbelief.
“I was kidding,” said Fred grinning. “Hales, you take things way too seriously.”
“Don’t do that!” yelled Haley as she hit Fred on his arm. “I thought you were serious! I hate you.”
“Ah, I love you too,” said Fred as he put his arm around Haley.
The day dragged on slowly and finally it was dinnertime. Fred, George, Haley and Ashley all made their way to the Great Hall together.
“I can’t believe how much Transfiguration homework we got,” said Fred sitting down at the Gryffindor table.
“Yeah I know,” said Ashley, “I’m never going to get it done.”
“At least we don’t have classes tomorrow so we have an extra night to do it,” said Haley smiling.
“Good point,” said Ashley with a mouthful of potatoes.
“I wonder when Ron will start talking to Harry again,” said Fred looking down the table at his brother who was eating by himself.
“I dunno,” said George, “they can’t stay mad at each other forever. Soon Ron will have to face the facts that Harry is in the Triwizard Tournament and there’s nothing that can change that.”
“Maybe we should go and talk to him,” said Fred, “I mean, he is our brother.”
“Okay,” agreed George as they both made their way down the table and left Haley and Ashley by themselves.
“So anything new with you and Fred?” asked Ashley.
“No,” said Haley, “We’re just friends…I guess.”
“Well you guys should get back together,” said Ashley, “You were cute together. George and I want to go to Hogsmeade sometime and maybe sneak through the secret passageways.”
“I don’t get it,” said Haley.
“What’s there to get?” asked Ashley, “It’s just more fun going to Hogsmeade through the secret passageways.”
“No not that,” said Haley, “I mean, I don’t get how you and Fred have dated almost 2 years without any break ups at all! How do you do it?”
“I dunno,” said Ashley, “We are just really close and we don’t tend to fight like you and Fred do. We just fight sometimes.”
“I wish Fred and I were like that,” said Haley taking a bite of her chicken.
“Well you could be,” said Ashley, “If you didn’t flirt with boys all the time. I mean first Jim and now Mike.”
Haley remembered her ex-boyfriend Jim from last year. Turns out he was only using her to get to another girl.
“I just can’t help myself,” said Haley, “I mean, I like boys, and it’s hard for me to just stick with one I guess.”
“Then there’s your problem,” said Ashley, “It looks to me as if you are going to have to solve this problem yourself.”
“Easy for you to say,” said Haley, “From the looks of it, you and George will probably end up getting married.”
Ashley didn’t say anything, she just grinned.
“What?” asked Haley.
“You and Fred will probably end up getting married too,” said Ashley smiling.
“No we won’t,” denied Haley.
“Yes you will,” said Ashley, “and we could have our weddings at the exact same time in the exact same place! It could be like a double wedding.”
“Don’t get your hopes up,” mumbled Haley as Fred and George returned to their seats.
“He won’t even talk about it with us!” said George returning to his food.
“Yeah,” said Fred, “He’s being a git.”
Haley and Ashley didn’t say anything; they just looked at each other and smiled.
The next day Haley and Ashley woke up very excited. They couldn’t wait to watch and see what the first task would be. They stayed up guessing all night about what it could be. Finally it was time for the task. Every student made their way to the stadium where the first task would be held. Haley and Ashley took their seats and they couldn’t find Fred and George anywhere.
“Where do you think they could be?” asked Ashley.
“I have no clue,” said Haley looking around to see if she could find two identical red-headed boys. None were in sight.
“I suppose they forgot,” said Haley still looking around.
“No,” said Ashley, “That doesn’t sound like them.”
“Bets, place your bets!” said a voice that sounded oddly familiar.
“Bets taken! Bets taken here!” said another voice almost identical to the first voice.
“Step up folks and place your bets on who will win the first task today!” said the voice of Fred Weasley.
Haley and Ashley spun around and there were Fred and George surrounded by a group of students who appeared to be giving Fred and George money.
“What on earth are you two doing?” yelled Haley.
“Oh hey,” said Fred smiling at Haley, “Care to place a bet?”
“I’d care to smack you across the face!” yelled Haley. “Get down here right now!”
“Sorry no can do,” said George smiling. “We’ve got a business going.”
“George Weasley get down here right now!” yelled Ashley, “and stop taking people’s money!”
“What?!” yelled George, “I can’t hear you! I will talk to you after this task!”
“George, Fred, get back here!” yelled Ashley, but it was no use, Fred and George had disappeared into the crowd of students.
“I’m going to kill them,” said Ashley sitting down. “They can’t take students’ money like that. I am going to kill them when this is over.”
“Ash, lighten up,” said Haley smiling, “They’re just having some fun.”
“I suppose you’re right,” said Ashley.
Haley looked around at the stadium and she saw that there were four dragons locked in cages.
“Do they have to fight them?” asked Ashley.
“I hope not,” said Haley, “This could get ugly.”
Haley noticed that in the middle of the field there was a golden egg. The first dragon was released and it seemed to be protecting the egg.
“I bet they have to get the egg,” said Haley to Ashley and the next moment, a whistle blew and Cedric Diggory emerged from the tent. The crowd went wild cheering for him as he tried to dodge the dragon and catch the egg. He tried to transfigure a rock into a dog to distract the dragon but it didn’t work the way he’d hoped. The dragon decided that it would rather have him than the dog. It took Cedric about 15 minutes to capture the egg and the crowd cheered and cheered. He got a fairly good score from the judges.
The next person to try and get past the dragon was Fleur Delacour. She put the dragon into some sort of trance and he fell asleep. The only problem was, when he snored a flame shot out of his nose and Fleur’s skirt caught fire but she put it out with her wand. It only took her about 10 minutes to get the egg and she also received very good scores.
Viktor Krum was the third person to go out there and complete the task. He shot the dragon with some sort of spell right in the eye. He was definitely the quickest one to receive the egg and received very good marks and finally Harry emerged from the tent. Gryffindors went wild and cheered him on.
Haley thought that Harry way to receive the egg was the cleverest, he used his broom and he was such a talented flier. It took Harry longer to retrieve the egg than it did for anyone else but it was worth it. Harry tied for first place with Krum and Cedric in third and Fleur in fourth. Haley was extremely happy for Harry.Did you like this story? Make one of your own!
