"What mall are you going to?" Jake asked as I tried my hair with a fluffy white towel. He was acting somewhat peculiar.
"Oh, you know I was thinking we would hitchhike to Seattle in miniskirts and tubetops," I said sarcastically before flipping my head right-side-up. He glared at me.
"Would it kill you to give an honest answer?" he asked slightly annoyed. I sighed.
"We're just going to Port Angeles okay? Just a little girl-time," I said as I applied a little mousse to my hair.
"Okay, but just be careful okay?" he said sounding a bit concerned. I wiped my hands off on the towel and walked over to where he was sitting on my bed.
"Babe, what's wrong?" I asked sitting down next to him. He sighed.
"Nothing," he said obviously lying. I decided to push the topic.
"Would it kill you to give an honest answer?" I asked mimickingwhat he had said earlier.
"It's just the Cullen's are known for attracting...trouble. I spoke withsome of them, and they said that there's a chance that somebloodsuckers from Italy might be coming. Really powerful ones," he explained. He took a deep breath. "Actually the pack and I are going to meet with the Cullens today."
"Today?" I asked leaning against him.
"Yeah, but don't worry about it. The Cullen's aren't that bad," he said oddly. I could tell it sort of hurt him to say so. Losing Bella had cut him really deep.
"Be careful," I said kissing him softly on the cheek. He wrapped his arms tightly around me.
"Don't worry," he whispered against my hair. "I should probably go," he said after a few minutes. I sighed and walked with him to my front door. Charity stopped me.
"Uh, this is Embry's..." she said handing a black t-shirt and a pair of jeans to Jacob.
"Wow, I thought you were joking," Jacob said as he opened the door. "Call me later okay?"
"Yeah," I said as he shut the door.
"Ready to go?" I asked Charity slipping on my shoes. She nodded. I opened the door and we were off.
