In the last chapter: El-chan turned 7 and as a birthday present, Ezra replaced El's ears with her own. After screaming in pain when the ears sprouted on top of her skull, Naruto-kun vame over to see what was the matter. El-chan tried to hide the ears under a hat, but in the end, she showed him. Later, when the two went for ramen, a boy snatched El-chan's hat off of her head, revealing her new cat ears. as she ran home, the villagers yelled and threw stones at her. It’s been seven years since I moved to Konoha and I’ve grown much stronger mentally and physically. Now, I am twelve years old. Two years ago, for my tenth birthday, Ezra replaced my fingernails and canine teeth, giving me her own fangs and claws. Along with them, black marks began to spread on my midsection. But I’ve gotten used to being the freak in the academy, I actually kind of like it. Especially since I have the strength to defend my body and the wit to protect my pride.

It was the day of the gennin exams at the academy and I was confident that I could pass. However, I was also confident that Naruto wouldn’t pass.
“Oh, come on, Naruto-kun, you’ll be fine! Tell him, Sasuke-kun.” I was good at hiding things when I wanted to. “That baka (idiot) has no chance.” I hit his arm and hissed, “You’re not helping!” “However, I am telling the truth.” “Yea, well it’s not helping.” Sasuke just shrugged.
“Why you,” in a split second, Naruto was up on the desk, not two inches away from sasuke’s face. I just sighed, “I wouldn’t do that if I were you…” and just as I spoke, the boy in front of us leaned back, knocking Naruto into Sasuke, lips first. The two were in the lip lock for not even two seconds when they parted, swearing, and spitting.
Meanwhile, I was rolling on the ground and the growing crowd of fan girls that we had been ignoring became livid. Poor Naruto was beaten to a pulp by the girls. Sasuke would have been forced to sit next to one of the rabid fan girls, but I hissed and flashed them my fangs, scaring them off.
“Oh, thank you soooo much for your help, El-chan. I really appreciated it…” Naruto scowled over at me as Iruka walked in. “No prob’!” I grinned and gave him a peace sign.
After talking like fifteen minutes to explain how today was going to go, Iruka went inside a side room and started calling rooms. ‘ok, so once we take our exam, we can leave, cool.’
When he finally called my name, I walked down after receiving a ‘good luck’ from Naruto and a smirk from Sasuke. That was all I needed to keep my grin plastered to my face as several of the girls in the class were glaring daggers at me.
“Good morning, Electra-chan.” Iruka smiled kindly as I closed the door. Sitting beside Iruka was the other teacher, Mizuki. I didn’t like him as much as I liked Iruka. Ezra had told me the first time I saw Mizuki that he was possessed by the demon of greed.
“Ohayo gozaimasu (good morning), Iruka-sensei, Mizuki-sensei.” I grinned and flashed the two a peace sign. “Ohayo gozaimasu, Electra-chan.” Mizuki laughed a little at my natural formality. “So, Electra, all we need you to do is create three clones of yourself.” Iruka said, already reaching for one of the few remaining headbands. “Hai!” I became serious and made the hand sign. I focused my chakra and then disappeared in a cloud of smoke. When the smoke cleared, I stood in the center behind one of my clones. “And we expected nothing less from our top female student.” Mizuki smiled kindly as Iruka handed me my headband. “Arigato(thank you)!” I grinned as I bounded out the door and back up to my friends.
“I passed!” I continued to grin as I picked up my messenger bag and headed out, “Meet me by the tree when you guys get done, ok?” “Hai!” Naruto gave me a two finger salute while Sasuke just nodded, calling Naruto a baka in the process.
‘That exam was almost too easy. I didn’t even have to use your chakra.’
Yea, but I sensed something evil in Mizuki’s aura. Watch out for yourself and Naruto. That idiot has something to do with it.
‘Hai…’
Not too long afterwards, Sasuke came out sporting a headband of his own. I grinned and flashed him a peace sign. He just smirked and called me weird. I fake pouted and whined, “Sasuke-kun, you’re so mean to me!”
I was sticking my tongue out at him as a sad-looking Naruto came out and plopped down on the swing next to Sasuke and me. When I looked over at him, my face fell to see that he was lacking a headband. So I got on my knees and looked at him sympathetically. “I’m sorry, Naruto-kun. I thought for sure you would pass…” He scowled at me, “No you didn’t. Stop lying. You knew I would fail.” I paused, then scowled right back at him, “Well at least I tried to make you feel better! You could have at least said thank you.”
In my frustration, I jumped up and began to walk away. As I did, I could hear Sasuke scolding Naruto. “Nice going, baka.” I could have sworn that they kept on talking, but the chattering of all the other people drowned them out.
I ran away from al of the people until I found the place that I had been searching for. It was a small meadow where the three of us usually went to talk, train, or just hang out.
I sat down under my favorite sakura tree and glared at the oak across the meadow. That one was Naruto’s tree.
That little brat needs to be a little more grateful of his friends. If it wasn’t for you, he wouldn’t have any.
‘Defensive as always, I see, Ezra. At least some one appreciates me.’ I smirked bitterly and stood up, still leaning against my tree. I quickly pulled out four kunai and threw them all at the oak tree.
Don’t take it out on the tree…take it out on that ungrateful little fox.
‘No, I’ll just let Mizuki have him.’ I smirked evilly as I threw another set of kunai at the tree.
Someone’s coming…
‘It’s just Sasuke. I would have thought that you would recognize his chakra by now.’ I rolled my eyes and faked another smile, “Hey, Sasuke-kun.” He looked at me with a blank face, “Don’t try that with me. I know you’re faking.” ‘damn…’
I sighed and pouted, “You’re too good at that…” He smirked, then spoke again, “forget that loser, if he doesn’t want your kind words, then he doesn’t deserve them.” I tipped my head and looked up slightly at him, “Yea, I guess you’re right. Thanks, Sasuke-kun!”
I smiled again and hugged his neck. He hesitated, but eventually hugged me back. Without letting go, I spoke again, “Sasuke-kun, why are you being so nice today?” He paused, then replied, “Well, you’re my friend and friends have to look out for each other.” I giggled a little, “Yea, I guess so.”
I paused, my smile falling from my face, “I guess that means I should try to talk to Naruto-kun. I mean we are still friends.” We let go and he looked at me softly, “You do whatever you feel is right.” I grinned, liking this new look that he was giving me.
