Cloud can't you hear me? (Cloud love story)
Chapter 14 : Cloud can’t you hear me? (Cloud love story) Chapter 10
Kintara’s POV
Kale stood across the room as I walked into the bar with Kisa hugging my side. We were laughing. When I noticed his face I stopped. Kisa didn’t understand my expression. Kale’s face was serious and he looked me dead in the eyes. He wanted to talk. I looked at Kisa.
“Hey sweetie, why don’t you go hang out with Cloud for a while? Kale and I need to talk!” I said smiling. Kisa smiled.
“Okay sissy!” She chimed as she ran upstairs. She has been calling me sissy for about two days now. It’s so cute! As Kisa ran up the stairs Tifa walked in and stood by Kale.
“What’s wrong Kale?” I said walking towards the window.
“We need to talk about what is happening to you. There is no point in hiding it anymore.” Kale said emotionless. This startled me.
“Okay.” I faced him and he his face was stone.
“The four men you saw the other day, they are from your past. When DNA kidnapped you they also kidnapped those four. They are DNA’s lap dogs. They have been following us for some time now. They want you back. You are a very powerful woman and they know that.” Kale stared at my eyes. I couldn’t understand.
“So you’re saying I’m nothing but a genetically enhanced human that is nothing without injected chemicals?” I questioned. Kale’s face was washed over with shock.
“No that’s not what I meant Kintara and don’t you dare think that! You are so much more. You have your own strength and no one can take that away from you!” Kale countered. I was crossing my arms tightly and my fists were balled up. I looked at my sword leaning against the wall next to me. It was so normal now. Nothing special, as I am now. Genesis was wrong.
“You know Genesis was wrong about me. I am not a gifted child and ‘The gift of the goddess’ is not me. I have never been anything more.” I grabbed my sword and placed it on my back.
“Kintara that isn’t true. You are a gifted child and I do know that Genesis was right. Even though he turned into a bad guy he still looked after you. You are a gift and you always will be.” Kale’s voice was pained. He doesn’t always sound like this. I turned around to him and smiled. I turned towards the door and I walked out.
Cloud’s POV
I walked down the stairs down to the bar with Marlene, Denzel, and Kisa following close behind. Kisa was holding my hand. Kisa smiled up at me as we reached the floor. I smiled as she ran out the door with the other two. Kale was sitting down in a chair with Tifa in his lap. I ignored them as I walked to the bar and poured me a glass of water. I leaned on the counter. My back was facing them.
“I think I upset Kintara.” Kale’s voice was sad. He was talking toTifa but he was directing the conversation towards me.
“She looked angry and sad.” Tifa’s voice shrugged.
“She’s most likely venting her anger in a large, open space.” Kales voce was implying something. I stared at the wall across from me. Kale you idiot… you always end up making her feel bad. My attention was drawn to Kale once again. His fist came down on the table in front of him.
“Damnit Cloud!! Do you even care about her?!” He shouted while standing up. I turned to him with shock.
“I’ve seen the way you move around her. The way you look at her. Even the way you talk to her! I know you care! You always catch her when she falls. She’s falling Cloud. She’s falling fast and she needs you to catch her.” His voice was full of sadness
“She doesn’t need me. Why don’t you help her? You’re her brother.” I asked. I want to help but I don’t know how. She’s probably hurting right now. What could I do?
“I can’t! She’s mad at me! I talked to her and she didn’t like what she heard. Besides she doesn’t need a brother. Right now she needs you, Cloud. Ever since she came here and met you she’s glowed!” Kale was stepping closer.
“How do you know she’s happy? Especially with what’s going on right now with her past catching up with her?” I asked.
“She’s gonna kill me. She’s starting to sing again. She hasn’t sung in three in a half years.” He muttered.
“What does singing have to do with her happiness?”
“Singing is her only connection to our mother. Our mother taught her to sing and she only sings when she’s happy. For the past three in a half years she has been too depressed to remember her own voice. Now that she’s met you she’s been so happy that she is singing her heart out. You are the reason for her happiness. Help her focus and help her deal with the present and the past.” Kale pleaded. His eyes dug into mine and I could see that he really wanted me to help.
“I don’t know where she is.” But I really did.
“GO.” Kale said sternly. I sighed and walked out the door with my sword on my back.
