Chapter 17 – A Sweet Dream Is About To End

“K-Kaname-sama...”
Oh what a blunder, yes throwing pens at people, nonetheless a Pureblood Vampire, was a very stupid thing I just did. I mean, it’s not like throwing pens at random people who walks in your room is common right? Right, so now Kaname is slightly tilting his head to one side, with his blank expression on. He must be trying hard not to laugh.
But what surprised me was that he left without saying anything. I was relieved, but then again, it wasn’t a good thing too. I don’t know what’s on his mind and that really annoys me. And no, I am not trying to read Kaname’s perverted side because I don’t like him that way.
Stupid...

Kaname looked at Nai, who was a little disgruntled. For a moment Kaname almost said something but decided against it. Who knows, he’ll probably say something harsh like ‘Have a mental problem?’ or ‘What an ugly pen.’ Okay maybe not the ugly pen part but yes, you know Kaname. He’s the cool and suave Pureblood vampire that everyone wants yet everyone secretly gets annoyed with.
“...I don’t need to say anything...” He had said to himself quietly in front of Nai’s room. “...it’ll just hurt him...and his silence.”

That was weird though...Kaname would usually point out something obvious that would annoy everyone...especially Zero.
I was pacing the room a little too fast. I don’t usually think much...okay maybe I do but I just don’t show it. There was just something wrong with Kaname today. I could tell because Pureblood vampires have this weird ‘empathic feeling’ or something like that.
We could immediately sense something that’s out of place or order. And this time, it was really handy. The aura that surrounded Kaname today was kind of...wrong. Not the mistaken kind of definition but the not fitting definition. Was I being too nerd-ish?
He must probably have a lot on his mind...
Yes, I decided to just let it be that way instead of meddling with some other vampire’s affairs...not the ‘love’ affair but the ‘other kind of definition of affair’ affair.
Moments later though, I was disturbed. Like something suddenly popped out of nowhere and freaked me out...a whole lot. There’s just this spine-tingling feeling in...well obviously the spine.
I stood up without thinking and walked outside...even when the sun was about to rise.
However...

Was that Nai going outside to the sunlight!?
Zero thought to himself. He saw the glistening pale color of Nai’s hair being swept away by the wind just right outside the window. Although there was this feeling of anxiety on Nai’s face. And that was when Zero got freaked out. Nai would normally care less about anything.
That idiot, he’s going to get burned!
And with that, the door was left opened and sunlight poured inside as the faint silhouette of Zero running towards Nai.

“What the hell!?” I screamed as Zero suddenly popped out of nowhere and decided to push me away from the sun. “What are you doing out here Zero!? You’ll get killed you’ll get...” But I noticed something about his eyes. It was blood red. Like when us vampires use our powers or when we’re hungry.
That’s when it hit me like earlier, Zero was hungry, and I’m his prey.

Kaname stared out the window just right behind his room. He knew what was going to happen, Zero would kill Nai...unless Nai discovers his secret. Kaname knew he couldn’t interfere with fate and Nai’s destiny was about to change...just because of a soon-to-be Level E named, Zero Kiryuu.
“Your sweet dream is about to end...Nai...”

I stared wildly at everywhere. I just heard a faint voice saying that my sweet dream is about to end. But that voice reminded me of someone who died....someone part of the family.
Mother...
Everything became fogged as my world spinned around...around...and around...and finally, everything turned red.
A scream...
Blood...
Silence...
