I heard my father gasp in astonishment, then give a snort.

“And why should I?” he asked, raising his wand. Jenny let out another scream. I froze at the sound of it.

“Hurts, doesn’t it?” he hissed, raising his wand still. Jenny’s screams of agony increased, becoming wails of pure torture.

“Stop it!” I bellowed. His arm ceased. Jenny’s screams stopped and she started to breath heavily, lying down on the floor as she did so. I felt anger towards my father boil up inside me as I watched her.

“You B****!!!” I howled, rounding at him. I whipped out my wand and aimed a well aimed curse at him. I let out a stream of cuss words as he dodged it gracefully, landing on both his feet, regaining his balance quickly.

“Oh, it upsets you? To see the filthy little Potter girl in… pain?” Father looked at me with a twisted smile on his face. I looked away, fighting back tears.

“Draco….”

Jenny tried to say something, but before I could move, she fell unconscious.

“Too bad!” father said in a mocking tone. “Now, no one will know the last words, of… Jenny Potter.” He emphasized the last word, making my veins pulse. “Pity…. And we all know that she will have never loved you, just spend the rest of her happy life with Potter….” He hit a weak spot.

“NO!” I screamed. I was then turning and aiming a jet of green light at my father at the same time. He jumped to the side just in time; the flash of green just missed him by mere centimeters. I was breathing very fast, my eyes were burning and hot tears were coming out; I didn’t try to stop them. “You-you… b****….”

“Oh, don’t think that Draco,” he said, getting up and dusting himself off with the back of his hand. “I am you father after all…”

I didn’t know why, but that one phrase upset me to the bone, shaking my tendons. As a result, I let out a battle cry like sound and launched another attack at my father. I sent green jets of light after green jets at him, but he was more skilled then I was. If only I could just make him weaker! That would be the only way…. And then it hit me. I couldn’t just kill him then and there. I had to play around, chew your food before swallowing type thing. Instead, I defended myself against his spells, noticing that they were also jets of a killing curse. Some father he was!

“Is that the best you got, b****?” I questioned. The curses, both sent and said, seemed to be crumbling the foundation of his structure. I sent a crucio at his head, missing him by inches.

“Ha! You missed!” he cried, aiming another curse at me.

But didn’t he get it? I wasn’t trying to hit him anymore, because I knew I would miss. I got close to him, enough for him to dodge, but not enough to actually hit him. I aimed another next to his elbow; my plan was working.

I continued to just barely miss him; it was quite entertaining, actually. Except for, you know, the whole ‘dodging from death’ thing. But he quickly became tired, sparing me more time to regain my breath if I had to give a sudden jump or jolt.

“Tired, father?” I mocked as he jumped again from the path of my curse; sweat was falling down his face.

“You wish I were!” He sent another curse for me, but I was ready; it was time to finally get on the offense. I quickly jumped out of the way and, launching myself towards him, caught him off guard, and held him tightly around the neck, kicking his wand out from his grasp. It rolled away into the dark.

“Draco….” He spluttered under the pressure I put on his throat.

“Hmmm?” I raised an eyebrow.

“You c-can’t do this…. I’m your father!” his eyes were frantic as he fought for breath, which held him to life. It actually filled me with pity. But, that evaporated quickly, like mist in summer morning sunshine. I looked around the battle site, taking in my surroundings. Stray animals were lying on the ground, dead, due to the numerous killing curses flying by just a few moments ago. Plants were shriveled, with the same cause as the animals. The ground held burn marks, and little drops of blood were around Harry and Jenny. Jenny….

“Yeah,” I gave a snort, “cause fathers let that happen!” I jabbed a thumb behind us. “Especially,” I added with a hiss, “when their son is present. And fathers don’t try to kill their own flesh and blood.” I took out my wand and pressed it to his scalp.

“I could you know,” I murmured, pressing the strip of wood into his cranium even harder.

“No! Don’t! Draco, please…!” he was practically crying now. “I-I’m your f-father….” But the sentence would never be finished. Because at that very moment, I completely lost it. The excuse was done.

“Avada Kedavra.”

My father fell limp in my grasp, his eyes still wide open in his last, frantic plea.

“You are no father of mine.”

I hissed these last words and threw him to the ground, disgusted. Soon, I would make up a story on why he was dead, and why I was the cause. Of course, mother didn’t have to know the details….

I padded over to Jenny and Harry, knowing, that even though I hated Harry with all my heart and soul, that Jenny was a completely different story….

I stopped and squatted next to her. She was still unconscious. I checked her pulse; at least she was still alive. I checked Harry, too, and he looked pretty sore, though alive. What the hell did father do to this dude? He was alive at least, though he seemed to be staying in unconscious land far longer than Jenny would. Then I heard her voice.

“Draco?”

She lifted her head shakily, resting her body weight on her forearms. She winced with the effort.

“What happened to your dad?”

She seemed scared. I took one of her hands in mine, intertwining her fingers in between my slightly shaking ones. I gave a half a smile.

“You wouldn’t believe it if I told you 20 times over,” I whispered, a smile dancing on my dirty face. She rolled her eyes.

“Try me.”
