"You never know, the storm could come back again. I think it is safer for you to stay," He said wrapping his arms around me. I sighed and placed my head on his chest. "Thanks again for helping me. I know I must seem like a little kid afraid of the storm like that," I said. "Alexis, that is what friends are for. And I am super Joe, I am supposed to fight all your fears away, it is my job," He said laughing. I sighed, Joe is the best friend in the world and he did just that fight all my fears away. It is one of the many things I love about him. "Joe, you are an amazing superhero," I said kissing his cheek. "You do fight all my fears away." "Lex, I am here for you," Joe said kissing my forehead. "Don't ever think that I don't care or I will make fun of you. I love you." My breath caught in throat. I looked at Joe and smiled. "I love you too," I said smiling. Joe shook his head. "I mean I really love you. Like my mom loves my dad not like a brother loves a sister," Joe said smiling at me weakly.

*BOOM* Another flash of lighting in the sky followed by a boom of thunder. I bit my lip and sat up. I pulled my bear closer, the bear he won for me earlier that night and sighed. I got up and quietly tip-toed to Joe's room. He always helped me when I was afraid.
*BOOM* I jumped and let out a yelp. I heard someone get up and open the door. I bit my lip and looked up to see Joe standing in front of me in his Pj pants. I took a deep breath and he smiled.
"What are you doing up Lex?" Joe asked smiling at me. I sighed as another boom went off and winced.
"Thunderstorm," I mumbled and Joe laughed taking me into his arms. I took in his smell and held on tighter as the thunder got louder. The next thing I knew I was lying in his bed, snuggling up against him and sniffling.
"Shh....Alexis, everything will be fine," Joe said rubbing my back. I looked at him, my Hazel eyes filled with unshed tears and gave him a weak smile. He smiled and kissed my fore head. "You know there is nothing to be afriad of with super Joe here right?" I laughed and nodded. He smiled and moved a piece of my hair out of my face. I gave him a smile before putting my head back on his chest.
"Thanks Joe," I said sighing as the storm slowed down. I moved to get up, seeing how the storm was almost over and I wasn't afraid anymore but I was pulled back.
"Where are you going?" Joe asked smiling at me. I smiled back and pointed to the door, indicating that I was going back to the guest room. He shook his head and pointed to his bed and I smiled.
"The storm is over," I said smiling. He smiled and pointed to the bed. I smiled and snuggled back into his arms. "I could go back now. I am not afraid anymore."
I smiled and kissed his cheek,"That is how I meant it too."
Joe smiled and kissed me. He slowly broke it and placed a kiss on my forehead, "Time for sleep." I smiled and nodded.
"Night Super Joe, and thanks for fighting away all my fears," I said kissing his cheek and snuggling into his arms and drifting off to sleep. All my fears forgotten because as long as I had Joe, all my fears would be fought away.
