Chapter 8 : [[A Normal Teenage Girl {{And}} A Normal Teenage Boy]]{{Wait, HE Is A Vampire!}} EIGHT
Tonight is the only night I usually lose it all. I dress how I want, do what I want, and drink away the pain. See, I have this deal with a night club we play gigs at. They let me come in and drink even though they know I am underage, in return, we give them free gigs. And normally the night ends up pretty okay; I get home alive and safe. My mom hasn’t figured it out yet, or she just knows what I’m going through and ignores it. I’m a pretty good kid any other day. I guess dressing in a tight short outfit and pretty much looking amazing is a bad idea, kind of like me asking to be raped. I never care though; I just want to go crazy just one night. So I went upstairs and put on this new full leather outfit I got. Shortest and tightest mini skirt ever made, and the top is pretty much a shredded piece of leather that barely covers anything. I sat in my room with headphones on blasting music into my ears for hours until it was seven o’clock. I stood up and washed away the make-up that smeared when a few little tears escaped. After putting on new make-up I went out to my jeep and left my phone on the kitchen table. I already told my mom I was staying at Zoey’s and why should I bring my phone? I would never answer it anyways. When I pulled up outside the thump of techno music was a warm welcome. I walked up to the front of the line and just walked in as the doorman nodded at me. I walked up to Tony, the bartender, and sat down with a sigh.
“Hey Princess, what will it be today?” Tony gave me a warm smile and pulled out a glass.
“Uh, anything works, just make it strong,” I said with a frown. I admit I hate giving into the pain, but I need to cope with it just once. I sat there and kept drinking until I couldn’t stand up straight up anymore. I knew I should stop but just kept going on. I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned around to see Mike standing there with a smirk on his face. “What the fuck Mike, how did you get in here?” at least I was able to still think somewhat.
“Oh come on baby, I know you miss me!” he was pulling me from the bar stool and pressing me close to his body.
“Mike, stop it, please! Let me go!” I punched him in the balls and managed to stumble a few feet before running into someone. Their hands steadied me and pulled me closer. When I looked up I saw Shane staring down at me and turned to see Mike coming towards us. “What the hell are you doing here?” I was getting really confused and tired.
“I’m saving you, Zoey called me and told me to come find you.” Shane looked at me closely and then began leading me out the door but Mike stopped him and I pushed away from him. “Alex, come back here!” Shane hollered at me.
“I don’t need any help I can take care of myself!” I slurred.
“Yeah, and she’s with me dude, back off. I have dibs on her, nothing like some drunken sex she’ll never remember,” Mike smirked and put his arm around my waist and I groaned, “Oh come on baby, save that groaning for later.”
“I swear if you don’t let go of her you’ll regret it. I can really see how you’re taking care of yourself Alex, lets go, give me your keys.” Mike let go of me almost as if by command and I saw Shane’s eyes travel up and down my body and then quickly snapped his eyes to meet mine. He grabbed me and threw me over his shoulder and made for the door.
“Let me the fuck down you big idiot!” I screeched at him.
“I don’t think so darling, keys, now.” When I made no attempt to give him my keys he reached over and pulled them out of my pockets. I growled and hit his back like a baby having a temper tantrum. I heard him chuckle and started kicking him too. When we made it to my car he put me in and got into the drivers seat.
“Where the hell is your car at?” I looked around and couldn’t find his anywhere.
“I, um, walked here.”
I stared at him like he was crazy, the club was a few miles away and no way he just walked here. The rest of the ride went by in silence, Shane kept glancing at me though and it made me want to say something but I kept quiet. He drove past my house and pulled up in front of Zoey’s and parked the car.
“Um, if you haven’t noticed yet, I live next to you.” I was tired and wanted to get home.
“Oh trust me, I’ve noticed,” he gave me a smirk and I tried to hit him but failed horribly, “But, last I checked your suppose to be spending the night at Zoey’s.”
“She’s out of town though, I just used it as a cover up.” I just realized I can’t go home to my house, and Zoey’s not home. Shit, maybe I can call Tyler.
“Well, then, we can’t have you home all alone,” Shane gave me a frown and then got out of the car, “Out, come on, we leave the car here and walk to my house. You can stay there tonight.” He came over and helped me out of the car and smirked at me.
“Um, I don’t think that’s such a good idea Shane.” He just grabbed my hand and pulled me down the street. We walked in silence and we didn’t realize we were still holding hands until we got to his front door. We both blushed and he opened the door and we both slipped in quietly. Jack was sitting on the sofa watching T.V. and looked up when we walked in. I gave a weak little wave and Jack stared Shane down.
“Shane, this is a bad idea, she’s drunk but she’s our neighbor! You can’t do this, at least not here!” Jack was panicking and I looked at Shane in confusion.
“Will you shut up Jack? She’s not here because of that, she just can’t let her mom know she’s not with Zoey, god you really need to stop freaking out!” Shane’s voice was in a command tone and Jack stopped and went back to the T.V. while Shane led me upstairs. I blushed when he led me into his room and walked over to his dresser. “Um, here, you can wear this.” He handed me a big shirt and some shorts, no doubt from another girl.
“Um, thanks, for the clothes and for taking me home.” He nodded and his eyes wandered all over me once again. I turned to walk into the bathroom and he spoke.
“Hey, Alex, I don’t think you should wear that outfit around men ever again.” I chuckled and got changed. When I came back out Shane was in boxers and was lying on the sofa in his room. I blushed and stood there staring at his amazing chest. He noticed I was there and laughed, making me blush even more. “The bed is all yours, I’m good on the sofa.” He pointed in the direction of the huge bed and I just nodded.
I walked over to where he was laying and bent down so I could whisper into his ear, “I’m sorry if I wake you, just ignore the screams.” His eyes opened and he looked at me in the face as if he was trying to read my mind, I just stood up and climbed into the bed. I pulled up the covers and cowered under them, trying to hide from the nightmares I was probably going to get. I mean, why should they skip a year? I was asleep for a few hours before the nightmares started; it was at least another half hour before the screaming started. I wish I could at least not scream, it woke my mom and the twins up all the time, but at least they would wake me and the nightmare would stop until I fell asleep again. I felt two big hands shaking me and it took me a while to actually wake up. I was sobbing but at least I stopped screaming. I looked up and saw Shane crawling into the bed next to me. He pulled me into a ball and held me close. I mean, I know I hate the guy, but I am like freaking out and don’t really have the time to care. And yes, I do have a reason for hating him, because every cute guy like him is always a popular asshole and end up fucking up everything. I sobbed into him and hated myself for doing it.
“I said to ignore it, I’m sorry for waking you.” I can’t believe I sat there apologizing but what else was there to say?
“Alex, its okay, just calm down. Everything’s fine, I’ll stay right here.”
I just stayed balled up in his arms and listened to him tell me it was okay. I finally fell back asleep, and for the first time ever, the nightmares didn’t come back.
