You Are My Heroine [Frank Iero] 5
Chapter 2 : You Are My Heroine[Frank Iero] 15
Chapter 15: The Permanent Remembrance
We walked into the store and glanced around at the various art works covering the walls. We couldn't wait to do it, but we needed a parent's approval. We leaned up against the counter and waited thinking about what to do. We had finally decided when Lyssa's mom pushed through the door. "Hey mom!" Lyssa said as she skipped over to her and gave her a hug.
"Hey sweetie." She said returning the hug. "So are you two ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be." I laughed.
We turned around and looked at the cashier. He smiled revealing a set of pearly whites. "Guys know what you want?" His deep voice echoing through my ears.
"Yeah." We said in chorus. "We want our names on our wrists."
"Wow. That's not where girls usually want them."
I laughed at his remark. "I don't want one where they are most popular. I like being unique."
He gave me one of those remarkable smiles again and had me sit on a chair. He put an outline of our names on our wrists and asked if we liked them. I couldn't say anything; I was too busy looking at the outline that would soon become permanent. "I'm guessing you like it." He laughed when I didn't give him an answer.
All I did was nod. "Okay then. You're first since I put your outline on first." He sat me down on the black leather chair and had me relax. He then went over to the table next to the chair and slipped on some rubber gloves. He got all his stuff organized and sanitized it. "Ready?" He held the needle near my wrist.
"More than ever." I smiled.
The needle made contact with the skin on my wrist. It felt like a little prick being dragged alone the thin layer of flesh. I watched his steady hand go over the outline that was stamped on my wrist. Every minute or so he would wipe the surface with a white cloth to clean it off. Once he was done he stopped and admired his work. I smiled as I took a look at the new picture of black, purple and blue. "The redness should go away in a couple of days. As for the pain, that won't go away in a couple of weeks." He informed me.
"Nothing I can't handle" I smirked.
I got out of the comfortable, black, leather chair and let Lyssa sit down. I moved over to the couch and took a seat. I couldn't stop looking at my new body art. It was my name written in cursive and it had a few crystals around it. You could make out every little detail, but the thing that stood out to me the most were the words hidden in-between all the curly-cue’s that surrounded my name. Both Lyssa and I decided to put "Friendship Lasts Forever" in fine print under our name and then had each other’s names after them. So, Lyssa and I would remember each other and have each other’s name on our wrists along with our own.
When Lyssa was finished we embraced her mom in a huge hug. We then went back to the cashier, paid, and got bandages applied over our tattoos. We said thank you and left. "To the group?" Lyssa asked.
"To the group." I yelled, throwing one of arms in the air and ran to car. Lyssa laughed at me and followed.
It took us thirty minutes to arrive at our desired destination. We pushed through the door of Frank's house, knowing everyone would be there. "Frankie!" I yelled.
"We're in the kitchen." Frank yelled.
"Typical." I whispered to Lyssa. She giggled as we both walked into the kitchen.
"What happened to you guys?" Mikey asked.
Lyssa and I looked over at each other utterly confused. "What are you talking about, we're fine." I put in.
Mikey walked over to us and pulled up our wrists that were bandaged. "This!" He said.
"Ohh that." Lyssa laughed.
"We had to do something that would help us not forget about each other." Lyssa said, but not remembering I hadn't told them yet.
"Why do you have to remember each other? It's not like one of you is going anywhere." Gerard laughed.
"Yeah about that." I mumbled.
"Shit. Crystal I totally forgot. I'm so sorry." Lyssa apologized
"It's okay I have to tell them sooner or later anyway." I said
"Tell us what?" Bob asked.
"Something I found out today." I stalled.
"And what would that be?" Katy questioned.
"I'm leaving."
"What!" Everyone but Lyssa yelled.
"The doctor found me a foster home and I leaving after the break." I looked down at my feet.
"You can't be serious." Gerard said.
"I'm dead serious."
"Why did they even get you a foster home?" Frank asked.
"My parents and my brother have been abusing me." I mumbled.
"You're kidding."
"Why would I kid about that?"
"So what did you do then?" Mikey asked, changing the subject.
"We got tattoos." We said in unison.
"You're kidding?" Frank said excitedly.
"Nope." We smiled.
"Let's see them then." Gerard demanded.
We took off the bandages together and held out our wrists to show off the new body art. "That's awesome!" They all said once they saw them.
"Well what are we waiting for? We have to have fun!" Bob said. "Crystal where are you gonna stay?"
"I don't know where I'm staying. I can't stay with Lyssa because I broke up with her brother today. I can't stay with Frank because he is two houses down from my house."
"Stay here!" Gerard blurted out.
"All week?" I chuckled. "You'd get sick of me."
"That's not fair! You'll get to be with her longer." Frank whinned.
"Then everyone will have to stay the night." Mikey cheered.
