The Fifth Beatle (03)

We then spend the next several hours talking about old times, how much we missed each-other, and whats been going on in our lives.
"Did I tell you Im in a band?" "No" I say
"Yeah, I joined last year. Its called The Quarrymen. Its really great" Paul says
"Thats great Paul! I always knew you were going to be in a band. Your so good and talented!" I say
"Come on Sam! Im not that good!" Paul says while blushing. (sooooooo cute) "Yes you are Paul!!! I sounded like crap compared to how you sounded on those tapes!!!" At this Paul laughs (also so cute)
"Oh! I almost forgot to tell you the best part" Paul says
"The leader of the band thinks that we need a warm voice in the band. And of course by warm he means female" "But he doesn't want just any girl, he wants a girls with an amazing voice, who can also play the guitar" Paul says
"As soon as he said that, only one name popped into my head.... yours Sam" Paul says smiling
I stare at him with shock and amazment on my face. And with my mouth slightly open.
"Oh wow Paul... Im flattered that you thought of me, but, Im not a singer and I can't even play that well" I say
"Oh don't give me that bullshit Sam! Your a great guitar player according to those tapes you sent me! And you love singing! We used to sing all the time whem we were younger!!!" Paul says
"Yeah well... that was just you and me singing, and we weren't performing infront of anyone" I say while looking at the floor. Cus I know better then to look into Paul McCartney's eyes when he wants you to do something.
"And besides... I'd be too embararrassed to get up on stage and play" I say still looking at the floor
"Sam... you know that I would never let anything embararress you. And if you did get scared on stage, remember, I'd be right there next to you" Paul says soothingly. And at this, he takes my hands in his and holds them, gently rubbing them with his thumb. (nice and warm) *sigh*
"I don't know" I say
"Come on Sam, it'd be fun being in a band together!!! But if you do join the band then we'd have to change the name to 'The Quarrymen Plus A Girl'" Paul says with a smile.
I start laughing. Thats the one thing I missed and love about Paulie, his sense of humor!!!
He could always get me to laugh or smile, even when I was really down.
"I still don't know" I say "I mean, I don't know anything about the band, or its members. I don't even know the name of the leader"
"OK. Well for starters, the leader's name is John Lennon"
"John Lennon?!?!?!?" I say
"Yeah, do you know him?" Paul asks with confusion and hopefulness in his voice.
"I don't know him personally but I know girls at my school who talk about the infamous John Lennon." "They say he's rude, loud, mean, and that he treats girls like his own personal sex toy" I say
"Oh Sam you can't believe everything you hear. John isn't that bad" Paul says trying to reassure me.
"Please please join Sammy-Sam" (thats the nickname that Paul sometimes calls me)
Now Paul was making it difficult to say 'No' "Please...." Paul begged giving my hands a small squeeze.
I looked down at his hands holding mine and then I looked up into his face.
He was giving me his famous 'puppy-dog pout' face that he knows I can't resist. I mean, how can you resist those big, beautiful, brown eyes of his!!! With those long, gorgeous eyelashes that he's now batting slowly!!!! *sigh* (how can i resist!!!)
"OK" I say. "But before I join I want to meet this John Lennon" I say firmly, looking Paul straight in the eyes.
"Whatever you say Sam! Your the best!!!" Paul yells. And with that, Paul pulled me off the couch into the biggest hug I've ever gotten.
"Thank you" He wispers in my ear. "You welcome" I wisper back
I have never felt so happy in my entire life then I did right then and there in Paul's arms.
Paul then pulled me closer to his body and hugged me tighter.
I was so close to him that I could hear his heart beating as I put my head against his chest.
Paul felt so warm and soft! And with that, I thought.... 'Is it getting hotter in here?!?!'

Paul and me are gonna be in a band!!!
