“WHAT?!” I was now, well to sum it up, confused and just a little pissed.
“Your boyfriend called lookin for ya,” he said, holding up his phone. I smacked my forehead. God, Landon!
“He's not my boyfriend. He's not my friend! And I'm NOT GAY!”
“Why the hell'd ya giv em tha number then?” he slurred.
“I didn't,” I sighed, glaring at him through the hand I hadn't bothered to move.
“So what- he broke into the house and stole the number just so he could call you?” I wondered if he was drunk enough to believe that. Then, however, Ari ran in to give me a hug so I decided not to chance it.

“Arianna!” This terrified me. This infuriated me! A little girl shouldn't have to think about this! And no one should be reduced to tears because of Brian, or me for that matter. “You can't quit on me.” Neither one of us broke the hug to get the easy mac.
“I just don't want him to hurt you anymore,” she whispered. It was like someone stabbed me right then and there. I had to get her out of here.
