The Last Lone Wolf. (Part 1)
Chapter 7 : The Last Lone Wolf. (Part 4)
It's been almost a month now since I first met Nate, and we've been together ever since. Tomorrow's the first full moon since the time I was 'bitten' and I wasn't quite sure what to think of what tomorrow held for me. Nate and I went to his friends house, the one he borrowed the car from. His friend was a pretty well known doctor in his town small town in France. He warmly welcomed us into his home and was quick to eye me and ask Nate who I was, to which he only replied in faint whispers that I was unable to hear. By the end of that day we had to give the car back but Nate managed to bargin with him and got his friend to lend him his old vespa, a small moped-like vehicle used throughout thecounty. It was cute but small, and we still had some of Nate's music equipment to lug around with us everywhere. Before we could hop onto the new form of transportation graciously given to us, he handed over a small wooden chest to Nate and just gave him a look. Nate nodded and we headed off to another hotel to spend the night.
After we both got settled into our new home for the night I couldn't help but wonder what was in that chest that Nate was given. I looked aroundto see whether or not Nate was around, he was still in the bathroom taking a shower. I took my chance to go over to where he had set down the small wooden chest and went to open it. It had a lock on it. I glared at the lock, as ifthat would have done anything, and thought about looking for the key to it when I noticed a small switch blade knife sitting next to Nate's wallet. Again I checked to make sure he was out of sight and quickly grabbed the knife and jammed it into the lock to try and force it open. Now I was getting somewhere, it had worked, some how the lock had clicked open. I hurried to open the small chest but found nothing of true interest within it. All it contained were what looked like brand new syringes and several small vials filled with a light pale blueish colored liquid that held a thin jet black swirling fog in the center. How currious, I had never seen a liquid do such a thing as what I was seeing right now. Just as soon as I had attempted to pick one up, the chest what shut quickly causing me to jump. I looked up and saw Nate, still soaking wet giving me a rather stern look, much like a look a parent would give asmall child when they had done something wrong, he was scolding me. I tried an appologetic look but it didn't work, he seemed mad. After uttering a rather soft 'sorry' I got up, figuring I should just go tobed. Bed, yeah right, more like go to couch. All the rooms we have ever stayed in only had one bed and a couch. He always got the bed, and I always had to deal with sleeping on the couch.
Just as soon as I had started to walk towards the couch, I was stopped by Nate, standing in my way, only wearing a towel and still wet from his shower. I looked at him trying not to stare anywhere other than at his eyes which seemed to hold a slight rage in what was normally a very calm and soothing shade of hazel. He told me to go sit on the edge of the bed, I wasn't sure what to think, but I followed his order and sat where he told me to. He told me to stay, stay? What am I to him? A dog? I growled slightly at him for an answer but stopped seeing that he had removed the towel around his waist to use it totowel dry his hair. I blushed and quickly looked away from him. He's never acted like this before, what's with him tonight? He must have saw me look at him because he had chuckled slightly to himself about it. All I could do was continue not to look, while my face grew an even brighter shade of ruby. "Relax would ya? It's not like I haven't seen YOU naked before." He laughed jokingly at me and continued to dry his hair. ...What did he just say? I looked at him again and groaned slightly remembering that he was naked and quickly averted my gaze once again. He laughed louder that time grinning from ear to ear. It had been a rouse to get me to look at him again. I blushed even more thinking my face would have turned into a tomato by now. "Aww what's the matter Elly? Can't take a little nudity from time to time?" He taunted me and continued to dry himself right infront of me. I closed my eyes trying not to look at him again. "Look just put some clothes on would you?!" I squeaked sheepishly at him, "At least some boxers or something!" Now, THIS was the Nate I had come to know in the past month, a sly, outgoing young musician that was always poking fun and flirting. Reluctantly he slipped on some boxers that I had thrown at him and threw the towel around his neck. He walked back over to the small wooden chest I had just picked the lock of and stared at it for awhile, taking out one of the peculiar vials from it. He walked back over to the bed and sat down next to me, both of us staring into the small black swirls.
After what seemed like five minutes of dead silence, I asked him what it was. He continued to stare into it for a few more minutes until he looked back at me. He gave me a weak and tired look and fixed his gaze back on the vial once again and took a deep breath that seemed more like a rather depressed sigh. "It's complicated..."
