When the song ended, everyone was taken aback as the turned to look at Scarlett.

"What? Did I do something wrong?" She was worried. Worrying that she blew her last chance for making it in a band. That's all she wants, just to make it in a band and fit in. Not having to beg or pay her way in, she wanted to make it in on her talent. She just sighed, she blew it. She just knew by the looks she was getting. "I'll just grab my bag and go." She got up and left the drumset, striped drumsticks in hand. Grabbing her bag from the couch, she began walking off, stuffing her sticks in the bag as she walked.

"Where do you think you're going?" Daniel called after her.

She turned around, confused. "I'm leaving. It's clearly evident you don't want me for your drummer. Plus you don't like girls and despise them if they're in a band no matter their talent. If you haven't noticed I'm a girl that has talent behind a drum set. I was stupid for thinking I could make it in your band. To even think I had what it took to get in when you have the best musicians there are here in Shadows. I wish you and your band mates good luck on the quest for a drummer. Good bye." She started to walk off again but this time she was stopped because she ran into something.

Scarlett stumbled but a pair of strong, muscular arms came out and held her steady. Not something she ran into, more like a someone. Someone such as Daniel. Her eyebrows furrowed, her face masked with confusion.

"The band I don't want another drummer. We want you in the band. So, are you going to take this offer or not? No one is forcing you." Daniel said as he let go of her tiny waist.

She thought a moment. This was something major, life changing. Something she's always wanted next to other things. "What about your issue with girls?"

"Oh, that. We'll work around it. Your not an average girl you know. The way you play...it was amazing. Never have heard our music before and you gave an intro right off that fit perfectly with the music. As the song went on you kept the rhythm going, making up your part as we went along and you didn't get lost. Your style fits and you would too. All you would have to do is ignore my little fits of rage." Daniel said as his hand went to the small of her back, pushing her towards the group again.

They were all smiling. Weird. "I never got all of your names? Care to tell me who you are so I won't feel like a complete idiot?" She asked as she stood before all of them.

The guy with the bass guitar spoke first. "I'm Maverick, lead bassist, vampire."

Then they all started firing off names, instrument, and their ethncity.

"Castro, lead guitar, vampire."

"Sloan, secondary bassist and electronics, vampire."

"Hi, I'm glad to meet you. I' so happy that i'm not the only girl anymore! I'm Shannon, Daniel's sister. I sing a song or two at concerts and play the piano and sing back up when needed." It was the girl on the couch that was speaking now. Not to mention about to squeeze Scarlett to death as she hugged her.

"Shannon! Don't kill the drummer already!" Daniel came over and pried his sister of of her.

Scarlett gave a reassuring smile. "Nah, it's ok. I didn't know there was a sister next to Daniel Shadows and especially not in the band. Nice to meet you all. I'm going to go ahead and give you my warnings." They all looked at her, uncertain. "Don't worry it's nothing bad. Warning one, I'm no girly girl. Meaning, I can take care of myself pretty much. Always been me, myself and I. Warning two, if anything comes down to a fist fight, i'm jumping on the fun. Warning three, I don't play well with others when it comes down to music. Warning four, never threaten me or my band." She finished, finally taking a breath, then smiled as everyone else did. Smiling around this bunch was contagious, not to mention all the smiles were nothing but fangs. Something Scarlett was greatful for since she didn't sit well with any other type.

"All right now that introductions are over, let's get to practicing." Daniel was stepping in, finally. The silence was killing Scarlett but it had given her time to get a look at everyone.

Maverick was average height, lean but muscular. Black hair that hung all around his face, caked in sweat, green eyes. But what made him stand out was that his lips were pierced.

Castro he was a little taller than Daniel, who was an impressive height. He had brown hair that was spiked and his eyes were almost jet black.

Sloan was sort of short but skinny. Something most unusual for a vampire, shortness. His hair was blonde and his eyes were also unusual. Red. Vampires only had red eyes when they were experiening blood lust but Sloan wasn't. His eyes were just red.

Daniel's sister was another story. She looked exactly like her brother. Brown hair and those green eyes. Skinny and tall. You could almost mistake the two for twins instead of older brother and younger sister.

"All right, Shannon. Let's see what Scarlett can do with your song."

"Are you sure?" Shannon directed the question to Scarlett, who only nodded her head and took her drum sticks back out of the bag and resumed her permanent seat behind the drum set. "I'm taking that as a yes. The name of the song is Going Under." Shannon took her spot at the microphone and into playing they went.

As the song went on, Daniel went and stood beside Scarlett, watching. Admiring.

"Scarlett?" He asked. She only turned her head to him as she contined playing. "Would you give me a chance to prove to you that i'm not all that bad and don't live up to that reputation about how I dislike every girl?" She nodded her head yes, still playing. "Great. How about after practice you and I go grab some grub and take in a movie? Or we could stay at my house and chill."

The music ended. She thought about which one to choose and couldn't pick what she wanted to do, so she made him wait for an answer. As she gave the last beat of the drums, she turned to him completely. "Either one is great."

Everyone was now looking at them, but they paid them no mind. "Great, let's go." He snatched her up by the arm, her drum sticks still in hand. She managed to grab her bag from the couch as she was dragged out.

"Practice is over. See you guys tomorrow!" Daniel called over his shoulder as he walked on, Scarlett in tow.

"Bye see you guys tomorrow!" Scarlett said as she half turned around to see them all with moths gaped over at the scene playing out before them.

Within seconds both Daniel and Scarlett was gone, leaving the rest of the band in the same spot. Surprised. Shocked. Scared even.

"Shannon, what's up with your brother?" Maverick spoke up.

Shannon only turned around and smiled a toothy grin. "Looks to me as if Daniel is going to change over the next few days boys."

"Uh, why is that?" Castro asked coming up beside Shannon.

"Because Scarlett is Daniel's mate. You can't smell the connection between them?" She said.

The three guys sniffed the air before Sloan spoke. "Oh yeah! I smell it all right. I thought I'd never see the day when Daniel would fall for a girl. Amazing how the first was his mate."

"Not to mention our drummer. I don't think she'll be going anywhere guys so rest assured that looking for another drummer in the future is a no go." Shannon said walking over and grabbing her car keys. "I'll see you guys later."

Last thing the guys heard was Shannon crank up her car and speed down the road.
