I'm Falling for My Best Friend?!? (a Gaara love story) Ch 29 Wars are pointless

You sighed walking back to the hotel. You were happy that you helped 2 of your friends get dates to the festival but you were upset because you didnt know if you were going or not. You knew Gaara wasnt really the type to go to public events. He never did back home. Then again, that was because he was never invited. And normally you didnt go either so you could spend time with him. You smiled. 'I never thought all those years ago that me and Gaara would actually be together....'

You opened you're hotel room door and walked in. It was empty. 'Hmm, I wonder where Gaara is...' You shrugged and went in the bathroom to get a shower. Afterwards, you got changed into your pj's and layed down in bed thinking about the next few days. 'The final exam is in 2 days....and thats when our plan begins.' You sighed. 'Why do we have to start a war?' You had always hated fighting and when Baki told you that you would be helping to destroy the Leave Village you flipped. "Why do we have to start a war with them?! The Leave Village is our ally!!" "Silence _____!" Baki yelled. "This is the wish of the Kazekage. You have no say in what happens!" You glared at him and went to say something else when Kankuro stopped you. "Just let it go _____." You glared at him then back at Baki. "Fine." you finally fave in looking away. You sighed again closing your eyes and drifting off to sleep.

A fewe hours later you were woken up by something on your bed. You slowly opened your eyes and turned to see Gaara sitting on the bed next to you. "Gaara?" you said sitting up. He looked over at you. "_____, you're awake." You nodded. "Where were you earlier?" "Thinking." he said. You nodded again and looked away but not before Gaara saw the sadness in your eyes. "What's wrong?" "Nothing. I'm fine." He glared at you knowing you were lying. You sighed deciding to tell him what was on your mind. "Its just, I dont understand why we have to turn on the Leaf. They're our friends." Gaara just watched you. "I just dont get it. Wars are pointless. Why do we have to be involved in one?" you tried not to cry. Gaara pulled you into a hug and you buried your face in his chest. "It's ok. We'll get through it. Together." you looked up at him and saw him smiling at you. You smiled back as he whiped your tears away. "So, are we going to the festival?" he asked. You looked at him shocked. "You mean....you want to go?" He nodded. "If you want to...." "Well, yes I do. But I know how much you hate being around a lot of people and-" "Its fine." he interupted you."I'll do anything for you." You smiled. "How did I ever get lucky enough to find a guy like you?" He shrugged. "Just dumb luck I guess." You smiled and kissed him before laying down snuggled in his arms.
