The kitchen was bigger than I expected. Actually we sat in the dinning room area, but still, I bet it was big too. The maids around served us some sandwiches and the room looked so huge it could fill at least 100 people, or even more. I sat on one side while Daniel sat across from me. Not the end to end sitting, just across from each other where we could actually hear ourselves talking! Plus, the maids kept watch over us while we ate, which was awkward, but still we talked. We finally finished and stood up from our seats. I was about to take my plate to the kitchen, but one of the maids stopped me and said they would clean up. I usually don’t agree to that, since I’m so used to cleaning the house back home, but Daniel said to just leave it, and so I did.
We were about to reach the doors, when, BAM!
“OUCH!” whoever pushed the door had pushed my nose along with it.
Daniel came over to help me, when I heard an oh so familiar voice.
“Oh! Lily! Sorry about that! I didn’t know you were there!”
Demetri.
He came over to help me too, but Daniel shoved him away, just a little. I was still holding my nose, and Demetri kept apologizing to me, when another person walked in.
“Lily, are you alright?”
Of course, Alexander, or Alex, as he would like to be called.
“Yeah, don’t worry I’m fine.” I rubbed my nose to let the pain drift away.
“Are you sure? I didn’t brake any bones or anything right?” he was still freaking out.
“I’m all right Demetri, don’t worry, see.” I stopped rubbing and smiled up at him.
“Really? Are you sure?”
“Yessssssss, I’m fine.” I was a little irritated now.
“Here let’s go back to the room.” Daniel held on to me and pushed me out the doors past Demetri and Alex, who was still freaking and worried.
“I’m sorry Lily!” Demetri cried back.
“Don’t worry about it!” I answered, as the doors shut behind us, “Ow” I rubbed my nose again, “that really hurt.”
“You sure you don’t need any ice?” Daniel reassured me.
“I’m fine, once I get to the piano.” I grinned at him.
He smirked and said, “I never knew you attracted doors too.”
I punched him in the face.
“Shut up and hurry, slow poke.” I stomped ahead of him
We finally got to our rooms when Daniel’s phone went off. He told me he’ll be in my room in a little, so he walked into his own room and closed the door behind. I opened my own door and closed it behind me holding on to the handle. I looked at my room and sighed.
“Might as well take a shower then.”
“Play Vanessa Carlton-Ordinary Day.” his eyes were still closed, but I knew he was still awake.
“Are you serious?” I asked a little confused, “Why this song of choice? And do I have to sing too?”
I opened the top lid, then sat down to open the cover over the keys.
“You’d be surprised and yep.” was all he said when he motioned me to play.
I rolled my eyes and sighed. I ran my fingers across the keys slowly, then let my fingers move closing my eyes as I sang along to the tune.
Just a day just an ordinary day
Just tryin’ to get by
Just a boy just an ordinary boy
But he was looking to the sky
And as he asked if I would come along
I started to realize
That everyday he finds just what he’s looking for
Like a shooting star he shines
And he said take my hand
Live while you can
Don’t you see your dreams lie right in the palm of your hand
And as he spoke he spoke ordinary words
Though they did not feel
For I felt what I had not felt before
And you’d swear those words could heal
And as I looked up into those eyes
His vision borrows mine
And I know he’s no stranger
For I feel I’ve held him for all of time
And he said..
Take my hand
Live while you can
Don’t you see your dreams lie
right in the palm of your hand
In the palm of your hand
Please come with me
See what I see
Touch the stars for time will not freeze
Time will not freeze can’t you see?
Just a dream just and ordinary dream
As I wake in bed
And that boy, that ordinary boy
Was it all in my head
Didn’t he ask if I would come along
It all seemed so real
But as I looked to the door
I saw that boy standing there with a deal
And he said
Take my hand
Live while you can
Don’t you see your dreams lie right in the palm of your hand
In the palm of your hand
Oh in the palm of your hand
Just a day just an ordinary day
Just tryin’ to get by
Just a boy just an ordinary boy
But he was looking to the sky
When the song died down I reopened my eyes, and heard clapping. Daniel looked up from the bed as I turned around to face the door. And standing there with his hands together was, Demetri.
“I didn’t know you could play!” he said coming towards me, then saying, “And sorry, again.”
Ugh, this boy is going to be tough to get used to.
