Recap:
There she was, sitting up and sipping some tea. She looked up when she heard someone enter the room--showing bright, joy-filled chocolate brown eyes-- and smiled weakly. Even a fool could tell that she was beautiful.
Her hair matched her eyes exactly, coming to just below her shoulders, with a few natural highlights. A sprinkle of freckles lightly dotted across her face. Even though her burns and scrapes, you couldtell she was contented and happy with her life.
Beforeit got destroyed, that is, you thought dismally. You put on a smile nonetheless.
"Hello," she said shyly.

"Thank you so much for helping me; not many would've done that anymore.
"I never got to introduce myself; my name is Kumiko Nekodama (I don't know, I just made it up! Kumiko means eternal beautiful child and Yukika means snow flower, btw!) and I'm pleased to make your aquaintance. May I ask your names?"
As usual, Mirok was up first. He said, "Hello, my dear Kumiko. My name is Miroku and would you do me the honor of beari--" He had just picked up her loose hand when you grabbed his ear and said, "Don't even THINK about it, you lecherous MONK!" Sango had an anime vein and was restraining herself so hard that she was shaking violently. Kumiko was giving us an odd look.
"Don't worry about it Kumiko," Kagome said, shaking her head. "I'm Kagome, by the way." She stuck her hand out to shake Kumiko's.
After you calmed Sango down, you walked back over to Kumiko and said, "Hi, I'm Amaya and I'm Kagome's cousin. Pleased to meet you!" She smiled and shook your hand.
"And I'm Sango. You've already met Miroku, and I'm telling you this now; you have all of our permission to slap him if necissary." Sango grinned. Kumiko have a lopsided smile.
"Hey! Don't forget about me!" a small voice said low to the ground. "I'm Shippo!" the little fox demon jumped up on Kumiko's lap. She giggled and ruffled his hair.
Kirara seemed to feel left out too, because she meowed and jumped up next to Shippo.
Suddenly, Kumiko turned to you and said, "Wait--you're Amaya? Who's traveling with the half dog demon Inuyasha?" You nodded, somewhat confused. Her look changed from concerned to horrorstruck.
"What is it?" asked Kagome. Kumiko continued to go wide-eyed and her breath got shallow and hoarse.
"T-the demon that attacked m-my village s-said he was looking for you," she said quietly. "That he needs you for some reason; to lure another demon to him." Now it was your turn to go wide-eyed. Your body stiffened.
"Oh, great!" Inuyasha said, throwing his hands up in the air. "Another demon that want's Amaya!"
"Did you happen to catch his name?" Miroku asked. Kumiko closed her eyes and thought about it.
"Yes," she finally breathed. "His name could strike fear into the bravest of hearts, it's meaning is so sinister...Naraku." Her voice trembled as she spit his name out.
"Son of a bitch, I knew I smelled him there!" Inuyasha yelled and started pacing the room. "I should've looked around better; I might've had a chance at killing him. Damn it!"
"It'll be okay, Inuyasha," Kagome said. "We'll just have to be on our toes more often."
"Kagome's right," said Sango. "We'll get our chance at him. And stop pacing! you're making me dizzy just watching you!" Inuyasha "hmph"ed absentmindedly, but stopped nonetheless.
"How about we quit talking about such unnerving things and get our mind off it?" Kagome suggested. "Like...What did you do in your old village, Kumiko?"
"Oh, I was the top medical specialist in it," she replied, grinning. "I could heal almost any injury; broken bones, deep cuts, even down to nosebleeds."
"How?" asked an amazed Shippo. This even caught Inuyasha's attention.
"Well..." Kumiko hesitated. "I-I haven't exactly told anyone before...But I think it's time to let the secret out finally. It's a long story, so you had better get comfortable." You all nodded silently and sat down around the bed. She took a deep breath, and started.
