"George?" I called as I stumbled into the Gryffindor common room for the second time.
"He's gone." I heard a voice drift over from the other side of the room.
"Ron?"
He turned to me with a grim expression on his face.
"What's wrong?" I sat down on the floor next to him in front of the fireplace.
"Nothing..." he trailed off.
I raised an eyebrow at him and he turned away from me.
"Okay...I'm scared."
"The first task?" I assumed.
"Yeah, I'm not cut out for this..."
"You won't be if you keep saying that." I smiled reassuringly. "Look, your name was drawn for a reason...an unknown reason, but a reason nonetheless. Now, you can either make this the opprotunity of a lifetime or the end of your lifetime...I like the first choice."
A tiny smile formed on his face, the light on the fire shimmering off his already red hair.
"I believe in you, Ron." I wrapped my arms around his neck for a friendly embrace.
He hugged me back passionately. I could tell that he needed a hug from someone other than his mother.
"Thanks, Marilyn." he told me, backing out of our hug.
"Yeah, you're the best, Lyn." an angry voice came from the doorway.
There stood George with hurt glinting off his beautiful eyes.
"George!" I exclaimed, jumping up. "I've been looking for you!"
"It doesn't look like it." he glared at his younger brother.
"Huh?" I glanced in Ron's direction, finally getting why George was acting that way.
"George, I was just giving him some encouragement." I told him innocently.
"Whatever you say, Backstabber." he took for the dormitory stairs and I rushed to stop him.
"Look, I came down here looking to apologize, but if you don't accept it, that's your decision."
"It's a good thing it is my decision because I don't accept." he pushed me to the side and stormed up the stairs.
"Why are you acting as if I've been cheating on you? We were never together!" I shrieked lividly.
A door slammed and a pair of feet stomped down the stairs.
"You wanna know why we were never together?" he shouted in my face. "Because you keep giving me these mixed signals, Marilyn!"
I fell silent, studying his face.
"I can't keep this up, I can't be a simple bystander. I want to be with you, so much you have no idea, but you keep switching up the rules to your little game."
"George, I-"
I was cut off by the most beautiful occurance ever to have happened to me. George leaned down to my eye level and brought his lips to mine. He tasted of sweets and sincere love. I kissed him back eagerly. It was the sweetest kiss I had ever experienced and when it ended I wished it hadn't.
"Lyn...I'll blow Padma off if you want to go to the ball with me." he looked me in the eyes hoping for the best answer that would land us both in heaven on earth, but I couldn't give him that answer.
"George, I'm so sorry...but I-"
"Always lead people on in the wrong direction...I get it, Marilyn...You'll never love me the way I love you."
"No, I didn't say that!"
He was already on his way up the stairs, his world crumbling down with each step. I buried my face in my hands with defeat.
I sighed and took to the door, "Goodnight, Ron."
"Night, Marilyn...Sorry 'bout my brother...He doesn'tknow a good thing when he sees one." Ron told me with a smile, getting up to go to bed.
"Thanks, Ron. I'll be there to root you on tomorrow." I replied, stepping out into the hall.

"Sorry for being so rude in the hallway last night...I had assumed wrong." I said to Ferra as we marched up the hill to the arena where the First Task would be taking place.
"It's fine...I had no idea why you did it though..." she forgave me.
"Oh, well, I'll tell you later."
"Bets! Bets! Bet on your favorite Tri-Wizard Champion!" the twins made their way through the crowd.
"Hello Ladies!" Fred stopped to speak with us, but George kept walking once he saw my face.
Fred glanced at him and groaned. "Guess I better keep going...See you at dinner, guys!"
"Bye!" Ferra and I waved, Ferra grinning, me frowning.
"Let's get a move on!" I shouted excitedly, trying to hide my foul mood.
I took Ferra's wrist and half drug her into the Champion's tent.
"Ronnie!" I waved crazily, going over to him.
"God, you better do good." I told him, only half joking.
"How are you?" Ferra asked as I twitched madly and glanced in every direction.
"Oh, I'm fine...A bit nervous." he answered truthfully.
"Well, there's no reason to be..." she lied. "But, I'm a bit worried too."
Ferra jumped into Ron's arms without warning, but Ron caught her before they both stumbled back and hugged her lovingly.
A sudden flash made us all jump, and from a fog a smoke, out stepped my psycotic aunt, Rita Skeeter.
"Young love!" she exclaimed, walking toward us, staring hugrily at Ron and Ferra. Her next great story.
"I'll pay you five galleons not to publish the photo!" I bribed her, knowing what nonsense she was capable of making people believe.
She thought it over for a second and accepted the five galleons I had to offer. You're wondering how I could have five galleons just to give out like it's nothing, well my family is very wealthy and in my mother's will, I got half of the Cassidy fortune...Which would last me three lifetimes.
"Very well, this picture won't make the headlines." she told me.
Her photographer snapped a picture of my relieved face and she stormed out.
"We better get going." I warned Ferra.
"Yeah, good luck, Ron." she hugged him again.
"Good luck." I hugged him as well.
"Thanks guys..." he smiled dorkishly.
Ferra and I were on our way out when someone grabbed my hand and pulled me back.
"No good luck for me?" Cedric asked me, with the cutest grin on his face.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" I had completely forgotten he was there too. "Good luck!"
I gave him a peck on the cheek and walked out, knowing he wanted more than that. I turned back to savor the lost expression that would be on his face...But, instead I found happiness. WTF! I will never understand the emotions of men.

"Yeah! The dragonslayer!" the twins chimed with Ron on their shoulders.
The Gryffindor's went wild. They cheered and clapped for their champion, Ron Weasley.
"Come on, Ron! What's the clue?" Seamus threw him the golden egg Ron had retrieved.
"Who wants me to open it?" Ron asked the crowd.
He took the screaming as a yes and twised the egg open. An ear-spitting shriek erupted from the inside and everyone covered their ears, the twins accidently dropping Ron in the process. He quickly closed it and we all straightened up, wondering what the fuck that clue could lead to.
"What the hell was that?" someone asked from the dormitory entrance.
I turned and smiled. It was Harry. I looked at Ferra and her expression was the exact opposite of mine.
"Okay, everybody back up, this is gonna be uncomfortable enough as it is without your noses listening to every word." Fred broke up the crowd so Harry and Ron could work out their differences.
I jumped out of my seat to find George. But, when he saw me coming, he started for the exit. I followed him out into the hall, but when I got outside, he was nowhere to be seen.
"George?" I called down the hall. "George?"
I began down the hall, needing to tell him how horrible I felt for leaving him hanging the other night.
"George?" I whispered this time becauseI had remembered it was already past the time in which all students must be in their rooms.
