The Next Avatar (Zuko) The Temple of Aang; Katara's Tears!

[A Year After The Final Battle]

(Spirit World)

"Aang?!" I called, running toward the boy sitting on the ledge of the clift. "Aang!" Turning around, he jumped up and smiled.

"Melody!" he shouted, now running toward me. Metting half way, I wrapped my arms around him and smiled. "Melody it,s awful!" he said sadly. "I failed. I let everyone down." Embrassing him lovingly, I did my best to console the now sobbing boy.

"It's ok, Aang." I whispered, sitting down and holding him in my arms as if he were my own child. "You may not have succedded in what you were sent to do, but you made a very big difference in every life you met." Aang looked up at me with wide teary eyes. "You incouraged people to take a stand for what they believe in and changed Prince Zuko's way of life for the good of his life and the world. You gave hope to those who thought it lost." Aang smiled and wrapped his arms around my neck.

"Thanks, Melody. I guess I needed to hear that." I smiled and hugged him back. "Now I know just because I'm home wasn't why you were in such a rush to get to me." He pulled away and sat on his feet infront of me. "What's going on?" I blushed and looked down. "Melody?" Looking up, I moved my bangs away from my forehead to reveal a black star. Aang gasped. "Your..... the new Avatar?" I nodded. "Then that means......"

"I'm leaving tonight, Aang." My words made him look away sadly. "I'll give your love to that water tribe girl." At the sound of my statment, Aang's head poped up.

"Katarta?!" I nodded. Aang stood up and pulled a neckless from within his shirt, holding it out to me. "Will you.... give this to her?" I held out my hand and excepted the neckless, sliding it into my pocket.

"I will." Smiling, Aang hugged me.

"Thanks." I smiled and held him, noticing the stars on my hands blinking. We pulled apart and Aang looked from the stars to my eyes. "Your leaving already?" he asked sadly.

"I guess so." Reaching out, he took my hands and looked into my eyes.

"You'll find my friends in the Water Temple beside the Southern Water Tribe." I nodded and in no time at all, Aang was gone.....

[Living World]

Opening my eyes, I found myself down to the earth where a boy stood staring up at me with wide blue eyes, long green hair, and his mouth hanging open. Touching the ground, I dropped to my knees, my hands touching the ground. "Who are you?" I asked, looking up at the strangly dressed young man. He snapped out of his gaze.

"My name is Cole of the Earth Tribe." He extended his hand and helped me up.

"I am Melody, the-"

"The Avatar?" he whispered, staring at the top of my hands. I looked at him lsightly suuprised and nodded. "So they were telling the truth. Aang did fail." I looked away sadly.

"Unfortunatly." Pulling out a whistle, I put it to my lips and blew it. Cole stared at me for a long time.

"I, ugh, think your whistle's broken." Laughing softly, I pointed to the sky. Cole's eyes followed my gesture and he looked up as a black winged horse flew down, landing gravefully infront of us. "Mizu!" Running toward the flying horse, I hugged her neck fondly. "I've missed you as well, my friend." Nuzzleing her nose against my shoulder, I giggled from her movements. "I'm glade your ok." Turning around, I found Cole staring at us."Are you coming?" He blinked.

"Where?" I jumped onto Mizu's back and smiled down at him.

"To the southern Water Temple in search of a girl named Katara." Mizu kneeled down as I offered him my hand.

"What-the-heck?" Taking my hand, I pulled him onto her back behind me and we took off. Once she got her speed going, Mizu begain to flap her large beautiful wings, and soon, we were soaring through the air. "If you don't mind me asked, what is your buisness with Katara?" I glanced back at Cole and smiled.

"Lets just say at the moment I'm playing delievery girl." Cole nodded and sat quietly behind me as we searched for the Water Tribe.

(Katar's P.O.V.)

"Come on, Katara. You gotta start cheering up. It's been over a year now." Looking back, Katara glared at her brother before turning back to the startue of Aang. Sokka sighed. He didn't like seeing his sister this way. It hurt him. "Your not the only one who misses him, ya know! We all do, but we don't mope around pushing the ones the love us and are still alaive away!" Angry by the way his sister was acting, Sokka turned and stormed out of the room, leaving more tears running down Katara's face.

(Chiko's P.O.V.)

"There. Down there." Looking down, Cole looked at me like I was nuts.

"Can you see something I can't, cause all I see is water." I laughed moving my hands in a circle around us, forming an aire bubble before taking hold of Mizu's maine.

"Let's go, girl. Straight down!" Letting out a strong neaigh, Mizu dove down, her wings flapping rapidly. Cole held onto my waist in the flash of an eye.

"Your fucking nuts!" he shouted. I smirked, leaning forward with Mizu who moved like a tornado through the clear blue water. Cole gasped. "It's beautiful." I nodded.

"Yea. It is." Finally reaching the doors of the temple, I pushed them open with waterbending and Mizu made it to the opening where there was air. "Good gir, Mizu. You did wonderful." Rubbing the bride of her nose, I kissed her and lead Cole further into the passage way.
