It’d been about a week since the boys and Ally and Sarah left.
Ally had somehow managed to stop her small panic attack at her first concert to perform the necessary 6 songs, which was amazing, before NLT came out and performed.
Sarah and Kevin, from NLT, had taken a little bit of a liking to each other, talking a little bit more everyday and flirting quite a bit.
Kevin and Liz talked a little bit everyday. Not long though. Literally about 10 minutes each day because then he would have to go and do something or she had to get some sleep for school or work.
Nick and Ally were doing…ok. She voiced up how she felt about Brianna and Nick told her that she was crazy to think like that. He loved her and only her. There was nothing that she needed to worry about, but for some reason, she couldn’t get past the weird feeling that he might like her just a little bit.
If he did, she wanted him to admit it instead of lying her during every phone call. But at the same time she didn’t want to hear him say he liked another girl. It was catch 21 for her, not knowing what she really wanted to hear.
Joe and Steph were going through withdrawal for one another. But they managed day by day, sending each other pictures and videos saying things like, “I love you and I hope you have a GRR-ATE! day today.” or something along those lines. Plus, they talked as much as possible. She even talked him into letting her stay up an hour later so that she could talk to him after their concerts.
But nobody could’ve seen the big turn events coming their way.
Nobody.
><
“We can only stay about 15 minutes or so before they realize that we left.” Ally said quickly, giant smile on her face while Nick came up to her and wrapped her up in a hug that made her feet leave the ground.
“I missed you soooooo much. You don’t even know.” Nick said, smile on his face as well, and planted a kiss on her, not caring who else was watching or in the room for the matter.
“Man…now I miss Steph even more!” Joe whined while letting his hands hit the sides of his legs to show how sad he was.
“Dude, you just say her like 2 days ago at the concert!” Kevin said after giving Ally a hug since Nick finally let her go long enough to do that.
“I know. But that doesn’t even count. I only saw her for like 2 hours cuz of stupid traffic. I told her and Liz to leave earlier but nooo….no one listens to me. Not when the package is this pretty.” he said and pointed at his face at his last comment, making Ally and Sarah laugh.
“Whatever.” Joe scoffed while throwing himself down onto the couch that was in the room and crossed his arms over his chest, clearly having a temper tantrum.
“So how did you girls sneak out anyways?” Kevin asked, tearing his eyes away from Joe and his hissy fit to land on the two laughing girls.
“We said we had to go get dressed and go to the bathroom. Girls normally take forever so they’ll never know.” Sarah said after her laughing subsided and took a seat next to Joe on the couch.
“I’m so happy you’re here. I’ve missed you so much.” Nick said excitedly, wrapping Ally up in another hug.
Even a week of not seeing her and he was already losing his mind. He was so happy to be able to see her and hold her in his arms, it made him want to never let her go again.
“I know. Me too. I’ve missed you like crazy. You can even ask Sarah.” she said while giggling at his constant hugs and kisses either on the cheek or lips.
He’d never really been the affectionate type of person. Especially in front of his brothers or others for that matter. Not that she was complaining. It was probably just what being away from each other for so long. It just brings out the affectionate side of everyone. Wanting to do nothing but touch that person whenever their around, just to feel closer to them.
“So, next week you guys are coming to our concert in Texas right?” Sarah asked, looking away from the reunited couple with a small smile on her lips.
She saw how upset Ally got when Brianna and Nick first met. She played with that Tomagotchi until Nick had called her and they talked about how she felt. But that talk and all those feelings she had, seemed to melt away once she saw him.
“Yeah. And the week after that you’re coming to ours in Tennessee. Correct?” Kevin asked, sitting down at the small table with a sheet of paper in front of him to write down which one of the shows the girls were coming to.
“Yep.” Ally said, finishing hers and Nick’s conversation and made her way towards the couch, taking a seat next to Sarah while Nick sat on the couch arm, his arm sprawled across the back of the couch.
“I can’t believe that we’re really doing this. It seems like yesterday we were singing in the studio and then got signed!” Sarah said to Ally, clearly having the affect of everything going on, hitting her now.
She was a little slow when it came to things like that.
“Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s crazy!” Joe said while throwing his hands up into the air before getting up from the couch to get a water bottle from the mini fridge in the room.
Right as he shut the door to the mini fridge, the door to the room opened and the brown haired girl, Brianna, ran into the room, and engulfed Nick in a hug, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.
“Did you see me Knick Knack?! Did ya, did ya?” she asked excitedly, barely noticing Sarah and a somewhat pissed off looking Ally.
“Yeah Bri. I saw your first two songs. You’re amazing!” he said back excitedly while hugging her before she proceeded on to Joe and Kevin.
Sarah saw how pissed Ally looked after seeing that hug, and she knew that it was only going to get worse since Brianna settled down slightly and made her way back to Nick.
“I’m gonna go shower now and change for the meet and greet for afterwards. Bye!” she said while doing a quick one hand wave and giving Nick a wink before exiting the room as swiftly as she came in.
“She seems….nice.” Sarah said, nervously looking at Ally since she looked more pissed off than ever at the wink she saw Brianna give her fiance.
“Yeah. She’s cool. Kinda easily sidetracked but for the most part a fun person to be around.” Nick said while smiling at Joe and Kevin as they agreed by nodding their heads along with his compliment.
Nick, sometimes you need to learn when to shut your mouth!
“Well, we should be heading back now before they realize that we left. It was nice seeing all of you and I can’t wait till you come to our show.” Sarah said, getting up from the couch and pulling Ally with her to give a hug to Joe and Kevin first so she didn’t snap at Nick.
Ally already didn’t like the Brianna girl from the first time she saw her, but now she hated her guts. With her giant hug with a kiss on the cheek, and the wink at the end. It was like Brianna was asking for Ally to beat the crap out of her.
“Ok. Call me whenever you’re done then.” Nick said, reaching for Ally to give her a hug.
“Why don’t you call me since you’re gonna be busy.” she shot back at him and gave him a quick hug. One that if you didn’t know that they were dating, let alone engaged, looked like it was out of courtesy instead of love.
“Ok…” Nick said confused as to why she had snapped that at him, but gave her a quick kiss on the cheek anyways.
She just fake smiled at him from his kiss and then made her way out of the room with Sarah at her side.
Neither of them said anything as they walked down the long corridors of the venue and making it outside, going towards their own across the street.
“Ally…” Sarah asked out once they reached the bathroom and finished changing.
“What?” Ally snapped at her while pulling a shoe on.
“What’s wrong?” she asked scared and took a step away from Ally incase she tried hitting her or something.
“He has a frickin’ nick name for her! Bri! Ugh! And her nickname for him. Knick Knack! They’ve only known each other for a week and already have nicknames. Don’t you find that weird? He didn’t even come up with a nickname for me yet and we’re frickin’ engaged! Plus, she‘s giving him kisses on the cheek! In front of me! What else is she kissing when it‘s just the two of them?!” she yelled, applying make-up hastily in the mirror while Sarah stood there scared from Ally’s outburst.
“What. Ever.” Ally said after she finished her make-up and fluffing her hair up one more time. “I have a show to do. So I’m gonna put this on hold. Come on Sarah. Let’s go.” she finished, and turned to leave, not even waiting for Sarah to respond to her.
“This is defiantly not good.” Sarah mumbled under her breath and jumped when she heard Ally scream her name from outside the bathroom door.
* * * * *
“Holy! Is she breaking stuff or something? I’m hearing glass breaking!” she asked in a astonished voice from the other end of the line.
Sarah sighed out and took a few steps away from the door that she locked herself behind in the hotel room.
“Yeah. She’s just…a little bit upset.” Sarah said and then cringed when she heard another loud shatter of one of the mini glass bottles from the fridge that was in the room, break.
“About what?” Steph asked back and Sarah cringed again from thinking about the answer.
“UGH! WHAT KINDA NAME IS BRIANNA BAILEY?!?! SHE HAS LIKE...TWO FIRST NAMES!” Ally yelled throughout the room, taking out another little bottle from the mini fridge and smashing it into the kitchen areas sink.
“Basically, she met Brianna today. Actually, she saw her instead of meeting her for about 30 seconds before Brianna left. And she saw how Nick and her….interact.” she said cautiously and jumped a little when Ally let out an anguished yell.
“Interact? What does that mean? And my goodness she’s really loud. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her that upset before.”
“BRIANNA BAILEY! MORE LIKE BRIANNA THE BANSHEE. CUZ SHE SOUNDS LIKE ONE WHEN SHE SINGS!”
Sarah sighed and took a seat on the toilet, lid down, before answering Steph’s question.
“When we went over and surprised them quickly before their show, Brianna came in the room and gave Nick a hug and a kiss on the cheek.”
“WHAT?! Did she at least do the same for Joe and Kevin?” Steph asked, hoping for Nick’s sake that Brianna did the same towards his brothers.
“Ummm….No. That’s one of the reason’s why she’s so mad. She called him Knick Knack too, at least I think that’s what she called him.” Sarah questioned herself and then jumped again when Ally screamed at the top of her lungs, followed by a glass shatter again.
I’m sure the company is gonna be pretty mad, having to pay for all this stuff she’s breaking.
“Knick Knack? That’s really cute. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that or at least Ally.” Steph answered thoughtfully from how cute the nickname was, completely forgetting about the problem at hand.
“AND KNICK KNACK?! BRI?! HE DOESN’T HAVE A NICKNAME FOR ME!” she yelled, followed by a shatter of glass while she simultaneously played with the tomagotchi in her other hand.
“Well, as cute as it is, Ally hates it. If you haven’t heard. Also, she winked at him before she left the room which just sent her over the edge. It was like the icing on the cake for Ally.”
“SARAH?! GET OUT HERE NOW!”
“Holy Crap she’s loud. And sounds pretty ticked.” Steph said in a shocked tone over the phone, having heard her sister yell.
“Coming.” Sarah said in a scared tone while slowly getting up from the toilet and unlocking the door.
“So she’s mad because of the nickname, the hug, the kiss, and the wink. Maybe, since Brianna wasn’t introduced to you girls, she didn’t know that Ally was actually Ally and just thought you two were fans or something that won a contest. They do those a lot you know. I’m sure it’s just a misunderstanding. I’ll call Joe and figure all this out.” Steph said hurriedly.
She was actually kinda glad she wasn’t there to hear and witness Ally first hand through her temper. But she still pitied Sarah a little, having to be the one to actually be there.
“Ok. But please hurry! She’s got scales for skin now! And I‘m really scared she might kill someone tonight.” Sarah whispered into the phone so Ally wouldn’t hear and possibly be more upset with her comments.
“Scales for skin?” Steph asked, completely confused as to why Sarah would make a comment like that at a time like this.
“Yeah, she’s like a dragon right now. Breaking everything and roaring.” Sarah said and as if on cue for Steph to understand Sarah’s analogy, Ally yelled out a UGH.
“I’m on it. We’ll figure this all out. Just one question though…” Steph added quickly, afraid to hear the answer to question.
“Is she playing with that tomagotchi?”
“She’s barely put it down since she first saw the girl.” Sarah said, ducking from a bottle that slipped out of Ally’s hand.
“Holy Crap! I’m on it. Call you soon!” Steph said and quickly hung up and started dialing Joe’s number almost instantly.
“I MISS YOU!” was how Joe answered his phone in the middle of the second ring.
“I miss you too, but I need to ask you something really quick.” Steph said in a rushed voice. The sooner all of this was fixed, the longer Sarah stayed bruise free.
“Shoot.” Joe said, climbing up into his bunk and waiting for her question.
“Does Brianna know about Ally? Like, how her and Nick are engaged and stuff?” Steph asked, hoping that the answer was yes and that Brianna was just plain dumb.
“Umm…I honestly don’t know. I know Kevin and I haven’t said anything to her about it, it’s not really our place ya know?” Joe asked back, kinda confused as to why this was the reason Steph called him. To talk about his brother and his love life.
“Well, you should ask Nick because Ally has scales for skin right now and I’m so glad I’m not Sarah. And if Nick didn‘t tell Brianna about Ally I swear I‘m gon-”
“Chill woman. I’m sure he said something to her. It’s not like he likes Brianna like that or anything. She’s just our tour mate. Nothing else.” Joe said, making his way out of his bunk and walking towards the back of the bus where Nick, Kevin and Brianna were.
“Nick, can I talk to you for a sec?” he asked, moving the phone away from his ear.
“I’m gonna do a three way call to Sarah so she and Ally can listen in.” Steph said quickly, putting Joe on hold while she dialed Sarah back.
“What’s up Joe?” Nick asked, following Joe toward the front of the bus and taking a seat by the table they had.
“Just gotta a question to ask you about you and Brianna.” Joe said, holding the phone away from his ear still.
“What about Brianna?” Nick asked cautiously, not really seeing where this was going.
“Just wanted to know if you told her about you and Ally? Ya know, that you’re engaged and stuff cuz Ally’s kinda upset.”
“She’s still mad? We already talked about that. I don’t like her. I mean, I like her, but not in a romantic sort of way. She’s just a fun person to be around. Which is good cuz we have to be with her for the another 7 weeks.” Nick said, slouching a little in his seat.
“Ok. But does Brianna know about you and Ally?” Joe asked again, lifting his phone to his ear.
“Umm….” Nick said while looking around the bus, trying to think if he ever mentioned that they were engaged, let alone that they were dating and then finished, “I honestly don’t know. I don’t think I’ve ever said anything to her. But why would I? It’s not like she needs to know.”
Within about 15 seconds, Nick’s phone started to ring from Ally calling him.
“Hey Swee-” he started but he stopped and pulled the phone away from his ear about an arms length away, still able to hear everything that Ally was yelling at him.
“Uh-oh.” Joe said into his phone while he left Nick in the kitchen area of the bus and made his way back to the bunks.
“So I take it Ally’s a little pissed that Nick didn’t tell Brianna about them?” he asked into his phone.
“Apparently, can’t you hear her?” she asked since she still had Sarah on the other line, who put her phone on speakerphone so she could pay more attention to the flying objects around the hotel room.
“Yeah. It’s kinda weird cuz I can hear her through my phone and Nick’s in the kitchen. It’s like surround sound. I just don’t get what she’s so mad about though.” he said into his phone.
“She’s a girl, who’s in love, and doesn’t want to lose him. Plus, apparently Brianna’s pretty flirty with Nick. Have you noticed?” Steph asked, listening to Ally’s yelling in the background of Sarah’s phone.
“Well, she has been kinda flirty. Being on him all the time with hugs and giving him winks and kisses on the cheek. But that’s how all girls are around us.” Joe said nonchalantly.
“Joe, if you noticed you could’ve told her. Did any of you at least mention Ally at all to her when she was all over Nick?” Steph asked, getting irritated more and more with Joe and his brothers for their niaveness.
“I can’t believe it! She frickin’ hung up on me!” Nick exclaimed while slumping into the back of his chair out of shock.
“No, but I’ll call you back. I‘m gonna go help Nick quick.” Joe said quickly and hung up.
“What do you mean she hung up on you?” Joe asked while getting out of his bunk and making his way into the kitchen area and taking a seat across the table from him.
“As in she hit the little red button to end the conversation even though I was talking.” Nick shot back, not in the mood at all for Joe’s dumbass questions.
“Chill dude. What did she say?” Joe asked, leaning into the back of his chair to listen.
“Just that I was wrong in not telling Brianna about her. And when I said why would I come out and tell her straight up that I hade a fiance, she got all mad at me. And then I asked how was I supposed to know to tell her, of all people about us, when we were keeping it all under wraps so it doesn’t get leaked out to the public, and that made her even more pissed.” Nick filled Joe in and watched Joe nod his head in understanding.
“Don’t you kinda find it ironic that you kept your relationship a secret to protect it and now because it was a secret it’s tearing you apart?” Joe asked with a quizzical look on his face.
Nick glared at him and picked his phone up off the of the table to call Ally back.
Maybe she calmed a little bit.
She answered after the first ring but didn’t say anything, just waiting for him to say something first, which he quickly did.
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell her that we were engaged. And I’m sorry for her behavior when you first met her. She was just really excited about her concert.” he said in the calmest voice possible.
He heard her sigh into the phone and shot a quick smile to Joe along with a thumbs up from hearing that, knowing that this was going to be ok. It was like he could see the light at the end of the tunnel again.
“I’m sorry I got all crazy. It’s just that…it makes me so mad when a girl knows when a guy has a girlfriend and yet is all flirty with them anyways. And right in front of the girl too.” Ally said back calmly, only raising her voice slightly at the end to show how pissed off it really made her that Brianna would give Nick a kiss right in front of her.
“It’s not like she knew who you were. She probably just thought you were a fan and didn’t think twice about it.” Nick said, somewhat of a smile on his face and a little laughter in his voice for how good this going.
“What do you mean she didn’t know who I was? Like you didn’t show her a picture or something and that’s why she didn’t recognize me?” Ally asked back, her tone getting a little harsher.
What, like he doesn’t have any pictures of me to show her?
“Well that too. She doesn’t even know about you.” Nick said, leaning back comfortably into his chair from how well the conversation was going compared to a couple of minutes ago.
“What do you mean she doesn’t even know about me? You never told her you had a girlfriend? You never told her when she was all over you, kissing you and flirting with you, that you had a girlfriend?!” Ally yelled through the phone and Nick and Joe’s faces turned from gleeful smiles to scared and worried.
Now Joe knew why Ally was so upset with Nick. It hurt for him to not say that she was his fiance, but it was down right wrong to have not told her he had a girlfriend with the way Brianna was acting towards him.
Nick didn’t say anything back, now realizing where he messed up. So maybe he should’ve said he had a girlfriend, but he didn’t want to come across as a jerk when Briana was being so nice to him.
How weird that sound if she came over and gave him a hug for the first time and he said, “Ugh you can’t do that. I have a girlfriend.” Pretty stupid and rude, at least to him. Plus he was so used to girls giving him hugs and kisses on the cheek. It kinda came with being famous.
“Ya know what Nick, how about you just go flirt it up with Brianna since you apparently forgot you had a girlfriend.” Ally yelled at him and then quickly hung up.
He sat there, phone still to his ear and looked at Joe who had a wincing face on, like he got punched really hard in the arm or something, from hearing Ally’s words.
Nick took his phone away from his ear only to hit the re-dial button to Ally, starting to panic from her words.
Did she just call of the engagement? Or even worse, did we just break up?
She answered halfway through the first ring and yelled, “I don’t want to hear it. It’s to late to apologize.” and hung up on him again, only now making him angry instead of worried. She wouldn’t even let him talk!
“It’s too late….” Joe sang softly, making Nick throw his phone down onto the table and glare at his brother.
So, sure, he didn’t tell Brianna that he had a girlfriend, but she was just being nice to him. It’s not like she actually liked him. She acted like all the other girls.
“It’s too late to apologize….” Joe sang quietly, but not quiet enough cuz Nick’s head snapped up at him and sent him a dirty look.
Joe quickly got up from the chair and made his way back towards where Kevin and Brianna were in the back of the bus while Nick picked up his phone to call Ally again.
As he hit the re-dial button, again, Nick heard and felt vibrating throughout the bus from the bass being turned up for the song that was coming from the back.
“I’m holding on a rope, got me 10 feet off the ground!” he heard Kevin, Joe and Brianna yell at the top of their lungs over the music itself.
As the phone rang, they continued to sing the song and when it went straight to Ally’s voicemail he hung up and tried again.
This was ridiculous. He kinda understood where Ally was coming from but still…how could she be that upset at him for not telling Brianna about her?! How long would he get the silent treatment from her.
“But Wait! You tell me that you’re sorry, didn’t think I’d turn around. And say!” they continued to sing at the top of their lungs while Joe ran to the front of the bus to get their driver in on the singing.
Ally actually picked up the second time that he called and heard Joe yell while running back to the back of the bus, “It’s too late to apologize. It’s too late!”
“Ya know what Nick. Joe’s right.” she said after listening to Joe sing that part as it faded off into the background from his running.
“What?” Nick asked, confused as ever but his answer was more singing of the song, but this time including Ally.
“It’s too late to apologize. Nick.” she threw in before singing, “It’s too late.” and then hung up on him.
Nick squeezed his eyes together from frustration and yelled at the top of his lungs when there was a lull in the music, “TURN THAT OFF NOW!”
Within a few seconds the music came to an abrupt halt and then the three guilty parties made their way out of the back room towards Nick.
“What’s wrong Knick Knack?” Brianna asked, taking a seat next to him and enclosing one of his hands in both of hers.
“Nothing.” Nick shot back at her while pulling his hand out of hers and getting up from his seat.
“What’s going on?” Kevin asked curiously from Nick’s strange behavior.
“Ally.” was all Joe said and Kevin nodded his head in understanding, but Brianna looked at up at them and asked, “Who’s Ally?”
“Who know’s anymore!” Nick yelled while throwing his arms up into the air and made his way to the back of the bus.
“I think I’m gonna call Steph. Excuse me.” Joe said quickly and pulled his phone out of his pocket to call her, making his way closer towards the front of the bus to get a little bit of privacy.
“What happened?” was how she answered her phone.
“I’m not really sure.” Joe answered honestly, sneaking a quick glance to the back of the bus to see if Nick was still in there.
“Well you better find out soon because my sister just called me crying hysterically. I couldn’t understand a word she was saying except Nick, apologize, and jerk.” Steph shot back at him, her angry rising because her sister was so upset and she wasn’t able to be there for her.
“So he messed up and didn’t tell Brianna about Ally. Big deal. It’s n-”
“What do you mean he didn’t tell Brianna about Ally? Just the whole fiance thing, right? Nothing else? Please tell me there’s nothing else Joe…” she begged over the phone, but knowing there was more to the story than what she hoping.
“Umm…ok. He didn’t tell her about the fiance thing and that’s it.” Joe said back to her in an unconvincing tone.
“Don’t mess around Joe.” Steph barked at him, making him snap back, “You told me to tell you that was all there was.”
“Just tell me Joe…” she sighed out into the phone.
“Well, he didn’t tell her at all about Ally. Not even that she was his girlfriend.” Joe answered her in a worried tone.
“Your brother is freakin’ moron! All of you are morons! Why didn’t one of you say anything when she was all over Nick?” Steph yelled into the phone, making Joe pull the phone away from his ear from how loud she was.
“Don’t say that about me and my brothers!” Joe shot back at her, his anger starting to rise now and then continued to say, “And why would I say anything? You’re the one who told me to stay out of other people’s business and not give advice.” he shot back, sitting up a little bit straighter in his seat and glaring straight ahead of him, as if Steph could see him.
“Well you could have at least told Nick to tell Brianna about Ally.” she shot back at him.
“That would be giving advice!”
“No! It would be common sense!” she shot back into the phone while Joe pulled his phone away from his ear and covered the mouth piece while he let out an angry yell.
“Whatever Steph. Be like that. I don’t care.” he shot back into the phone and when he didn’t get any reply back from her, he started to get worried.
“I’m sorry Steph. I didn’t mean that. I just meant that I don’t care what goes on with Ally and Nick cuz it’s not our problem.” he said quickly to try and apologize to her, but there was still response.
“I’m Sorry!” Joe practically yelled into the phone in a begging manner.
He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath from the silence he was still receiving from her end of the conversation.
When he opened his eyes he looked around the bus to see if anyone was around, knowing what he’d have to say to get her talk again, but it was to embarrassing to say it with people around.
After a few more minutes of scanning the area around him, making sure no one was in the bathroom or going to walk in on him, he whispered into the phone, “Miss Piggy? Miss Piggy? It’s me. It’s your Kermie. Please talk to me. I’m sorry.”
When Steph and Liz came to visit the boys, they had about three bags of McDonalds sitting in the car and Joe ended up calling Steph Miss Piggy. And to make her not upset about it, he found a green shirt, put it on and called himself Kermit the frog for the rest of the time that she was there to make her feel better. He knew that whenever she would be mad at him, that calling himself Kermit would make her less angry since it had worked a few days ago. At least, he hoped it would work.
As he sat there for a few more minutes in silence, he lost it.
“Fine. Be that way. I’ll talk to you later. Good night!” he yelled into the phone and pulled it away to end the phone call, but when he did, he saw the picture of him and Steph on his background. Indicating that she had hung up some where along the way and probably didn’t hear anything that he just said for the last 5 minutes.
“Crap.”
