Stolen Kisses and Forgotten Pride (DM)

Eventually the sorting finished, and food was placed on the table, if there was one thing Raven had missed about Hogwarts, it was the feasts, and today Raven felt the ytasted just as delicious as before.She ate as much as she could, and felt she was going to burst, until she downed some pumpkin juice. After that Raven felt a lot better, and took a side glance at the girl sitting next to her, she was picking at her food, with her hair over her face.
"Hey, how come you're not eating?"Raven asked the girl, with just the reply of a shrug of the shoulders. Raven was puzzled by the reply, but she was not one to judge and so asked for her name.
"So, what's your name?" Raven asked the girl politely.
"Why are you talking to me?" the girl replied lifting her head up slightly, so Raven could see her face.
"Well, i'm talking to you, because i felt you needed someone to talk to," Raven replied with a smile. This made the girl feel a bit better, somebody was actually caring about her rather then themself. This lead to her deciding to try Raven, it had been so long since she'd had somebody to talk to.
"My name's Tara Johnson, nice to meet you Raven," Tara replied to Raven, after a few moments of silence. Raven smiled.
"Nice to meet you too Tara, so what goes on around here?" Raven asked acting clueless she wasn't going to let anyone know she'd been here before.
"Well, the only thing i can say is keep away from Slytherins, them and Gryffindor have never got along, surprised we aint killed each other yet," said Tara with a slight laugh at her comment.
*Ah, so the war is still going on between Gryffindor and Slytherin* Raven thought with a roll of the eyes.
"I'll have to keep that in mind," Raven told Tara, making her smile.
"So which school you from?" asked Tara, turning her body to talk to Raven.
"Oh, i come from Beauxbatons," Raven replied with a sigh.
"Really?!" Tara exclaimed. "What's it like there?" Tara asked with a genuine interest with the school, with all the competitions they've won in the past.
"Not too bad actually, the curriculum is a lot stricter over there, which means that classes are slightly more advanced, but only just. Of course it's a girls only school, but i didn't mind that, personally i think lads are jerks most the time," Raven replied with a roll of the eyes, and a smile. Tara burst out laughing, causing a couple students to turn in her direction, but soon they went back to eating.
"I agree there,"Tara replied breathlessly, with a smile.
"So are you going to show me to the common room?" Raven asked politely.
"Yeah, sure," replied Tara getting up from her seat and gesturing for Raven to follow.
"Well, with common rooms we have a password that only Gryffindor's know, so try not to forget it, at the moment the password is 'wise as an eagle'. You got that?" Tara asked and Raven nodded with a smile."Good" Tara said.
"Well here we are" Tara said after walking up some staircases and reaching the portrait of the fat lady. "Wise as an eagle" Tara muttured and pushed Raven inside. All she did was stand and stare.
"Hey, aren't you going to gasp or anything, i did when i first got here,"Tara asked looking at Raven puzzled, who was still showing no emotion on her face. Before Tara got to curious Raven decided to act like normal newcomers.
"Wow, it's beautiful," Raven said with a smile and wondered slowly into the room and sat on an armchair near the fire.
"It is isn't it" Tara said plonking herself down on the carpet next to the fire. "I love it here, it's like my home away from home. You know you're the first friend i've had for a while," Tara said as if in a trance as she gazed into the fire.
"Really?" Raven asked. "How come? You seem really great to me," Raven said trying to make Tara feel better as a sad expression had appeared in her eyes, Raven was good at seeing people's emotions through their eyes, she'd got the gift out of habit.
Tara smiled at Raven's comment, someone actually wanted to be her friend after all this time.
"Well a couple years ago, i was having some trouble with my parents at home. The arguments we were having were getting rather heated, and it was mainly because of me, I'd made friends with a boy called Kyle, he was really nice and we made a great pair, always getting revenge on the Slytherins," Tara started with a smirk, as Raven listened intently. "We'd made friends back in 2nd year and friends all the way up to 5th, but that's when it changed. Kyle seemed to want more then friends, i mean i didn't mind he was great, and made me happy all the time, so i decided to date him for a while, but one night we got a bit too carried away, and i saw a new side of Kyle, it was more exhilarating and a lot more forceful shall i say. Well before i knew it we had gone all the way, didn't mean to, and didn't want to, i mean i was only 15 for christ sake, but i was weak that night, i didn't have the strength to stop what i was doing even though i knew it was wrong. It was like i was under a spell, but it was simply love. Of course with my luck i ended up pregnant, my mom and dad wanted to kill me, but Kyle, decided to stay by my side no matter what, and so my mom and dad agreed as they knew how powerful Kyle's parents were, and they were really excited about having a baby. Everything seemed perfect, but then one day when i was in school, i followed Kyle, as he was disappearing a lot lately, and it turned out he'd got in trouble with some of his dad's friends, and he owed them a fair bit of money, so they killed him." Tara stopped there as a tear fell down her face. Raven ran over and hugged her.
"Oh my God Tara that is so unfair and sad," Raven said trying to comfort Tara. But she needed to carry on, she'd held this secret for so long.
"And so, as soon as my parents found out about Kyle's death they took over the baby business, and forced me into an abortion, it was so sad. That was the only thing i had left of Kyle and they took it away from me, and now my Dad hates me still, but my Mom forgave me a while back, but has no time for me anymore, i sometimes wander if it was guilt," Tara finished with a sniffle. Raven just hugged her and held her to let her tears fall.
*No girl should go through that* Raven thought to herself.
Eventually Tara calmed down and the pair headed up to bed, it was the first day of classes tomorrow, and they needed an early night. Tara felt better now she'd told someone, and fell asleep peacefully for once.
First thing in the morning the alarm at the side of Raven's bed went off, waking her and Tara rather suddenly.
"Man, Raven you could've warned me you have an alarm," Tara said throwing a pillow at Raven causing her to fall out of bed.
"Oh my God, Raven are you OK?"Tara asked rushing to Raven on the floor.
Raven burst out laughing, and the pair of them just gave each other a geeky smile.
It took the girls a maximum of half hour for them to be ready, with Raven giving Tara a flick of eyeliner, making her eyes stand out. They quickly grabbed their schedules from the side of the bed and headed straight to their first lesson, being potions. Tara groaned at this whereas Raven just smiled.
"I love potions, was one of my best subjects back in Beauxbatons," Raven said to Tara Giving her a smile.
"Lucky you, i hate it and to make it worse Snape hates me," Tara groaned.
*Ah, Snape, i remember him well* Raven thought to herself.
"Surely he aint that bad Tara," Raven replied, Tara looked at her like she was mad.
"Are you kidding me, he's simply the worst," Tara informed Raven as they took there seats, just in time for Snape to walk in.
"Welcome to advanced potions, you are in this class as we believe you can cope with all the pressure and instructions of making a good potion, that might one day save your life,"Snape said glaring at the Gryffindors in the room, with a sneer.
"To start off with i want you to make the blood replenishing potion," Snape said writing up the instructions on the board, and the class set to it.
"Oh, yes!" Raven said with a punch in the air. "I love this potion. It's so simple to make, and it's the most wonderful aqua blue colour," Raven pointed out to Tara's look of complete confusion.
"How do you know all that?" asked Tara.
"Oh, i learnt it at Beauxbatons, like i said i have the knack for good potions," Raven said with a smirk. Tara smiled, she liked this girl.
"Well how can i help?" asked Tara looking for something to do. Raven gave her a smile and they set to work.
It turned out that Raven and Tara had created one of the best potions in the class, even Snape couldn't criticise them with how perfect it looked. This made the pair smile, they were great together.
Their next class was Charms, neither very good at it, but good enough to do it at NEWT, but only just.
"I'm awful at this class," Tara said as they walked to class together.
"Me too, i find it rather confusing," replied Raven.

"Too make it worse, we have Slytherin in this class," Tara scowled. This made both girls squirm. They reached the door and headed inside.
"Hello, children," informed Professor Flitwick, when all were seated. "I understand you all did well in you're past exams. Therefore i'm going to start with something simple but powerful. It is called the 'juicing curse'" squeaked the Professor, everybody turned to him.
"What does it do?" asked a Gryffindor from the front.
"Well, dear it turns the enemy into a fruit of their favourite and fills them with its juice until they explode. Of course i have an antidote here with me in case somebody becomes successful,"said the Professor. "Well begin, all the details are in your textbooks," said the Professor, jumping off his stack of books. A huge noise of page turning was heard for a few minutes, but soon everyone was up on their feet practising the charm.
"Man, this charm is tough," noted Tara to Raven after about 7 tries with not a flicker from their wands.Raven nodded in agreement.
"OK, one more go then we'll give it a rest," decided Raven, and got into the starting position.
She was aiming the curse at Tara, and she was going to try and stop it with a shield charm. Raven breathed slowly and carefully, saying the charm words in her head. After a couple minutes, she shouted at the top of her voice "POLICIA FUNUNGUS!!"and a ray of orange light shot out of her wand, with Tara ducking to not get hit rather then using the shield charm, and instead the charm hit a certain blonde head right in the back. He started expanding and looking like a raspberry, the whole class were in fits of laughter.He was fuming and glaring at everyone.
The Professor gave Raven a quick 'well done' Then headed over to the victim, injecting him with some kind of blue liquid.
Raven turned around hoping he didn't know who had hit him with the charm, but was mistaken. All of a sudden the one person that had caused Raven so much pain in first year, appeared behind her, whisering in her ear in a deadly tone.
"Watch it Jones, you don' know who you're messing wih. You made a complete fool of me, and i don't like it" Draco Malfoy hissed into Raven's ear. She turned around and looked him right in the eyes.
"You can't hurt me anymore Draco Lucas Malfoy," replied Raven venomously,leaving a space between each of his names. She smirked, and walked out, as class had ended, Tara follwing, and leaving a puzzled Malfoy behind.
*Who does, she think she is, standing up to me. I'm gonna make her life Hell* Malfoy thought with a smirk on his face. Boy was he angry.
