Here she was as usual sitting on her bed listening to music, this was one of Raven's daily tasks. Everyday when she got up in the morning she would put on her ipod full blast, so she could get rid of any sleepiness from the night before, and help her get motivated. It actually worked, even at 6am in the morning.
She'd got up so early, becauseshe needed to pop into Diagon Alley quickly to buy herself a pet for Hogwarts. She'd already decided on an owl as she felt this was the quickest way to deliver letters. Raven had never had a pet before and so was excited for the new experience. She was going to pay for the owl out of her own money she'd earned from a summer job at a cafe not far away, her parents didn't agree with it as it was a muggle profession, but Raven didn't care and had grown up to not be like her parents and hate muggleborns and muggles, she felt it was a stupid grudge to hold against a human being, as thats what wizards and muggles were in her eyes, nothing more and nothing less. Unlike her parents point of view.
Well, Raven got up and ready within half an hour and headed straight to the fireplace before her parents woke up and tormented her with all they're sneers of disgust, she may well have been disowned from the family, but that hadn't happened quite yet. Once she reached the fireplace she threw in the floo powder and shouted 'Diagon Alley' as clearly as she could. As soon as she felt ground beneath her feet she headed straight for the pet shop. As she was walking by she noticed how quiet diagon alley was at this time in the morning, and was thrilled when she reached the store, as they're were many owls to choose from, she couldn't decide.
After around 45 minutes she decided on a light, golden brown owl with gorgeous black feathers on its chest that glittered in the sun. She fell in love with it, and quickly handed the shop assistant the money and went straight for the fireplace to take her straight home. She called the owl 'Maggie' as it seemed to fit with the bird's personality somehow
"I'm gonna call you Maggie," she told the bird and it replied with a hoot of content. Raven smiled, she could tell they were going to be good friends.
When Raven reached her house she headed staright to her bedroom to finish packing, ignoring her mom's cries of coming to have breakfast. *She doesn't care anyways* Raven thought to herself, and she listened to music and petted Maggie for the rest of her time before leaving.
As soon as the clockturned 10:25 she ran down the stairs with her suitcasefollowing her down the stairswhile Maggiewas being heldin her cage in front of Raven. Once she reached the bottom her parents were waiting for her, they may not agree with her going back to Hogwarts, but they realised that no matter what they do Raven wouldn't listen anyway, she'd become a bit rebellious over the years.
"Well, honey, have a good time at Hogwarts, and please make some better friends with a larger income," said her mother, trying her best to put on a smile. Her mother hadn't liked her past friends, she felt they were to below her level, but Raven didn't care. Instead of arguing the matter Raven just nodded, knowing that she'd be friends with whoever she wanted to be. Raven's father just waved her off as she entered the car that was to take her to the train station.
She reached the station at exactly 10:45 which gave her enough time to find a compartment with no occupants. As soon as she found one she fell asleep almost immediately, getting up at 6amhad really took its toll on herbody and mind. She slept through the whole journey nearly with not a single person coming to bother her thank goodness, but she woke with a start when the microphone went off saying they'd be reaching Hogsmeade station in 5 minutes. Raven quickly changed into her robes in the compartment, and waited impatiently for her once hell hole to be in sight.
Once the train started to slow Raven left the compartment and headed straight to the exit, which meant she was the first one out and reach a carriage that would drive her up to the castle. Throughout the short ride the castle started getting closer and closer, which intimidated Raven slightly, as she'd never found happiness here like other people. When the carriage pulled up Professor dumbledore met her at the door.
"Miss Jones, how lovely to see you again," he said with his eyes twinkling in the moonlight, and a soft smile in place.
"Hello Professor Dumbledore, nice to see you too," Raven replied as Dumbledore gestered her to follow him to the Great Hall.
"Well Miss Jones, i'm afraid you'll have to be sorted again, as it has been so long since you entered these walls, you may have changed, so please follow the first years, and the hat will sort you again," replied Professor Dumbledore leading Raven behind the long trail of first years.
Raven was getting nervous, she never thought she'd have to be sorted again, and was worried if she was placed somewhere different then before. So as she silently walked into the Great Hall with the thousand of students looking intently at the crowd and herself, she could't help but burn up slightly, she hated stares.
"Hello students, and welcome to yet another year of Hogwarts and to those new, welcome to our humble home," Dumbledore said to the whole of the Hall with a smile, and the sorting started.
Eventually her name was called "Raven Jones" and she was shakinghead to toeas she reached the stool, all eyes were on her, and she felt very concious of herself at that point, and nearly fell of her chair when the sorting hat started talking so loudly in her head.
"Well, Miss Jones, welcome back, and a nice name tohave yourself go by. Anyway onto the sorting, well you are a very smart girl, with the gift of advanced intelligence, you'd do well in Ravenclaw. But also so full of bravery and care you'd do well in Gryffindor also" Raven smiled at this. "But also you have a great gift for thinking of others, with a happy personality, making you a good Hufflepuff. However you also have the gift of slyness, and revenge, making you great in Slytherin. You contain all flaws for all four houses, i feel you can decide,"the hat murmured.
"I'd like Gryffindor, as i was placed there back in first year," Raven whispered to the hat.
"Very well then, Gryffindor!" the hat yelled and you were welcomed with a round of applause from the Gryffindor table, and took a seat right near the end of the table, next to a quiet girl, and waited patiently for the sorting to finish.
Well that was the first one, sorry it was so long, but i have the tendency to add a lot of detail, sometimes a bit too much=D, anyway the next one may also be out today, hope you enjoy!!
