The Black Rose (Chapter Two: A Change Of Scenery)

Jadey was right. There was a window when there hadn’t been before and the place was cleaned up and almost looking new. The girls looked out the window to find that it didn’t have any screen or glass or anything. They were surrounded by water and off in the distance they could make out land. The girls looked down to see that they were in a stone castle and were about a hundred feet or more off the ground.

“Whoa!! What happened? Where are we?” Rayne asked.

“I have no idea,” breathed Jadey.

“Guys I don’t like this! Make it stop! I just want to go home!” cried Seena.

“But you can’t go home. We need you, “the girls raised their heads to see a 17 year old girl. She looked a lot like the first, but her lips were darker and her eyes were blue instead of green, but she still had the same light brown hair and pale complexion.

The girl took a step forward and smiled as the friends coward back.

“Rose?” the voice from before reached the girls’ ears before the actual girl did. “This is no time to play. We have work to do,” said the green eyed girl.

“But Violet, I haven’t had fun in years,” complained the first girl, Rose.

“I know, but we can play after we work,” the second girl, Violet grabbed Rose’s wrist and they were gone.

“Ugggg! This is getting more and more confusing!” cried Seena.

“Well we’re trapped here,” said Rayne tugging on the door.

“You have to do more than that to see if we’re trapped,” Jadey grabbed a small board she found and started hitting the door with it.

After about five minutes of this Jadey finally gave up. Sinking to the floor she said, “Okay, so we are trapped. Now what do we do?”

“We’ll wait for Lania to wake up and then we can decide a course of action,” said Seena sitting down at her friends head. She started to stroke Lania’s short black hair and everyone went back to her own thoughts.

The sun was setting when Lania finally woke up. She groaned and sat up rubbing her head.

“So you’re finally awake,” said Rayne.

“What do you mean by finally?” Lania asked.

“You’ve been out for hours,” Jadey answered.

“Hours!!!” Lania screamed. “Where are we? What’s going on?” She looked around desperately.

“The haunted house has somehow been transformed into a castle and we’re trapped. There are two creepy girls, Rose and Violet I think their names were, say they need us or else they will die. And those items from the table, if we take them off we die a painful death, you figured that one out. But other than that everything’s normal,” said Rayne casually.

Lania stared at Rayne in shock then turned to look at her Jadey and Seena, they each shrugged, indicating that it was true.

“So now what do we do?” Lania asked, more to herself than her friends.

“We wait for those girls to come back than we can start asking questions,” answered Rayne. She came over and sat down with the rest of her friends.

As if they heard her, the two mysterious girls appeared in the room.

“We have some questions for you,” said the girl with the green eyes, Violet.

“As do we,” said Jadey.

“We’re the ones who will ask the questions,” said the second girl, Rose.

“Who are you?” Lania asked anyways.

“We are Rose and Violet. Supreme witch sisters. And after a long endless sleep. You have finally awakened us,” said Violet with a sly grin.

“Our turn to ask the questions,” said Rose when Seena opened her mouth.” How did you come to be here? Why did you wake us?”

Jadey answered. “We came to the haunted house to explore for my birthday. We came into the room with the Black Rose, well I guess it’s this room and found the objects. We grabbed the objects and there you were.”

“Interesting,” said Violet in a far off voice. “I didn’t think four incompetent girls would be the ones to wake us,”

“I agree sister,” Rose crossed her arms.

“What do you mean we awakened you? What happened to you?” asked Rayne, ignoring Violet’s last comment.

“Why should tell you?” asked Rose.

“Because we want to know,” wined Seena.

“That’s a lame excuse,” scoffed Violet.

“But sister, if they awakened us maybe they are the ones that can permanently set us free,” said Rose quietly to her sister.

“How could four weakling girls help us?”

“I don’t know, but if we tell them our story then maybe they can do something,” Rose answered.

“Fine. I’m bored anyways. Now you girls sit down and don’t interrupt me. This is the story of how we came to be in an eternal sleep.”
