Fire Princess

"Matt, you will be training with Lord Ronan. Firena, you shall train with Lady Amber." Firena couldn't help but smile at Korson for telling she and Matt who their trainers were. "Matt, Lord Ronan will be in that room." Korson pointed to a closed door with a painted picture of a blue wave, just over a painted ocean of ice. "Firena, Lady Amber is in there." He pointed to a door with a painted flame within the center. Surrounding the flame was a ring of fire. "They are waiting for you both now. Unfortunately, neitehr are very patient." Korson finally left when he saw the two pupils eagerly enter the two rooms.

"Lady Amber?" Firena received a mental message in return, Yes Firena, I am here. Don't worry, we can communicate mentally from here on out alright? Firena replied, Yes, of course my lady. Suddenly, a lovely woman appeared from the shadows. She appeared to be in her mid-twenties. Her face had a young appearance, and her hair was of a maroon shade. Her eyes were a deep ruby pigment, and she appeared rather thin. She looked to be just a few years older than Firena. She wore a red dress just like Firena's, but of a darker shade. What was weird was the fact that there was a sapphire stone placed on her ring finger. Firena thought to herself, Seeing all of the red makes the sapphire stone seem out of place. Firena thought to Lady Amber, You don't seem as impatient as Korson made you seem. Lady Amber chuckled slightly. I don't become incredibly impatient unless I'm in a fight. Firena silently thought, You fought Korson before then? Lady Amber laughed once more. Yes, I have. We tied the last time we fought. I'm still waiting for a rematch. Anyway, enough talk, I need to see where you stand Firena. Now my dear, lets measure your power. I want you to attack me with a fireball, just one, and I want you to put as much energy as you can into the attack. Firena gave a surprised expression once hearing that, My Lady? Alright. Firena slowly closed her eyes, and allowed the burning energy to rise within her. She slowly felt the fire, no, she became the fire. She began to picture the day she burned the bandits that attacked her. She could actually smell their singed skin as they ran in the opposite direction. The picture became quite lucid before her. She raised her hands in front of her, and created a small flame. She allowed it to grow. After feeling the sense of knowing that comes to you once a job is complete, she aimed at Lady Amber, and released the burning wad. Just as quickly, Lady Amber snuffed it out. To Firena she stated, That was quite good Firena. A little slow, but you showed much power. You'll be a good student to teach. Now that I know where your power stands, I know that you will be a quick one to teach. Lady Amber then created a wall of fire. It burned across the barren room, in a hot blaze. Now, Firena, I want you to try something. The flames of the wall licked up as she silently thought this to her pupil. I want you to absorb the flames. Those with a fire aura can absorb the power of their opponent. Just as you saw me absorb your power, I want you to absorb the power within this wall. Firena stared at her lady, But I've never tried it. How do I do it? Lady Amber gave Firena a serene smile, Just concentrate on the fire, and feel the power come into you. You became the fire as you prepared to throw it at me, and now you must allow the fire to become you. Firena reluctantly walked up to the flames. She raised a hand to it. The blaze tickled her hand, and she closed her eyes at the touch. Concentrate, concentrate. Slowly, she let her eyes see red. She let a feeling of strength come into her, and she slowly let the power come into her as well. The flames began to kindle, and as Firena relaxed, the power was absorbed at even faster pace. Good, good Firena. Keep control. Soon, the entire wall was gone. Firena opened her eyes and felt much stronger. You're well on your way Firena. When the day comes where you are at your strongest, we shall fight. Lady Amber smiled beautifully as she saw her pupil give her a surprised expression. To Firena she thought, Now Firena, go and teach Lady Luna what I just showed you alright. Firena gave a nod, and quickly left. She began to fear Lady Amber slightly, Her power is incredible, but she gave me some of hers. I think she wants to make a warrior out of me. With that final thought, she closed the door behind her, and left to see her gryffin Luna waiting within her room. I'll talk to Matt later too. She pictured kissing Matt once more, and blushed at her thought.

Matt entered the new room. The walls were bare, and there appeared to be no one there. Suddenly, a young man popped into view. He appeared to be in his late twenties. His hair was just as black as Matt's and much longer. On his head he wore a band with a sapphire placed in the center. Oddly he wore a ruby stone on his ring finger. It clashed awkwardly with the dark blue robes he wore. A white sash was wrapped around it. I wonder why he chose to wear a ruby stone. Aloud he said, "Lord Ronan?" Matt received a novel thought. Hello Matt, we can speak mentally from here on out. Now, from what Korson tells me, you've mastered a few techniques with water. He said that you were still slightly shaky with ice. Matt silently thought to himself, Of course, Korson must have watched me train. Wait till I talk to him. He smirked harshly as he thought this, until Lord Ronan spoke once more. I want you to show me what you got Matt. Strike down with as much vigor as possible. Matt gave his new teacher a new reply, Sure, and he pelted his teacher with water. Unfortunately, it was wiped out just as fast. Matt grew impatient, Great, he's a tough one. He then used his hands to create a whip of water, Now lets try this. He froze the water whip, and allowed it to freeze. He then thrashed it at Lord Ronan. No good, is what he thought as Lord Ronan created a shield. I'm not done yet though. He then used the water in the air, and created a large wave. He froze it as it came upon impact on Lord Ronan. The shield broke underneath the pressure, but Lord Ronan disappeared. What where did he... His thought was interrupted. Lord Ronan appeared behind Matt, with a sword at his neck. That was very good Matt, but you need to be skilled at more than just fighting. I'll teach you a little bit more about using a weapon as well. He then released his grip, and looked at his pupil. Now, that was a wonderful introduction. We shall continue tomorrow. Matt stared at his new teacher, and scowled. As he began to walk out the door, he overheard his teacher think, He's just like me. Matt smiled a little at that, and began to walk to his room. I need to talk to Titan. It wouldn't be so bad to see Firena either. He smirked as he thought of how he kissed her. Wouldn't mind doing a little bit more either.
