I pushed my long, blonde-ish hair out of my face so I could get a better look at where I was going to be staying. I was sitting in a car with my grandmother and great aunt beside me. We all sat in silence looking at the old castle which would be my new school.
"Do I have to go?" I pleaded.
"Now,V, we know you don't want to, but this is an opportunity of a lifetime," my grandmother said. I placed my head on her shoulder.
"And look on the brightside," my great aunt chimed in, "you won't have to deal with drama! You're the only girl to attend Fairview Academy since it was opened! Think of all those hott boys!"
"She's right, Veronica," my grandmother said chuckling.
"Hopefully these boys are as hott as you say!" I laughed.
We pulled up to the enormous mansion. It looked as if the entire school was standing outside. Most were in black, with hair falling into their faces, and piercings. I saw lot's of piercings.
"I thought you had to wear uniforms here?" I asked, looking at the boys in 'regular' clothing.
"School hasn't started yet, dear." my grandmother said. "It starts in about a week, but you come here early to get to know your way around."
The car stopped and the driver opened my door. I climbed out of the car and took a few steps forward, my grandmother and great aunt following.
"Ah, Veronica Gallower, we've been expecting you," said a deep voice. I looked around to see who this voice could belong too. A tall, slender, old man stepped forward. "I am Headmaster Roon." He extended a bony hand. I looked at him for a moment before grasping his hand. He smiled at me before turning to my grandmother and great aunt. "Ah, Miss Gallower and Miss Uugah, come with me, I will tell you all about Fairview Academy." They looked at me and flashed there big you-be-a-good-girl-while-we're-away-or-else smiles. I smiled back and watched them as they walked up the stairs into the stone building.
When the Headmaster, my grandmother and my great Aunt dissapeared the boys scattered in every which direction.
I turned around to where the driver was unloading my bags. I grabbed them all up and began to walk into the school. Now, to find room 7-84. I thought drearily. I was hobbling up the stairs when a voice from behind me called out.
"Wait!" it said, "let me help you."
I stopped and turned around. A tall boy with blonde hair was striding towards me. He picked up two of my suitcases and carried them into the hall of the great school where the stairs and elevators were.
"Which floor?" he asked as we stepped into the elevator.
"Erm..seven." I said. He pushed the button and the doors closed soundlessly.
"I'm Braydon," he said cheerily.
"Veronica," I said smiling back. He was very cute, and had a lip ring. Lip rings were hott.
"So what room are you in?"
"Eighty-four."
"Really? That's my room!"
"Really? Well that's good, I couldn't stand sharing a room with a stranger!"
His face suddenly grew serious. "I am a stranger," he stated.
"Oh! Well, I guess you are, but I at least know your name and.."
He cut me off. "I was just foolin' with ya, Veronica."
"Please, call me V."
He smiled at that. "V," he repeated dreamily.
The bell chimed marking we were on the seventh floor. The doors opened as Braydon and I picked up our load again. He stepped out first and led me down the hallway. Boy's doors began to open and heads began to stare at me. What, do I have four heads?! I thought angrily.
About seven doors down Braydon stopped and reached in his pocket to produce a key.
"Here we are," he said inserting the key into the keyhole, "home sweet home." He opened the door to a bright room where a TV was set against one wall with various chairs and sofa's around it. Two boys were sitting on one of the couches punching each other. They looked in surprise before hopping up and running over to us.
"Hiya!" one said. He wore glasses and had an eyebrow piercing and had brown hair. He looked like Braydon.
The other bowed down before taking my hand and kissing it.
"Gavin, get up!" Braydon snapped. The boy stood up looking embarressed. He was shorter and slightly heavier than the other two. "These are my brothers, Seth and Gavin."
I smiled at them as they began to punch each other again. "I'm very pleased to meet you, I'm Veronica," I said happily.
"We know," they chimed.
"Well, let's take this stuff to your room," Braydon said, picking up the luggage he had carried in. Seth took my backpack and Gavin took the other bag I had and followed Braydon into what must have been my room. I followed them, curious as to see what my room was like. The walls were deep blue with hardwood floors. There were two beds on either side of the room, identical to each other. Both were dark with flowing designs on them, and beside them was a desk, which fit perfectly in between. A window sat behind it.My mouth dropped open as I looked around some more. There were three other doors, two next to each other to my right and another to my left.
"That's your bed," Braydon said pointing to the one on the right. "And that's your closet," he said pointing to the one closest to it. "And that is the bathroom," he said, pointing to the last door on the left.
"Alright," I stammered, picking up my suitcases the boys had left by my bed before retreating back to the living room. I brought them to my closet door and opened it, revealing a walk in closet. I squealed and began to unload my stuff, hanging my clothes on the hangers, putting my shoes in the shoe rack and my undergarments in the drawers.
I carried my empty suitcases back out into my room to put under my bed. There, I thought, everything is done except what needs to go into the bathroom. I picked up my backpack containing my tolietries and carried it into the glimmering bathroom. The shower led off onto a balcony where a hottub was seated. "This is too cool!" I exclaimed as I began to put everything away.
"Now," I said, standing in the doorway of my room and the living room. "Which one of you lucky boys do I get the pleasure of sharing a room with?"
The boy's chuckled as Braydon stood up and walked over to me. "Why, that would be me, m'lady," he said as he sweeped me off my feet and brought me back to the couch, placing me on his lap.
"Oh," I giggled sliding off his lap into the seat next to him. He sighed in a hey-what-are-you-gunna-do-about-it way and resided to putting his arm around me.
This is going to be a good year.
