Chapter 3 : {Hiding From The World} Part 2 {And.Hoping.No.One.Will.Find.Me}
Here is part two of my new story. Please rate. Peace and Love, Laura.
I walked through the halls of my new school trying desperately to find the office but to no avail. When I finally found the office I was startled to hear a bell ring throughout the school signaling the start of first period. Well this is just perfect, this is just what I wanted to avoid. I grabbed the handle and tried to push open the door and when that didn’t work I looked up to find a big sign that said pull. I knew that…I thought to myself and pulled the door open. The office was very simple, a few elderly women were working on computers at a large counter, a few chairs lined the back wall, and then a hallway that most likely led to the principal’s office and such were next to them.
I walked up to an elderly lady at one of the computers but she didn’t look up. “Excuse me miss,” I asked her. Or maybe not, she didn’t even look up. I walked up to the other elderly lady and asked her if I could get my schedule. This time, she actually looked up.
“Sure thing, what’s your name?” she asked me.
“Miki Harwood,” I answered with fake confidence secretly hoping the papers I got worked. The woman typed my name in quickly, scrolled with her mouse and clicked what I believe was the print button. The woman got up, walked over to the hallway and went through the first doorway to the left. Oh no, I thought to myself, did they find out? As I was having my little mental breakdown on the inside the woman came back with a piece of laminated paper which she held in front of me. It wasn’t till she called my name did I realize it was there and took it from her. I inwardly sighed; I was safe…for now.
I thanked the old lady and left. It felt as if someone was watching me but I shook it off. What to do, I asked myself, I guess I’ll go to class or someone might suspect something and dig a little deeper. I looked at my schedule and saw that first period I had study hall in room 212. Now where is 212, I asked myself yet another question and looked up, ironically there it was, 212. I took a deep breath and reached for the handle. As I was turning the handle it burst open and hit me in the head sending my bag, board, and me flying. Ow, I thought and well, blacked out.
Ok, why does my head hurt so much, I thought to myself groggily. I slowly opened my eyes to find two people standing over me, and if you were me you would of done the same thing, I screamed…Well if you had been through this before but in worse conditions then you would have screamed. The two figures stepped back and I blinked rapidly to get rid of those annoying little dots my vision was clouded with. When I looked around I was in the…well I’m not exactly sure. Oh god… and the people that were hovering over me were two guys…just…great. I laid my head back down and tried to picture myself in a happy place but one of the guys interrupted my attempt, “Um, I just wanted to tell you that, well, your skateboard kind of hit the wall, and well, broke in half.”
Can this get any worse, I thought, Well of course it can, no matter where I am or who I am; luck just isn’t on my side.
