Aqua was born on a dark night, on a raft in the middle of the ocean. She and her parents were more then 2,000 miles out from shore when they were ship wrecked. Aqua watched as her parents were washed away with the current. She began to sink to the bottom of the ocean. She landed in the middle of a kelp field, and grew up to become a creature that no one can explain with any name but Aqua.
As Aqua grew up in the kelp field, she grew a tail like a fish, with intensifying blue scales. Her hair grew stunning streaks of blue, her deep brown eyes could see a snow white bunny in the thickest fog, her voice could be heard around the world (like that of a whales). She learned the songs of all the animals that she ever came upon; and how to hold her breath for extended periods of time. This made her very adapted to the water, though she never lost her human features.
Though her life she would only venture to the surface to get a breath of air and to see what kinds of new existing things she could find. One day she come to the surface because she saw new animal, that to Aqua seemed familiar; but convincing herself that she had only dreamed of seeing such a creature, she decided that it was just a new friend going to explore the ocean views. When she reached the surface she swam around this new creature trying to get its attention by swimming in front, behind, and all around. Aqua had no idea what she was doing wrong. She was trying to be nice, but this creature would not stop and chat with her. Aqua decided to talk to this creature.
“Hello there.” said Aqua. The creature didn’t answer.
“Hey you there.” but still the creature swam past.
“HEY I’M TALKING TO YOU” creature didn’t speak.
By this time Aqua was very annoyed; did this creature think it was better than her because it was from a different part of the ocean? Or was this creature just in a hurry and couldn’t talk?
“If you don’t want to talk, just say so, don’t be mean about it.” said Aqua.
The creature didn’t speak.
Aqua decided that she would stop this creature and give it a piece of her mind. She swam in front of it but it didn’t work, creature just kept moving. If only she know what was really going on above the surface.
Christopher Columbus was sailing across the sea to prove that the earth was round. While he was sailing, he looked out over the sea and saw something that he couldn’t believe. It was a creature that was half human and half fish, he couldn’t believe his eyes. This was beyond belief.
“This can not be, I must be dreaming. I – I - no one will believe this. This is just not possible! It must be my imagination. It’s – it’s – just not – not possible”. He thought
Christopher called his first hand man Andrew to him, and told him to look down in to the water and tell him what he saw. Thinking this was a test to see whether or not he was ready to be his right hand man, Andrew did as Chris asked. He looked out and saw Aqua. And the same as Chris, he too thought that he had to have been going mad. Thinking that if he told Chris what he really saw he would be thrown over board or worse looked down upon by every one. So he told Chris;
“I only see that which is there, the ocean and all its wonders” said Andrew.
“And what are all its wonders?” asked Chris, for he too did not want anyone to think that he was going mad.
"The sun and all its beauty when it hits the ocean” replied Andrew.
“What else?” asked Chris trying to see if he really did see what he him self saw.
“I see the plants and – and – animals” stuttered Andrew.
Well this made Chris realize that he was not going mad after all (which made him very happy), so he just had to ask:
“What kind of animals do you see out in these unknown waters?” asked Chris, hoping that he would get a straight answer this time.
“Sir if I may ask why do you want to know what I see; can’t you yourself see it too?”
“Why are you so scared to tell me what you see, if I tell you what me my self sees you would think that I am going mad.” Said Chris
“Sir what you are seeing can not be nearly as strange as what I am seeing. For I my self must be the one that is going mad.” replied Andrew
This made Chris think that Andrew had to have seen the same impossible creature that he had.
“Tell me what you see, so that I may know that you trust me, in the way I trust you.”
“Sir I’m sorry but if I tell you what it is that I see, you will surely think that I am not able to be your right hand man.”
“Do you trust me?” asked Chris.
“You know I do, but I can not tell you what I see for I am not quite sure what it is that I see.”
“Is it a creature that is more then anything different than you could ever imagine? What is it that you see? Please I must know.” said Chris
“But sir.”
“Please.”
“I see a fish with the head of a girl.” Said Andrew, unsure of what Chris would say to him.
Chris looked at Andrew and knew that he was not going mad (nor was Andrew).
“I may tell you now that you are not going mad, and what you see is real.” Chris told Andrew.
“How can you be sure?” asked Andrew; very confused by this time. For how could Chris know that he was not going mad, unless...
“Sir do you see the same creature to which I see?” asked Andrew.
“I see a creature that I have never seen before. Until you told me that you too saw it I thought that I had to be dreaming” Said Chris.
“So you – you see it too?” asked Andrew.
“I see it too!” proclaimed Chris.
Aqua had almost given up on trying to make the creature talk to her, but then she looked up at the creature.
“Why are you so far out of the water?” she asked with a very confused look.
“Do you not wish to join my friends and me in the w – w – water?” Aqua noticed that the creature was not alone. Aqua swam up closer to get a better look, at what this creature was traveling with. She called up at the creatures passengers.
“Hey you up there. Tell me what this creature is that you travel upon” she said. Chris and Andrew were shocked.
“First we both see a creature that made us think we we’re going mad, now the creature is talking to us!” said Andrew “or is it just me?”
“No it’s not just you, for I hear it too,” exclaimed Chris.
“What do you think she wants?” asked Andrew.
“I don’t know, I think she thinks that our boat is an animal.”
“Should we tell her that it’s not?” asked Andrew
Aqua was getting very annoyed by this time. First the big creature would not talk to her and now the passengers weren’t ether.
“Excuse me, I asked you a question!” yelled Aqua. Chris and Andrew did not want to appear rude to this new creature so they called back to Aqua.
“We are not with any other creatures except those who are on this boat with us.” Andrew told her
“A boat?” asked Aqua “what is a boat?’
“Well, it’s what we are sailing on” said Chris. This struck Aqua hard; she remembered the day her mom and dad were swept away by the current, and how she sank to the bottom of the ocean. It was there that she learned how to swim and turned in to what she was now.
“You – this – this thing is a boat?” asked Aqua.
“Yes, have you heard of it before?” said Chris.
Aqua had heard stories about land and boats and how they never get sick because they have secret ways of staying healthy. Aqua knew that none of the animals in the ocean could ask for the help they needed. Many of Aqua’s friends and family were sick. They were all sick due to the current that had been polluting the ocean for about two years. Aqua knew that she alone could get help from this plague; that these humans caused.
“Do you have mecicidem, that could help and my friends and family?” asked Aqua.
"Mecicidem? what is mecicidem?” asked Andrew.\
"Oh you know mecicdem; the stuff that makes all you on land healthy."
"Oh, you mean medicine"
"That's what I said mecicdem." Said Aqua.
"No - you - never mind."
"Well do you, or don't you?" said Aqua.
“Yes, but I can’t get it until we dock.” Said Andrew.
“May I meet you there and get them there?” she said. "My friends and family are very sick and need something to help them."
“You may, but that will be hard for we must give it to you on land, we can not get to you in the water.”
"Well then may I meet you on land?" asked Aqua. Chris and Andrew looked at each other; wandering how in the world she could come on to land to get what she needed.
"How - can you come on to land?" asked Chris. "You are a water creature; are you not?"
"I am a water creature, now." she said "But I was not always; I was a land creature just like you."
"But you are a water creature now right."
"Yes, I am."
"Then how could you came on to land" asked Andrew trying to comprehend this strange fact that this girl thing had just said.
"Because I was not born this way, I can change from land to water whenever I want to," she told Andrew.
"You may come to get the medicine that you need." he said. "but first I must know your name."
"Oh, I'm sorry. My name is Aqua, and yours?"
"I'm Andrew, and this is Chris."
That night Aqua came to shore with Andrew and Chris. Out of the water Aqua's tail became legs with swirls and twirls of blue, and her blue streaked hair became streaked with red, gray, and green. Chris and Andrew helped her find the right medicine that she needed and get back to the ocean with out being seen. With the help of Christ and Andrew, Aqua was able to save her friends and family and help many other creatures she had met.
