"Toraaaa I'm hungry!" Nao pointed at his stomach. Tora rolled his eyes at Shou, who had been with him for the longest time of his band-mates. Shou shrugged.
"Oh. That looks good." Nao whispered to Tora, pointing at an unwrapped lollipop that was sitting innocently on someone's chair, with a dozen of little cupcakes and cards and flowers and such.
"And you're thinking about food when I'm sitting here, dying from the pain that your stupid drumsticks gave me?" Tora pointed at his broken feet, which Nao had literally broken with a pair of drumsticks. The thing was that Nao left his drumsticks carelessly on the stage after the live, and Tora, rushing off the stage, tripped over them in the dark and fell into the pond of rabid fan-girls. Just tripping was bad enough. And then he snapped a bone in his toe. And then he was scared out of his wits by the number of hands...and, sad to say, mouths...that reached for every inch of him. And by every inch, yes, I mean even that part. See why Tora's just a little upset now?
The fact that Nao and Shou had to drag Tora to a foreign hospital in a foreign country that spoke a foreign language with a foreign culture didn't exactly make the situation any better. The only four words Nao, the leader, knew how to say was: "Danke (thank you), Deutsch (German), Deutschland (Germany), and Hallo (Hello)"--all of which only danke and hallo would be vaguely useful in the situation. And, to make it worse, he had gotten the two confused already.
"I'm going to go take it." Nao grinned. For a moment Tora thought the drummer was only kidding.
He realized that Nao was for real when Nao actually, physically, really, really put the sucker in his mouth.
"Nao!" Tora sprang up. Shou snapped awake and looked around in confusion, "The end of the world?"
"Go back to sleep, dumbass." Tora growled and sat back down, his feet killing him every second. Finally a nurse came over. And of course, spoke to them in English, which Tora vaguely understood.
"May I help you?"
"Foot." Tora pointed to his foot and took out a dictionary, searching frantically for words, "Broken."
"Please fill this out." The nurse came back a moment later with a piece of paper attached to a board.
"I'm dying in pain, and they give me this?" Tora shouted in Japanese. No one understood him, thankfully. Nao laughed, still on his sucker.
"You know if someone catches you with that..." Tora started.
"I'll take full responsibility." Nao smiled sweetly. Tora heaved a sigh of relief, which got caught in his throat as he noticed a girl staring at the blank spot that the lollipop used to reserve on her chair. At the same moment Nao took out the sucker to examine it. Tora quickly tried to shove it back in Nao's mouth, but Nao looked at him in confusion.
"Get that out of here!" Tora hissed.
"Eh?"
It was too late. The girl wheeled over in her chair over, staring at the lollipop, "Entschuldigung..."
"Konichiwa!" Nao bowed and handed her the half-gone sucker. She stared at it, and Nao stared back at Tora, "How do you say hello in German again? Oh right! Danke!"
"Danke!" He bowed quickly to the girl, completely aware that he said 'thank you', not 'hello' as he grinned at Tora. Fortunately he ran out before Tora could give him a treatment.
"My lollipop..." The girl stared now in shock at her lollipop.
"Sorry." Tora bowed, "I. Sorry!"
"Yeah, of course you are. You know that was what my cousin came all the way over from England to give me, right?" She pouted.
"Really!" Tora bowed again. The girl stared.
The nurse came back, "Finished?"
Tora shook his head. He hadn't even started. The first word look familiar. He flipped in his dictionary. N...a...m...e...
"Amano Shinji." He scribbled in funky letters. The girl let out a giggle. He stared at her for a moment. She knew him?
"That one says birthday." She pointed at the next slot, "Nine. Seventeen. Eighty."
Tora really stared at her. Really, really...it was just...was she like magical or something?
"Here, give that to me." She offered, "I'll go faster than you, so, uh, that bloody thing of yours can get fixed up."
She pointed to his feet. He rubbed the back of his head and laughed. He watched as she scribbled down the column.
"Emergency contact?" She whispered. Tora looked at her in confusion. She took his dictionary and flipped to 'Emergency'.
"Ah! Here..." He handed her the foreign coordinator's phone number. She nodded and wrote it down. A moment later she wheeled herself over to the nurse and handed the woman the clipboard. Tora bowed in gratefulness, and she smiled.
"How? Broken?" She pointed at his feet. Tora said, "Nao. Drumsticks. Live. Fans. Fell."
She laughed and clapped, "I never expected that. Well done!"
He winced in discomfort, but suddenly his eyes snapped open, "Allergies? Paper--you, write?"
"Oh. I just said you were allergic to non-Japanese medication and gingko nuts, which you hate, right?" She grinned.
He laughed, "You--is--Good!"
"I know." She grinned back. A pair of older people, her parents probably, came, looked at Tora strangely, and wheeled her away.
"Third floor! Room eight!" She yelled in English. He waved back.
"Thank you!" He bowed again and smiled as she was wheeled into the elevator.
-----
"Third floor, room nine." The nurse pointed at a map and said in slow English about how to get there. Shou was too tired and left Tora to deal alone in the hospital. Tora had three toes completely smashed, and surgery, unfortunately, was quite inevitable. He sighed and nodded.
"Me with you?" She mimed walking him to the elevator. He shook his head and smiled. It wasn't as if he was in a foreign country or any--ah SHIT.
"Yes." He nodded quickly, before she walked away too far. She smiled and guided him to the elevator, with him hobbling on his cast and all. When the doors opened, she pointed to a room at the end of the long hallway, "Nine, yours."
"Thank you." He bowed and hobbled over. Well, not before colliding with a person in a wheelchair. He looked up, about to apologize, only to meet face to face with the savior from before.
"Hi!" She smiled and helped him up with a hand. He nodded in appreciation, "Me, nine. You, eight?"
"Yea!" She grinned, "We visit!"
"Yes!" He laughed.
"Go rest." She tapped him on his foot, "Hurts?"
"No." He shrugged. Of course it hurts!
"Good." She smiled again and wheeled away. He actually sort of wanted to talk to her as he watched her wheel away in disappointment.
---------
"Do you need anything else? A teddy bear?" Hiroto offered. Tora snapped at him, and Hiroto retreated behind Nao.
"Well, get better. We'll postpone the tour until you can actually stand on your own." Nao grinned and ran off before Tora could bring up the issue with the lollipop.
"We're going to go too. Get well soon!" Shou and Saga waved as Hiroto dragged them out. Tora leaned back in his chair. He thought about the girl from earlier.
---Ten minutes later---
Tora picked up his pen and wrote.
Thank you so much!
Haha! It was the least I could do to help you out.
If you weren't there, I'd be stuck here forever...;_;
:D Well, I'm going to be here for a while anyway, until they get me my foot surgery.
You're having one too?
Yeah. Stupid doctors.
Me too!
Haha! What a coincidence.
It IS a coincidence! Must have been meant by...*look up!*
=D I agree!
The girl looked up from the piece of paper, smiling lightly. Tora blushed, thankful that it was dark.
---Later that night---
Tora stared with love at the note he had passed around with the girl. The writing-exchange was a great idea, he thought, since his English on paper at least avoided the bad pronunciation. He wanted to do it everyday. It was actually quite fun, how the two of them had almost an invisible tie to each other when they were both busy scribbling away on the scratch piece of trash. He suddenly picked up his dictionary to look up a very familiar word. He didn't know why he wanted to, but...
Aishiteru--I love you
He grinned and snapped the dictionary shut, as if afraid to get caught or something.
He fell asleep.
---Three days later---
"Oww..." The girl pouted, downing another pill from the little bottle. She picked up a pen and wrote: ;_; it hurts!
"Gomen!" He made a face for her. His feet was aching too, but it was okay. At least his toes were back to normal. He looked at her feet, which was suspended from some strings from the top of her bed. He decided to write something down, just to feel it in his hand...
I love you, Moon-chan.
Quickly he scribbled it out before she could read it. She looked at him questioningly, and he just smiled back.
How much longer will you stay?
Probably a few more days, two maybe.
I'll miss you!
How much longer are you staying?
Until tomorrow.
NO! ]= I'll be all alone!
Don't worry!
He smiled at her mischievously, and she blinked in confusion. Tora laughed and patted her head, leaving a light kiss on her cheek before he hobbled out the door.
---Next Day---
"Where are you going?" Nao watched as Tora disappeared into the room next door. Tora laughed, "Give me a pen."
"Here." Saga offered, and Tora nodded thanks as he went inside the girl's hospital room. She was still sleeping. Well no duh, it wasn't even six in the morning yet.
He took out the same notepad that they had been passing notes on, and wrote three simple words: "I love you."
Except, this time, he didn't scribble it out. He didn't take the notepad back to his room either. He just left it there, on her chair, as he grinned happily at his work.
"What does that say?" Hiroto pointed at the words.
"Nothing." Tora looked away from her face, "Come on, get out before we wake her."
"Who is she?"
"The person whose lollipop got molested by Nao." Tora answered simply as the five headed out the hospital. He didn't stop grinning until he got the phone call a month later.
"Moshi moshi?"
"Don't pretend, Tora! You know it's me." Tora smiled brightly at her voice.
Moony looked down at the a box containing a sucker, his cell phone number and address in Japan, a round trip ticket to Tokyo, and a pen. She put the box, which she got in the mail just two days ago, on the table. And then she picked up the notepad that she found at the hospital when she woke up the morning Tora had gone.
"I love you." It said, in Tora's authentic strange Japanese-English hand writing.
She grinned, "Hey, Tora-kun."
"Yeah?"
"I love you too."
