Chapter 7

We sat there for what felt like hours. I started to get drowsy. He tightened his grip around me. I felt so secure in his arms, I loved that feeling. And after a few minutes I was asleep.

"Matilda. Wake up," Derik's voice seemed softer.

"What happened?" I said, my eyes fluttering open.

"You fell asleep. You’re oddly peaceful in your sleep." He laughing at me.

"Really? I always thought I went on murdering rampages." I said joining in laughing.

"Oh, ha ha. It's time for me to take you home. Ready?" He had some emotion in his eyes I couldn't read.

"Yeah, let's go." This time I grabbed his wrist and pulled him out into the hall. We went back to the headmaster's office.

Headmaster Hekton had gotten someone to orb us back to my house. Derik left me once I was inside. My parents told me that I was to leave tomorrow. I went upstairs and started to pack. After about two hours of packing someone nocked on my door.

"Yes?" I called.

"Matilda?" Lily called back.

"Yeah. What?"

"Can I come in?" She was never like this. She was showing sadness -- something she never does.

"Yeah. Want to help me pack?" I wish I could lighten the mood, but that was going to be very hard.

"I guess." She walked in and sat on the floor next to me.

"What's wrong? You seem, I don't know, upset." It sounded so weird when I said it.

"They told me." She wasn't looking at me. "How can they just send you away?!" she screamed at me.

"Lilith Pandora Thomas. It's not about them, it's about me. I want to go. I am going, and you can't stop me. Why are you so pissed about this? Because you can't keep an eye on me at all times? I face worse dangers than myself." Something in her eyes changed.

"Don't you dare say my full name in that tone!” She had shed a couple of tears when she said that. Then she ran out of my room. I felt kind of guilty.

"I have bigger problems then her right now," I mumbled to my self.
