"Ayame! There is a man on the phone for Nova-san!" Mine yelled, you were in the back roomchanging back into youryellow sun dressand was getting ready to leave. You could hear the two move around, switching places at the desk as he began to talk to whoever was on the phone for you. You could only wonder. No one would call you at work, they knew that they could wait because you were trying your best to save your money up to get away from the main house. You stepped out, bag slung on your shoulder, and stared at Ayame as his golden eyes were all chibi. You blinked, cocking your head.
He pushed the phone into his chest before he said, "It is a man wanting to take you up on a real job!"
"WHAT!?!?" You screamed, your bag sliding off your shoulder and you jumped towards him, taking the phone.
"Hello!" You called into the phone, a grin on your face.
"Hello, Ms. Sohma. I am Jun Saito. I own a major clothing line, but have no models that are willing to do them because of the bold colors. I've seen some of your work and you seem to be able to wear any color at all, no fear in your eyes and you hold yourself well. I want to hire you."
"I am honored! I can't believe this!" You were so shocked that this was happening so soon.
"Can you come soon to sign a contract?"
"Yes, but I have some request before hand. I want someone there while I am doing that and the clothing part. I want to at least feel safe and know that nothing will happen to me."
"Of course! Whatever you need, just as long as you model and do not mind the people that will be pulling at you as they do your hair and make-up."
"That brings up something. I want only girls around me to do those things. My boyfriend will have a problem if I have a guy messing with me."
"That is understandable. Let me just give you all that you'll need to find me."
"Okay!" You could not believe how well your luck was at this moment. He was letting you call the shots, he was letting you have your way. He was rather really impressed with the way you handled yourself or had no one else left to call. You wrote down the address, his number and even his assistant's number just in case you could not get a hold of him.
"See! I told them the first day you were born that you were a star!" Ayame declared, hugging you tightly and danced around with you. You cleared your throat, pulling away.
"As much as I love hanging around here, I have to go tell Kyo the good news! Also, I want you to be there with me if you can Aya-san!" You called the last part as you ran out the door, wanting to tell Kyo as soon as you could. You were in good spirits, you felt as this was your chance to get away.

"KYO! I GOT A JOB! I GOT A JOB! I GOT A JOB! I GOT A JOB!" You screamed as soon as your foot touched inside the house. You heard a pan drop in the kitchen, something falling over in Shigure's office and some noise in the rooms above. You removed your shoes, skipping your way around the corner and crashed into Yuki. You fell back, hitting your head on the wall and you stared at him.
"Are you okay?" He asked, holding his hand out to you. He helped you up and you rubbed the back of your head.
"Yes, nothing can hurt me! I am higher then the clouds! I got a modeling job with a real person! I am going to model a new clothing line!" You were still screaming, causing the rat to wince at your voice.
"When you will be doing this?" He asked, smiling at you for you able to start doing what you had been wanting to do since you started at Ayame's shop. Even if he thought low for his brother for getting you to dress in his so called clothes, he was at least happy you were doing what you wanted to do.
"I will be leaving tomorrow with Ayame to get on a plane to head south for awhile. I will be down there for at least two weeks. It is going to be wonderful!" You were starting to get out of your depressing moods you had been in and shift back to yourself.
"You'll be leaving?" Tohru asked, walking out of the kitchen.
"Yes." You answered, turning to look at her.
"It's almost the end of the year! You'll miss g-It'll be fine! I plan on just doing home school again if this keeps up." You cut her off, knowing where she was going. It was time for all of you to move to the next level where you could go from D-2 to D-3, maybe. You heard Kyo coming down the stairs and before anyone else could say or ask another thing, you jumped him. You had him pressed onto the railing and were kissing me repeatedly.
"I get to leave to mooooodel! I get to leave to moooooodel!" He was confused at this point. You had not acted like this in awhile and he was not ready for your sudden change.
"I heard." He said, covering your mouth to keep you from screaming anymore. "I'm happy for you, now get off me. Your hurting my back." You blushed, getting onto your feet and let him get up. Kyo and Yuki had a look between their eyes. You had no idea what had happened. When you left school, they had been on good terms and you had no idea what changed their mood. Okay, so maybe not good terms, but the terms where at least they were not trying to kill each other with glares.
"I should make a famously dinner for you!" Tohru exclaimed, going back into the kitchen. You were going to tell her that was fine, but she left too fast for her to say a word.
"Congratulations, Nova. I hope you do well." Yuki said, walking past the two of you and went back into his room. You looked back at Kyo, pressing your lips onto his.
"I can't believe this is happening." You sighed, so proud of yourself.
"Hey, follow me." Kyo said, taking hold of your hand as he pulled you to his room. He lead you up the side of the house, both of you sitting on the roof as you watched the sun slowly lay itself to bed as the moon would peak itself out.
"Is something wrong?" You asked, looking at him as his face was not the same. It was strained, as if he had something to tell you, but did not want to tell you.
"No, no. I just wish you didn't have to go. What if you come back and Aktio is pissed? I don't want the same thing to happen again." He said, not looking at you as he stared up at the sky.
"Kyo, it's fine. Once I do this, I can move out. I can get away from him, from the house and never go back. I can live how I want to, breathe for once in my life without him weighting me down."
"I don't think you are getting what I am saying."
"What are you saying?"
"What if you come back and he is where you'll be. What if he finds you and hurts you? He know when he has the drive, he does anything he wants. We both know that if he knew that we kept our relationship going that he would kill you. He does not want me nor you happy. I think the only reason he even let you with Haru was it kept him from Rin, he could keep an eye on you two and it was in his hands. Now, you leaving the house and going who knows where scares him. He fears that he'll lose you. Hell, he is a baby compared to any of us. He puts his fears and misery on us. He doesn't want to see any of us happy. He thinks that this bond that he has with all of you means he does not have to share you, that you are all his." He was looking at you know, his eyes were sad and you could tell that he was sharing his feelings. He was opening up to you and letting you know what he had been thinking about when he was all alone in his room.
"Kyo, I promise, I will never let myself be pushed around by him. The bond I share with my nii-san, it is nothing. I may be his baby sister, his star and his bird, but I am now his. I am your's. Just as you are mine." You leaned back, your hands holding you up as you stared up at the sky. You were looking at the first star up in the sky, smiling up at it. "I want to be happy. With you, I am happy. I feel normal. I feel like it does not matter if I am all these things. I feel like you think I am like Tohru."
"Like Tohru?" He questioned, giving you a weird look.
"That I am not cursed." Your voice was telling him that it was obvious. "That I am not a Sohma."
"You make me feel that way, too." He said.
"Like a girl?" You started to laugh as he glared at you.
He turned away from you, "Nice way to wreck a moment." You were stilling laughing as you made him look at you and kissed him.
"Yes, it was, but I could not help it." Your laughs went to giggles, fell into chuckles until you were no longer even making a noise. Both of you were holding hands as you laying back and watched as the stars showed themselves in the dark blue sky. It was true what you had said to him, the way he made you feel. You hoped that it would never change either.

You were at the photo shot, hearing Ayame trying to give you confidence, but it only made you laugh. You had already gone through Jun's summer and spring line the week before. You were in the second week of the shot, now doing fall and winter wear for him. You were in a black dress that was just hugging you curves for dear life. You were dead tired from all the work and was trying to go as long as you could with each set before a break to get back to home to see Kyo. You missed him more then you thought you would and talking on the phone only made you wish you were there more. You were at least happy with yourself as you had been told by the women who did your make-up and the man taking your pictures that you were the best teenager they had ever seen. You had been able to go look from your own age to a woman up to twenty-three. They were unable to understand how someone who could hardly seen from one eye, scarred up from toe to chest and seem to not enjoy talking to people could just snap into this different person when it came time to give the clothes life.
"Great. Next outfit, Nova, and you'll be on the winter." The man, Mr. Sunny as he wanted to be called, said. You were stripping the dress off as you walked back to the mini-dressing room they had given you. The women back there pulled at your hair, were changing your make-up and removing the heels for new ones. You were now in the winter outfits, almost running out to get back in front of the camera. Ayame was going on once more and you had to pause to just finally crack up.
"Okay, Aya-san, stop! I can't think! You are making it too funny!" You said, laughing to the point that tears were almost coming out of your eyes.
"Ah! Don't ruin your make-up!" He called out, wagging his finger around.
"Seriously! Stop!" You were getting ready to argue when you heard your phone, Jun had given you a cell because he wanted to be able to reach you at anytime, go off. He tossed the cell at you, you catching it and turning around.
"Are you done yet?" Kyo whined on the other side of the phone, clearly he was pissy that you were still gone.
"No, I am right behind you." You squeaked when he yelled at you. "Well, sorry! I'm almost done. I'll call you later."
"Make sure you do it this time."
"I will! I will!"
"Fine. Be careful, bye."
"I will." You held the phone to your ear, listening to the dial tone for a bit. You tossed it back to Mr. Snake before you went back to your job. You could not wait until you were done and back home. It would be so nice to be with Kyo, able to move out and start living your life, not the life Akito wants for you.
"Hold still! You are all like a worm now!" Mr. Sunny said, staring at you.
"Well, you get a boyfriend and see how that makes you feel!" You pouted, not prepared for the flash.
"Cute! And, no, it would creep me out. I have a wife." He stated, taking more pictures as you tired not to giggle.
"Well, then do you get mad at me when I get all happy from Kyo's voice."
"Eh, Princess, you need to chill. He's just a boy, you'll have more in your life."
"He's not just a boy to me. He's one who has changed my life and has done a lot."
"Like what?"
"He's made me realize that emotions and love is stronger then a bond you stare with a sibling. That you do not have to let that tie to a person hold you bad from making your own."
"Oh, really, now? Well, then he is a keeper." He flashed one more picture before he waved you off.

I went walking around, letting the world distract me from not having Nova around. I was bored without her joking, her non-sense and just the fact to be able to hold her close to me. I guess I had fallen hard for her more than I thought I would have. I mean, I had liked her before when we were younger, but Kagure kept me from her. She claimed me as her's and I never really got to see Nova that much from that point on, but I think Akito did not let her out much after that when she did first talk to me and when Yuki first got there. It was as if as soon as we were born, we had been through in a came of chess. We were being played, used and thrown out when no longer needed. No wonder most of us were screwed up in the head.
"Kyo......" I heard my name being called and I looked around, seeing I had mindlessly walked to the Sohma Compound. Not a place I was welcomed to. "Come inside.......he wants to see you...." I then saw Haru, who was now also just as much as my enemy as that damn rat. Even since I started to date Nova officially, we had been on bad terms. Not that we had been on good ones, but we had at least set ourselves as only rivals in who was the best at marital arts, now it was a whole other game. I had the girl he had, but wants back because Rin won't even speak to him, let alone look at him. Even Nova was starting to get that way him with, reject him until it went through his skull that it was his own mistake to let her go and that she had found someone who at least let her have freedom. It was all she asked for.
"Why!?" I was harsh with him, not wanting to even go see who wanted to see me. He did not say a word as he got the gates opened for me and I just wentmy own way. I knew where to go, memories of my childhood of being in here flashed in my head and I went the path I had gone the few times before. He sat outside, laying on the floor that was set outside the house. He had a bird on his finger and did not look at me.
"So, our monster, what are you doing coming near here?" His voice was dark, it was empty and most of all, it was the voice of when he was going to do something to you.
"I happen to walk around." I said, not even looking at him anymore as my hair covered my eyes.
"I hear that you and my sister are still together. I hear that she is starting to get away. You know what I think, it's your fault. You are the outcast and the monster. You are pulling my eyes, my Rooster away. You are causing her to run. She use to listen to me, fear me, but now that she has been around you, she has been running away." He stood up, the bird flying away and he stepped down. He could tell he was coming towards me, he grabbed my arm and slightly tugged at my wrist. "Does she know how ugly you are? How awful you are under this? That you have two sides to you?"
"No! She doesn't and I plan to keep it that way!" I snapped, glaring at him.
"Oh, she doesn't?" He has a smirk on his face, something forming in his head.
"Don't even tell her!" My temper was getting the best of me, I was letting him get to me.
"Do not take that tone with me, you ugly little beast!" He smacked me across the face and I just let myself stand there. Knowing if I did anything, I would be in fault and that would risk Nova getting harmed.
"I'll just leave you to be." I said, getting ready to leave, but he took one more tug on my wrist and had his finger under my bracelet.
"Watch your back, Kyo. Remember our deal. Remember it. I could back out and lock you up already. I could and you could be forced to hide. I could let her know everything. It's your choice. I let your little game go on for now." He walked away and went back inside. I was frozen, unable to move as I thought about how he could let her know. That he could tell her. She could reject me if she knew. She could hate me and run away from me back into Haru's arms and back into his mind games.
