The rain pattered against the window, creating a soft ambiance in the room today. Since it was saturday, there was no school. Giving me absolutly nothing to do. Lying on my matress, surrounded by boxes, I looked at the ceiling, trying to amuse myself. Mom was at work as well, leaving me along. Working in another town has to be hard for her, but it's the only way it keeps us fed and alive. As the pattering of the rain, and the over all silence over took me, my eyelids started to get heavy as I drifted off to sleep.
It was early july, four months ago. Summer vacation had just started. My dad waved to me as I flew by on my bike, smiling as he turned to go back inside as I went into town. The town was pretty small, so nobody really drove, some walked, while some rode there bikes. Turning onto the sidewalk, I latched my bike to a street light as I heard a familiar voice. "Hey Samuel, hurry up!" Yelled rebecca. She was a year older then me, her brownish yellow hair was in a pony tail as she waved at me in a blue blouse. She was a close neighbor of ours. Our familiesour friends so we hang out a lot. I was thinking of asking her out somtime.I smiled and ran up to her as we made our way to the carnival. We ran through as the ours passed, games won, junk food eaten, arms stuffed with prizes. I even won her a large stuffed dog, and I couldn't help but notice her blush. finaly we finished it off with the carasel. Slowly it went around as we enjoyed the view. "Oh samuel, I had so much fun today. Thanks for coming." She said. I smiled and said. "Hey, I always like hanging with you." She giggled back and looked away, enjoying the sunset. "You know, we have been friends for awhile." she said. My heart started to jump, was she asking me out. "And... I.." She faltered. Suddenly, the ride was over. "Oh no, I guess we gotta get out, well I do have to leave." We both got out and turned towards each other. "I'm sorry samuel, I'll talk to you tomorrow." She turned and ran back home. Damn, I was so close too.
I biked back to my house, wondering what she would of said. Reaching my front yard, I dropped my bike on the side of the house and went in. The first thing I noticed was that it was quiet. I wondered if dad left as I rounded the corner, only to see him slumped agains the wall, A women about two years older then me over him. "What the hell?" I whispered as she turned towards me, blood over her mouth. Frightened, I jumped back and fell over as she walked up to me, her red eyes glowing, brown straight hair covering some of her face. "Well, well. What's a little boy like you doing here?" She said tauntingly, her voice as cold as ice. Her very words froze me in place, I couldn't move, couldn't run, couldn't scream. She got on top of me, her legs wrapped around mine, herbody pressed against me, her head at my neck, licking the side. "I bet you taste as good as him." She said, directing towards my father, still as a corpse. Just as she reared to bite, she lifted her head, as if sensing somthing. "Damn, I was so close to." She jumped up and left, leaving me alone. When the police came, the said my father died of loss of blood, his throut cut before she bit him. I never told them what happened, who would believe me.
I awoke drenched in sweat, alone. The rain had not stopped.
