Chapter 15: The rave and surprises.

As I walked down the street my huge smile melted to a small one. I pulled my long sleeve shirt out of my gym bag and pulled it over my head. I then got a call on my cell phone. I looked at the caller id and it read Light in glowingsilver letters.

"Hello?" i said into the phone.

"OH MY GOD!" Light screamed on the other line.

"Ow," I said rubbing my ear. "What the hell Light you nearly blew out my ear drum."

"I'm sorry it's just that I saw what happend and i just had to call you express how happy i am for you!" Light cheered on the other line.

"Thanks Light," I said in a monotone voice. "Do the others know yet? Or are they still in the dark about this?"

"i told them everything!" Light screeched. "I couldn't help myslef I just had to tell them. We totaly have to celebrate! I know! Theres this rave going on it the woods tonight and it's supposed to be the shit! And now that your condition is gone you have no reason not to go. We're dropping Will off at the house and we'll pick you up in an hour. Oh and ware something really sexy! BYE!" Click.

I stood there with the phone in my hand staring at it with anger. This is why i wasn't going to tell her. I walked the sidewalk to Will's house and then stomped up the front steps. As soon as I grabed the key from under the mat I heard Kyle's van pull up. I turned around to see Light smiling at me through the window of the passenger's seat and I glared at her with black irises. She went pale and shrank in her seat.I entered the house and ran up the stairs to my room and slamed the door behind me. I groaned loudly and fall over onto my bed with my hands over my eyes. I hear a knock on my door and tell the person on the other side to come in. Will comes in with a smile on his face but once he sees me on my bed with my hands over my eyes it disapears.

"I take it you don't want to go to the rave tonight," Will said sitting next to me.

"What was your first clue asshole?" I snapped removing my hands and looking up at the sealing.

"I see your personality is still the same," Will mumbled under his breath thinking I wouldn't hear him but I did.

"Your damn right it is," I said sitting up.

"Come on selene it will be fun," Will said with a smile.

"Fun for you maybe," I said.

"Why are so stressed about going anyway?" he asked. "I mean the touch is gone so you have no reaosn to worry anymore."

"That doesn't mean my hate for crowded places has changed," I said.

"Come and get around they're gonna be back soon," I shook my head and layed back down and the bed with my back to Will. "Or do I have to help you?" My eyes went wide and I turned to see the serious expression on his face.

"That wont be nessisary," I said sitting up and walking over to my dresser. I turned to see Will still sitting on the bed and my brow creased. "OUT!" I yelled at him forcfully. He looked at me with a smirk and then left the room. I locked it as soon as he was out in the hall. I pulled out of my dresser my black and white plaid skirt, my black knee highs, my long sleeved black button up dress shirt, white and black plaid tie, and then pulled out my knee high black boots from the closet and then put it all together. I tied my tie loosely under the collar of my shirt and then pulled out my black ribon choker, my crusifix ear rings and matching necklace, and my stunned belt and bracelettes. After the jewelry was on I put on my makeup and then put two tiny pig tails on the sides of my head while the rest of my hair lowed freely. I inspected myself in the mirror one last time and then went down to meet up with Will.

He was sitting on the couch in the living room waiting patiently when i walked in. He seemed to sence I was there and turned his head to look at me. I saw his jaw drop as I stood in the door way.

"What time are they coming to get us?" I asked. Will didn't answer he was still staring at me. "Will?" He snapped out of his little strance once he heard me say his name.

"What?" he asked.

"I said what time are they coming?" I said again placing my arms over my chest.

"Um I think 7:00," Will said unable to think.

I looked at the clock above the T.V and sighed. it was only 6:00. I walked over to sit next to Will on the couch and watched T.V. As I did so i could feel Will stealing glances at me. I turned my head when I felt his eyes on me again and raised an eyebrow at him.

"What? Do I have something on me?" I asked.

"No!" Will said. "Your just......," He blushed alittle and looked back towards the T.V.

Sweet mother of crud. He thinks I look nice. I felt a blush rise to my cheecks but then shook my head. Why are you blushing he told you that you look nice before remember? I thought to myself. But that was different. He didn't blush he did and he didn't keep staring at me like he's doing now. Why is it so different now? I kept pondering over my thoughts for a long moment and then pushed them aside to check the time. It would only be a half hour before Kyle and the others would show up. We both sat there in silence. It wasn't long though until I felt Will's arm stretch around my shoulders. I jumped alittle at the sudden touch but Will didn't seem to notice. Isat there with his arm around my shoulders and a blush on my face that I didn't know the cause of.

When I senced that Selene had entered the room I turned my head expecting to see her in the same kind of out fit that she always wore, but this time I was taken off guard. She looked different then she had the other times. She literally took my breath away. At first all i could do was stare at her in utter adoration. I saw that her lips were moving but I didn't hear a word she said to me, until she said my name. She asked her question again and I gave her my answer. When she sat next to me, it took all I could not to stare at her the whole time but I did steal glances at her which she seemed to notice. When she asked what was wrong I couldn't say that she looked beautiful, it wouldn't come out. Instead the only words that would come out were "no" and "your just...", I felt like an idiot so I turned my head away with a blush on my cheeks.

The minutes ticked by as we just sat there in silence without saying a word to one another. I couldn't resist any longer. I wrapped my arm around her shoulders. i felt her jump alittle at the sudden contact and then remembered that she was not used to human contact that much so i ignored it. She didn't pull away or shift under my arm so i left it there. I wanted to pull her closer to me but i dimissed that idea remembering how she reacted to the other times when she and i were too close to each other.

I looked up at the clock over the T.V and saw that they were gonna be here any minute. I shut off the T.V and removed my arm from Selene's shoulders. She looked at me and then to the clock. She sighed loudly and went to the front door. I followed and walked out after her. There, in front of the house, was Kyle's van parked there waiting. Selene walked over to the van and opened the door and went into the back with Drew and Val. I followed her in.

"Holy shit selene," Kyle said as he started the van. "I'd keep my eye on her tonight, Will. She'll definately be turning more than afew heads tonight."

"Yeah I know," I said as the van started to move and I sat on the bench next to Drew and Aiden who has now become another memeber of our little group. Everyone began to talk about the rave we were going to and other things like about the trip we took. The entire time though I kept stealing glances at Selene, unable to keep my eyes off of her.

We pulled up to this parking lot near the local camping area in the forest that was outside of the town. We all jumped out and followed Kyle as he led the way to the rave. As we walked through the trees Icouldn't help but think the whole thing was very firmiliar. And then we arrived. We all stopped dead in our tracks when we saw the town that we were in this morning, except this time it was ccompletely old and decayed and there were ravers with glows ticks and loud music and lights flashing around like it the most awsomest dance club. We all looked at each other.

"I can't believe that this place is still here," Val said in amazement.

"And all the buildings are completely the same, well excpet that they're more aged and weathered. But other than that I would say that it's almost like we never went back to our time," Drew said in astonishment.

"Ok enough zoning out. Let's party!" Light said pullin Kyle by the amr and out to dance. Val and Drew followed suit and went to dance as well while Aiden walked over to a group of single girls. Will and i stood there akwardly. As we stood there a group of cute emo type guys walked in and saw me standing there. There were soon over asking me if I wanted to dance. I was so overwhelmed by this that I couldn't get an answer out, but then Will came to the rescue.

"Sorry boys but she's mine," he said pulling me to the dancing area. I wanted to dance as much as I wanted to slit my own throat. But I did any way, with Will following suit. I was surprised that, after awhile of dancing and laughing with Will, I was having fun.

It was about an hour dancing before Will and i left the dancing area to rest.We sat on one of the porches of one of the old buildings and sat there.

"I never knew that you could cut loose like this," will pointed out panting.

"There are alot of things you don't know about me," I retourted.

"That is so true," he said back rubbing his head. "What are some things that Idon't know about you?"

I frowned at him. "Now what would make you think that I would tell you?" I asked seriously.

"Well I am your fiance and think i should know some more things about you," Willsaid with a smirk.

"I could say the same of you,"

Will frowned.

"Then it's settled. i'll tell you what you want to know when you tell me what I want to know," I said with a smirk. Before I could add anything I senced a presence. I scaned the crowd of people looking for any auras that belonged to hat of a the one I was sencing. I stood up with my pupils were as tiny as pin holes as I concentrated on the auras of the people dancing.

"Selene what's wrong?" Will asked standing up next to me.

"We've got a hunter in our midsts," I said tryig to pinpoint the aura. "Will I want you to get the others and get inside the peach tree inn now. I'll meet up with you after I've found out who our new friend is." I said.

Will was about to argue with me but then nodded and ran off to find Val, Drew, Light, Aiden, and Kyle. I continued to scan the crowd for the hunter but was coming up empty every time. I know he's here, damn it. I can sence him. But then my eyes came upon an aura that was alittle more brighter and more radiant than that of a mortals and that's when I knew that I had found my hunter. I quickly hid my own aura to make seem as if iwere a noraml human. My eyes never left the hunters he shifted through the crowd of mortals that were oblivious to what this person was and the treat that he was to me and my friends. As I watched the hunter something I noticed something about him. He looked vaguely firmiliar to me and then I knew why. I knew him. I walked through the crowd towards the hunter. I was right infront of him when the realisation of who he was hit me.

"Jayden?"

The hunter looked at me wide eyes and then a smile came to his lips. "Selene is that you?" he asked in disbelief. Jayden came closer to me and then we both huged. I had been good friends with Jayden when I was in the third grade and lived the same town that the little boy that I killed did. Jayden was my next door neighbor and was from a family of really strong hunters. His family had known what Live and I were and they were good friends with us. We even helped get information for them on numerous times, so Jayden knew what i was and I knew what he was. And they didn't hunt us since they knew that we weren't a threat to them or to the mortals that were protecting. We pulled apart after afew minutes and then laughed.

"What are you doing here?" I asked happy to see my old friend.

"Well I.....," He trailed off. I then realized that he must have felt uncomfortable talking about his "job" in public.

"Why don't we go somewhere and talk in private," I said leading him far away from the inn that I told the others to go hide. we walked over to an old general store and sat down on the porch. "So what are you doing here? I mean this pretty far from your home town."

"Well my family just moved here actually," Jayden said.

"ARE YOU SERIOUS!" I screamed.

"Yeah are you mad?" he asked.

"No I'm happy! I mean we were such good friends for awhile and.......I'm just happy! It'll bet like old times," I said with a smile.

Jayden laughed and smiled. "I missed that smile," he said. I blushed. "i have to say though you've changed so much. I almost didn't recognize you. You're so different."

I laughed. "Yeah I've graduated from the quiet kid that no one talks to or notices to the freaky emo kid that everyone avoids and treats like trash," I said with a smile.

Jayden frowned. "That's not what I ment. I ment your......beautiful," he said with a blush. i was taken off guard at his response. I blushed.

"You've yet to tell me what you're doing at this rave," I said trying to change the subject.

"I heard that this place was an old werewolf hunting ground so I desided to see if there were still any wolfs here. But to my shock, when I got here I found this party. I was going to leave right away when I senced your aura," Jayden said with a smile. "At first I thought that I was imagining it but then it got stronger so I continued to check out the place. "

"Well you scared me. I senced your aura and thought that Iwas in big trouble," isaid laughing a bit.

"So what are you doing here?" he asked

I paused. I had to be careful now. Jayden might have been my friend but he was still a hunter and if he knew what the others were then they would be in danger.
"I'm here with some friends," i said after a minute.

"Where are they?" he asked.

"I kinda left them when I senced your aura," I said.

"Why?"

"I wanted to see who the hunter was so i would know to stay away from him for the rest fo the night."

"Oh," Jayden said seeming to buy my lie.

My phone then started to vibrate. I looked at the screen. It read one new message. It was from Light.

I sighed and closed my phone and put it back in my pocket. "I have to go. My friends are wondering where I am." Isaid standing up. Jayden followed me.

"Ok. Hey maybe you can show me around the school on Monday?" Jayden asked hopeful.

"Maybe. It was really nice seeing you again Jay," I said running towards the peach tree inn. I saw Light waiting outside.

"Who was that?" Light asked.

"You were spying on me?" I asked.

"I told the others that I would stay by the door incase you came in and were hurt," Light said seriously. "Was he the hunter?"

"Yeah," I said.

"Funny you seemed pretty friendly with him for him being a hunter," Light said with an eyebrow raised.

"What are you getting at Light?" I asked irritated.

"I'm just saying it seemed like you were alittle too friendly with that hunter," Light said with a shrug.

"He was an old friend from the town that I used to live in before I came here. He was one of the only people that acctually gave a damn if i lived or died when I was younger and we haven't seen each other in years so we were just catching up," I said to Light.

"So you don't like him?" Light asked.

"NO! Jayden's like my brother and that's how I think of him. I would never in a million years like him other than that," I said to her. "Why are you so concerned with this anyway?"

"Because he's a hunter. I don't want you to get hurt," Light said with a concered expression on her face. "Does he even know what you are?"

"Yeah he knows and so does his family. Live used to help them out with stuff in the past," Light's brow creased. "He comes from a family of bounty hunters. They collect rewards on rouges that have gone against the laws that were established years ago. They do not kill innocent people. If they did then Live would have never helped them."

Light sighed. "Does he like you?" she asked bluntly.

"I don't know. I haven't seen him in years....I really don't want to think about it," I said shacking my head.

"If he does you know that you can't return his feelings right?" Light said not looking at me.

"I know that and I don't plan on falling for Jay. I mean he'slike my brother and even thinking about having those kind of feelings.....it makes me sick!" I said with a face that I would make if I was to throw up. Light snickered.

Light didn't ask me anymore questions and we walked up the stairs to the others. After asuring them that I was ok amillion times we left the rave and walked through the woods to Kyle's van and he drove us all home. I began to run through the new student's that would be joining us on Monday.

Let's see there is my trouble making brother that has the touch of death that he can't control to save his life and a hunter that hates all immortal creatures. This should be interesting.
