Meanwhile, back in Cavus, Sophia slammed her fist down on the table in Lykaios' kitchen, 'Where the hell could they be?'
Mavros sighed, 'we don't know Sophia, if we did, do you not think we'd be out there getting them back? We want them back as much as you do.'
Sophia slumped into a chair next to Sunny, who sat quietly looking at the floor, 'honestly, if he hurts a hair on Raven's head…'
Lykaios put his hand on Sophia's shoulder, 'calm down sis, we'll get them back.'
Fable looked out the window at the people walking through the streets. The weather looked pretty downcast, the clouds were fit to spill over and rain soon. 'I'm going to check on Candida and Ignis. Back in a bit.'
He pushed open the door and left the house, trudging along towards the hospital, his thoughts with his son. He loved his children more than anything, both in their own ways. But without Raven around, the twins were not the twins when they were separated, they behaved differently. They went quiet, they lost the will to laugh or smile. It was like half of them were missing, which sounded very cliché, but in theory, it was correct.
He reached the hospital, deciding to visit Ignis first and see if he was awake.
Walking into the room Fable saw him sat up in bed, a single hand in the air. One finger pointed to the ceiling as he moved it in a slow arc around him, keeping his left eye fixed on the finger. His right eye, Fable noticed, was not sporting a bandage. His long fringe had been brushed back, and a large wound ran from one side of his nose across his face until it stopped just before his hairline to the right of his face. Fable watched him as he moved his hand from side to side. He was testing his range of vision, with his one remaining eye.
He stopped and looked up at Fable, 'Hi, sorry, was just testing my eyesight.'
Fable smiled, 'no problem. How're you feeling?'
Ignis leant back against the pillows he was propped up on, 'Not the best really. I've just been told that im half blind and will probably never have the strength in my arm to wield a bow ever again, so not great.'
Fable sat down on the chair next to the bed, 'your arm's really that bad?'
Ignis nodded, 'screwed up my muscles or something. But it's fine, luckily I'm not that bad with a sword either. Lykaios all taught us to use two swords at a time, so I'm fine using my other hand.' He paused, 'I hear Candida's not too well either.'
Fable hesitated, 'well, considering your injuries I'd say she's not that bad. A few broken ribs. Will probably have to resort to swords like you, I don't know if she'll be able to handle the flail after this.'
Ignis laughed softly, 'The flail isn't that bad, hers is actually hollow when she's not using it, when she does use it it's full of ice, weighing it down quite a bit, because she can make it really dense. She can then target her enemies by controlling the direction the ice is pushing in, as well as swinging with her arm, that's why she's got good aim.'
Fable raised his eyebrows, 'wow, how many years have we been here? And I never knew that.'
Ignis laughed softly, 'there are many things we don't know about our friends.' His expression hardened then, and he sighed heavily, 'Aima went with them I take it.'
'Yeah… she went back, they've taken Kohaku, Rain… and Raven with them too.'
Ignis fixed his good eye on Fable, 'Raven?'
Fable nodded, and Ignis groaned, leaning back on the pillows, 'this is bad.'
'What's he got them for Ignis?' Fable leant forward,
Ignis closed his eye, 'When you spoke briefly with Placido, did he mention his sister?'
'Yes. That she's alive.'
'Evelina, Placido's twin sister, has powers just as he does. Whilst he has the ability to possess a person's powers, Evelina has the ability to draw out powers in people, and force them to use them. If they've got Kohaku, they may be planning to use her dark side to their advantage. She may be able to control it, but if she were forced to use it, well she may lose control under the force.'
Fable closed his eyes, his fists curling into balls, 'And Raven? What's he there for? Sunny has the transformation gene.'
'Raven does the life taking of the life transfer though, does he not? Combine that with telekinesis, he can do serious damage. You remember his demonstration of organ destroying at the age of three.'
'But these people are Unleavables, it won't kill them, will it?'
Ignis nodded, 'they feel pain and die just as we do. They just do it for the second time.'
Fable sighed, 'we need to find them fast. Any idea where they could be?'
Ignis shook his head, 'your guess is as good as mine. Until the fight, I was unaware Placido and Evelina were even alive. What they've been doing all this time I have no idea.'
Fable continued to talk with Ignis for some time, before leaving him so that he could rest. He thought it best not to disturb Candida, from what Sophia had said, she hadn't spoken much since waking up.
On the way back he was surprised to find the second youngest of the Elders striding towards him.
'Um, hi Sir, you looking for Lyakios?' Fable asked him.
The man was a good bit shorter than Fable, but still appeared quite intimidating, 'Actually I was looking for all of you. We've received some interesting news from the Elders of Solor.'
