I had finished two and a half of my Jell-o’s when someone put three green apple Jell-o’s right in front of me. They kept walking and sat a few tables down, making it so I could only see the back of their head, I knew perfectly well who it was.
I tried to pick up all my Jell-o’s in my one good working hand but failed. I walked up behind the person and grabbed the back their neck, dragging them to my table. By the time I was sitting down, they had regained their posture.
We ate in silence, except of the loud crunch of his green apple.
I only had one and a half Jell-o’s left, “You so did that just to make mad.”
He smiled.
“What are you doing here?” I asked.
“What are YOU doing here?” He shot back.
“Eating.” To make my point I ate a large spoonful of Jell-o.
“Me to.” He took a large bite of apple.
I snorted, “You’re awake.”
“So are you.”
“I hate hospitals.”
“It’s a common trend.”
“Why are YOU awake.” I wanted him to answer.
“Why are you?”
I glared at him, “I’ve been sleeping since 11, yesterday, it’s 1:30 am right now, that’s what? 14 and a half hours? I think that’s enough sleeping for me.”
“Actually there was a full day in between there, so it’s more like 26 and a half hours.”
“I graduate today.”
“Your not going, but the twins took us to your school and we have a present for you and August.”
“I am to going to my own graduation.”
“No, your not.”
“Oh, and why not?!?”
“You were on the news.”
“And? So what.”
“My father says something about to much exposure something, something, something, I don’t know, but you aren’t allowed to go.”
I glared at him. I sighed, “Fine whatever, so a present?”
“A surprise once August wakes up, since your up I figure it wont be long, you actually ended up losing more blood than she did.”
“Is she okay?” I asked softly.
“You saved her life.”
“You saved mine.”
“A lot of thanks I got from you for that.”
“You should have counted to three!”
“If I had gone to three you would have tensed your muscles make it harder and more painful to remove the knife!”
“I don’t care!”
He glared at me, I glared back.
“Thank you.” I ground out through clenched teeth.
He nodded his head.
I let out a long breath.
“So, why are you awake?” I asked innocently.
Adien looked at the far wall, “I don’t sleep well.”
“You slept fine at my house, and you were sleeping when I woke up”
“I noticed that.”
Neither of us said anything about me falling asleep on his hand constantly.
I ate the last spoonful of Jell-o and put all the container in a neat stack, I picked them all up and went to throw them away. Adien followed me and threw away his apple core.
I walked to the elevator and stood at the buttons, down meant to my room, up meant to the long term care. I didn’t want to go to my room, all I could do their was sit in the big dark room, listening to every one sleep, I wouldn’t be able to sleep myself, especially knowing Adien would be right there. I didn’t want to go back to the long term area, even though they had a TV, but everyone would be trying to sleep, and I didn’t particularly want to see Margaret again, especially with Adien right there.
Adien pushed the down button, I sighed and followed him into the elevator, but before he could push any buttons I quickly pushed the button for the main floor, I stood directly infront of the panel so he couldn’t press the button that would take us to my room.
I looked back at him to see him leaning against the far wall of the elevator, smirking at me, I looked away.
When we got to the bottom I followed the long glass windows to the door that lead to the outside square. The building was a rectangle with a large rectangular space in the middle, that was a garden. I sat on one of the benches that located the very middle of the garden, Adien sat on the bench across from me.
If you looked up you could see all the windows that surrounded the inner rooms of the building. I couldn’t see the moon or any stars, it was cloudy.
I faintly wondered which widow August was in. “Who all was in the room?” I whispered
“Everyone.” He answered barely louder than I asked.
“Everyone who?”
“Connor, Sean, Jake, Justin, Brent, Your Brother, August, Your Mom.” He left large spaces between each name.
“Connor loves August you know.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, he’s been waiting for her to give up on her boyfriend.”
“Hmm.”
“Her boyfriend is obsessed with August, he hates me.”
“Why?”
“I’ve been trying to kill him for the past two years.”
“That’s the man who... was at the mall?”
“Yeah.”
“You might have seceded, he’s in a coma, broken neck.”
I was silent, “Oh.”
“I hope you did.”
I smiled, “Oh? You don’t even know him.”
“A person like that deserves to die.”
I was silent, I look a big breath, “I don’t want to be responsible for taking someone’s life.”
“But if you are you could also be saving more peoples life’s, just like you did August’s. If he is capable of doing those kinds of things now, imagine when he’s older, with a wife, and kids, that could have become August whole life, being beaten, taking care of beaten children, being ra.ped to produce the childeren, your saving more than just her.”
I was still looking up, one of the lights turned on, it was one of six lights that were on. The bottom lights were all on.
We were silent, I looked at him, he was looking up as well, something in the window behind him caught my eye. There were two people running through the hallway. I stood up, Adien looked over his shoulder to see what was going on. One of the people looked out the window and saw us he stopped running, the other person noticed and did the same.
They walked to the door and came out side.
It was Sean and Brent. “God, there you are, you can’t just wake up and run away like that, I mean Jesus, we were all freaking out.” Sean was panting
“I didn’t want to wake up anyone. Sorry, I guess.”
“It’s okay I guess. God, Bella, I’m so glad you’re okay.”
“Yeah, you’ve been asleep way to long for comfort.” Brent put in.
“Oh, well, um, yeah?” I didn’t know what to say.
I wanted to sit back down, but not with everyone there.
“We need to go tell everyone your okay.”
I sighed, back into the hospital we go.
I tried to run away after I was told I had to get married..::..Ch. 22..::..well that didn't work
