The unconscious mind works in funny ways. Kimi liked to think of it as a large try on which thought piled together, and sometimes when you dug too deep and too long for the thought to release another little thought is slowly pushed further and further to the edge until it rolls off into the material world… and oh it can cause such chaos.
Kimi sat on her bed petting the cat waiting for Ryoma to get home so she could turn in the poor creature. The cat suddenly leaped from the bed and made it’s way to the window. Scratching the glass and complaining the cat cried out for freedom
“Is he there yet? Come here you silly beast” She picked the cat up and held it close to her as she crossed the street and rang the bell.
She heard a “coming!” from the other side and then Ryoma emerged from behind the door
“your cat got locked outside again and your dad’s not home apparently so I kept him inside for a bit” She handed the cat to the boy
“thank you… again… would you like some tea?”
“sure!”

Kimi stared at her tea cup, and even though on the outside she had the most calm and composed appearance, on the inside she was burning with the anxiety of finding a though to slip, something to break the silence, something to break the stare of the eyes currently before her. And as she dug deeper and deeper into the contents of the tray, thoughts started to disorganize and spread, and it was just a matter of seconds before that little thought, formed after lots of work and analysis, would accidentally roll off and penetrate both the girl and the boy’s ears.
“I love you” it came in a small whisper, an almost inaudible murmur
“what?” the boy’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts, a rough landing back in the real world… realizing what she had done she looked for cover-up
“I- I… Uhh… well… I don’t know…” she felt pathetic for such a lame response and tried to look away from the boy who’s eyebrow was now arched in confusion
“liar”
She had known him for so long… years! He was not going to let it go, he knew she was lying, he knew for a fact.
“I said… you see… after a lot of thinking, I think, just THINK that… I love you”
“just think? What a shame…”
“what? W-why? Hey! Come back here!”
He turned to her and for every step he took towards the girl her heart skipped a beat. She felt the warm embrace of the boys arms wrapped around her firmly keeping her in place. She didn’t have the guts to return the hug for the had no idea what was taking place.
“you should get home, it’s late…” he caressed her hair and it was then that she finally wrapped two shy arms around him
“no, let me stay just a little longer… just… here”
