A young girl, maybe seven years old, sat at a table kicking her legs boredly. Nothing much really happend around the ninja academy these days, especially with super quiet Neji Hyuga sitting beside her.
She glanced over at him, and he turned to give her a small glare. A small gasp escaped her lips, and she straightened up, feeling a shock from the buns on top of her head to her toes.
Really, Tenten had never gotten a good look at Neji, so this was her first time making anything remotely close to eye contact. Her first impression?
He's... so cute! she thought in shock, apparently thinking he might've been quiet and anti social because of the way he looked. And what's with the bandages?
"Is there something you want?" he questioned snootily, and she realized she was staring at him.
Tenten felt her cheeks heat up, then shook her head. "Nope! Nothing I need!"
"Hn, then stop staring at me," he demanded, his lips forming a thin line.
"Fine, I will!" she exclaimed, looking away and towards the front, forcing her eyes forward.
What a snob! But... he is pretty cute... she thought, blushing lightly, then she smiled to herself.

The following day at noon, Tenten sat by herself near the window with her food. Staring out the window at a lunchless Neji, she was suddenly inspired.
She walked out to where Neji was sitting under a tree, eyes closed and arms behind his head like a pillow.
"Uh, Neji-kun," she said, half not expecting him to answer.
"You again? What is it this time?" he replied, voice shockingly calm and nonchalant.
"I was just wondering if... you wanted to share my lunch? I saw you didn't have any food..." she trailed off, already stating her point and the courage she'd had leaving her.
"I got up late this morning, didn't have time to make anything. It's my own fault and I don't need your charity," he snapped back, Tenten squeaking and gaining a freaked out look.
"Well fine! I was just coming over here to see if you wanted half of my lunch, but if you're gonna be that way then I don't think I wanna share with you," she said indignantly, turning to walk away just as Neji's stomach betrayed him with a loud growl.
"Agh! Shut up!" he cried, punching himself in the stomach like any child who'd just lost his cool to his gut would.
"Here," Tenten giggled, changing her mind once again, and sitting next to him. "It's a lot better than it looks."
Neji gave her a mistrusting look, but picked silently at the food anyway
Pride filled the small girl as he took a bite, and then went back for another, seemingly pleased. This small, short-lived bonding was never mentioned, as when the two went back inside, they went back to pretending they didn't know the other.

A few months later, as Tenten and Neji slowly accepted the other into their lives, something unexpected happened.
I wonder where Tenten is today... Neji thought randomly, as after about an hour of class he finally noticed that said girl was no where in the room. Hm, weird...
As class at the ninja academy ended, Neji decided he would head over to Tenten's house, just for the hell of it. When he reached the cute home, he knocked, and was greeted by a miserable looking Tenten.
"Neji!?" she asked in surprise, eyes lighting up as she welcomed him in. "What's up?"
"You weren't in school today, so I thought I'd stop by..." he said slowly, staring intently at the bandage on Tenten's forehead. "What happened to you?"
She suddenly looked really embarrased, and began staring at her feet like they were the most interesting thing in the world. "Well, y'see... when I was getting up this morning, I kinda tripped and fell... down the stairs."
He gave her a how-could-you-possibly-do-that look and shook his head.
"So my mom made me stay home cuz I had a concussion or something," she explained, shrugging her shoulders lightly.
"Did it hurt?" Neji asked, watching as Tenten rubbed the bandage.
"Yeah, for a little while, and now I just have a headache, but I think I'll be fine," she ended brightly.
Suddenly, an idea struck the young boy, and he beckoned her closer. She obliged, and leaned in, like they were sharing secrets.
But to Tenten's surprise, Neji placed a soft and very light kiss on her bandage, then smiled and said, "My dad used to do that whenever I got hurt. You'll get better for sure!"
A grin broke out across the young girls face, and she giggled an agreement, a thank you, and a salutation as Neji left.
It was maybe a half an hour later that her mothercame home with pain medication, offering it to her daughter as she took off her shoes.
But Tenten just smiled a secret smile, and said "Don't worry, Mom. He kissed it and made it all better," before bounding off to the backyard.
Slightly confused, her mother just smiled as well, not bothering to question her probablydelusion daughter. But she sighed in relief at the words all better...

For KasumiTy, who messaged me with a request. I hope you like it, even though I don't think it'll turn out very good... but that's just pessimistic me talking. Enjoy. Also, just FYI, this could kind of be considered as going by the plot line, but it's back when they're back in the academy.Did you like this story? Make one of your own!
