RP: The Amate Clan Shinobi Stories part 5

Your name is Amate Rune and you are a shinobi in Konoha. You have recentl;y discovered that your sister is alive after the total destroyance of your clan. You pretty much hate her, even though she is sweet as anything (jealousy?) Your best friend and you don't talk anymore, and even though he wishes you woul;dn't ignore him, you hang out with Sasuke now, and he hangs out with Kaeori, your sister.

It's been nearly a month. You are on a mission with Ebisou Sensei and your sister. *Thinking to yourself* This sucks. I hate my mentor, and I hate my sister even more, and this mission is absolutely ridiculous. Retrieve a turkey? Aren't turkeys wild? Why the hell would anyone want a wild animal? More over why would anyone in the world want a turkey!

You search the ground. You are in a forest. Something in a bush moves and you throw a kunai at it. The bush falls still. You walk over to it.

"Why did you do that!" Kaeori shrieks. "What if you killed it!?" "How else are we supposed to catch it?" you say. Ebisou walks calmly over to you and shifts his glasses with his middle finger. It looks like he's flipping you off. He probably is, you think to yourself.

"Your sister is right, Rune," He says. "If you killed the turkey, then we fail this mission, and in addition, we have to pay refunds and additional money for not completeing the mission and the damage caused. Plus its a bad reputation for Konoha and yourself. It may even affect your sist-"

You flip out. You turn around, flailing your arms as you walk backwards toward the bush, looking at Ebisou. "Don't call her my sister! Just call her her name-you know it don't you? Yuo are not my father, you do not need to refer to us in terms of family relation!!"

You turn around. They have stopped walking toward the bush and just stare at your back. You peek in the bush, unalarmed. You suddenly feel a sharp slice to your head, then some warm, thick liquid oozing down your head. Then everything goes black. You wake up in a cave. A fire is going not far off from you, you can feel it's heat on your skin. You sit up and your forehead throbs. It feels like your brain is continuously pounding in your head. Your put your hand to it instictively, and feel a bandage rapped around you head. You look around.

At first everything is blurry, but after a while your eyes get adjusted to the new setting and you notice a figure to your left, crouching over something with his back to you. Your head pounds insanely and you groan. You feel like your going to throw up.

The person turns around and jumps. It is a young boy, with jet black hair, dark eyes, and dark freckles. You focus a little more and notice that his freckles are black, which is the first time you have ever seen or heard of such a thing. In his hand he has a wet cloth, and on his face is a look of pure terror and fright.

"Im s-s-sorry! I-I didn'y m-mean to d-do it. R-really!" "What are you talking about?" You say, extremely exhausted and in extreme pain. "Stop sputtering, or I think I'll pass out. Everything is all spinning as it is."

"S-sorry. You just w-well-" "Hey kid, I said stop stuttering didn't I? I thought I did" The boy gulps and slowly approaches you, cautiously. "S-sorry" he says again. "Um you shouldn't be sitting up right now. I don't think it's a very good idea for you." "What happened?" You say, wincing in pain as he slowly, gently peels off the bandage and dabs the wet cloth on your forehead. He backs up, holding the cloth and gulps again. "I- said I was sorry! Y-you were at my cave and I- I was s-s-scared!" Tears slowly drip down his face, as your own blood drips down yours.

"Shut up!" You yell harshly. "Is this wound fatal? Do you even know what your doing? How can I trust you!" You slowly get up and try to grab the clothe from the kid. He lets you take it.

"I I do know a little, my sister was a medical nija, she used healing ninjutsu all the time on our clan." As soon as he said that, he covered his mouth and his eyes widened.

"Hey kid, whats wrong with you now? You need to stop. If your sister really was a nija then you shoud be a bit more tougher than this. I'm dying here and your over there crying as if your life is ending."

The kid wiped his eyes and turned around, but kept his eyes on you. He grabbed a fresh bandage off a wooden table and walked over to you. He took the wet cloth and began to wipe away the blood that had fallen. Then he wrapped the new bandage lightly around your head.

You expected him to say something but seeing that he didn't, you began to ask questions.

"So kid, whats your name? And what happened to my head?"

"I don't ned to tell you my name," he replied defensively.

"Well then what happened to my head?"

"I's too hard to explain, I don't think you'll be able to take it in right now."

"Listen kid!" you yelled at him. He jumped back, and a piece of bandage hung in your face. "I dont care who's territory I'm on or how badly I'm hurt! I don't care if I'm dying! I want some answers! NOW!!"

The boy looked like he was going to cry, but instead he swallowed and seemed to hold it back. After a while, slowly, reluctantly, he began. "My name is Kai, and I was just protecting my cave. You came over it and I didn't know you were a human. I thought you were an animal. Just earlier a turkey passed over my cave and I-"

"A turkey!" You jumped, and he jumped too, startled. "Yeah a turkey, why?" "What did you do with the turkey?" "Roasted it, what else?" You nearly jump ten feet in the air. "YOU WHAT!?" "Was I not supposed to eat the turkey?" You shake your head, hopelessly. "Now they're gonna think I killed it, and it was you, evben though theres no way they'de believe me unless I told them where your cave was and showed them you." You sigh. Kai looks a bit frightened. "Your'e not going to rat my cave out are you? Am I going to be hurt? I swear I'm really sorry! I didnt mean to harm you- and I didn't know that turkey was yours!"

You sigh and look up. "It wasn't mine, kid, but it was my mission to retrieve it. And I completely messed up on this mission. My third one and already I absolutely hate everything! I'm always scolded, I have to be paired up with some stupid girl who calls herself my sister, and now my best friend is practically going out with her! I hate my life!! I used to be grateful that Itachi saved me from dying with the rest of my clan. But not anymore! I hate him and the rest of the world!"

The boy stepped back and tried to avert his eyes. Finally he spoke. "So your a ninja huh? My clan was cleared out too. It was always a sick clan. My sister was a medical ninja and she was always trying to heal everyone. She was around too many sick people." Tears began to roll down the boys cheek, and he continued to stare at the floor, talking through muffled words. "Eventually sickness took my parents and my sister was the last one I had. Unlike you, I loved her dearly, because she was the only one I had.

"Then one day, ninja came and killed off the rest of my clan. I never knew why, but I think my sister did. She had fallen very ill, from being around so many sick people in the clan. I knew that it would affect her if she kept doing it, but she always smiled. She wanted them to live. She wanted everone to live, they were always the first one's she thought about. And when the ninja came for me, even though she was deathly ill, she took me to this cave, and hid me. he knmew she would eventually die. She didn't want to be a burden to me, so she went out and left me here, with all her healing stuff, and she tried to defend herself, but she was secretly defending me. I knew it." Tears poured down his face now, and you can barely make out what he is saying. "She always thought of everyone other than herself."

By now Kai was crying hystrerically. You can't stand to see him like that. "I'm sorry Kai," you say, slowly getting up. You put your hand on his shoulder. Then slowly, you reach down and give him a tight hug. "Thank you Kai," youy say. "If you were scared of me before, you've certainly grown braver within these minutes, and youve really opened up. Yourself, and me." You let him go and he wipes his eyes. He looks at you. "So your not gonna do anything?" he asks, his eyes bloodshot from crying. You shake your head. "Why should I? Sure I'm a ninja, and you have a right to fear me, but not all ninja are bad, and you were only protecting the last things you have, the thigns that are preciuos to you. What you did was bravery, your true and weak but your good. You'll get strong, and strongest in the heart more than anything else, I promise." With that you turn to leave. "Wait, but I need to show you how to get out," he says running after you. "And I knwo this woods. Maybe I should lead you back to your village." "It's alright, kiddo," you say. "I think I can find my way, after all I'm a ninja right?" "But your head! You shouldn't walk now! Maybe you should just rest a while, I don't mind." You point to your head. "If this cut is really that bad, it's probably best I head off now, so I can have a medical ninja look at it. Ya know?" You start to walk away again and the boy calls out to you. "Wait!" You turn around to look at him, his gaze falls to the ground sheepishly. "It's not just that. I have to admit what I've done. I'm the one who killed the turkey, and you'll get in trouble if you go back alone, you said so yourself." You shrug. "I don't mind the blame. Actually I guess I'm pretty used to the scoldings by now." "It's more than you think. I was the one who did it, and for that reason, I need to confess. I just.. for.. for someone else... like her. If you want just think of it as me doing it to relieve myself, but... but..." He looks up. "She always did it for everyone else!" He cried." I want to be like her!" You look blankly at him. Then you close your eyes and smile. "Sure," you say with a shrug. "What the heck." While your not looking, Kai grabs a big waist pouch, fills it with some herbs, antidotes, potions, repellents and bottles of gases. Then you both set off.
