//BROOKE.//
I sighed in relief, helping Caroline up. I looked on the side of my pajama pants and there was a little rip.
"Damnit." I muttered.
"Caroline, I think you and Patrick should let Ms. Stump meet her grandson." Ms. Wentz said. Yeah, it seemed like all our parentsthing to dowas divorce. Patrick's mom talked to Ms. Wentz alot, but never brought up the babies due to mine and Caroline's request for privacy. Patrick looked at Brody then Caroline.
"I still think some other time would be better." Patrick shook his head. Caroline looked relieved.
"Well you two girls go on upstairs and clean up. Breakfast will be ready in a bit." Ms. Wentz instructed.
"Yes, mom." Caroline and I said in unsion, doing our little 'bow down' and ran up the stairs. Caroline brushed her hair as I showered.
"You seemed relieved when I told you Pete and I were having dinner too tonight. What were you really expecting?" I asked.
"I was expecting a 'Shit, Caroline. Where do we stash the body?'." Caroline joked. I came out of the shower with a towel around me and flicked water at her. She yelped laughing a little. I grabbed my clothes and changed back in the shower and we both started on our make up.
"Isn't it kind of awkward that the guys were over here this early in the morning?" Caroline asked.
"Well..they did come to see the kiddos." I pointed out.
"Yeah, but I think they might just be kissing ass." Caroline stuck her butt at towards me. I kissed my hand and smacked her butt.
"That actually hurt." Caroline frowned, rubbing her behind. We busted out laughing.
"What if one of our kids turns out special ed?" I asked.
"What? How would that happen?" Caroline looked over at me.
"We did do a lot of pregnant belly bumps and drew on our stomachs." I answered.
"Oh, yeah. I remember that." Caroline nodded, laughing.
"I doubt it. If they do, we'll love them the same, right?" Caroline said. I agreed.
"Why is it that today makes me keep remembering that day...you and Patrick attacked Pete and I with peanut butter?" I asked, teasing my hair a little.
"Hahaha, oh yeah. No clue. That was fun though. Good times." Caroline nodded. She looked down at the sink, frowning a bit.
"Oh, babe, I'm sorry. I didn't mean-" I started and gave Caroline a hug.
"Its alright." She sighed. I put my finger up to my lips as a 'shh' gesture and we both got real quiet. We heard whispering outside our door then it stopped. I walked over to the door quietly and jerked it open. The boys were right infront of the door. Caroline and I both yelled and I shut the door real quick again, hitting one of them.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" Caroline yelled.
"I DON'T KNOW." I pushed the door shut.
"YOU HIT ONE OF THEM!" Caroline shouted.
"ITS THEIR FAULT. THEY WERE EAVESDROPPING." I shouted, confused. We both busted out laughing, opening the door to see Pete rubbing his head. Patrick was laughing a little at Pete. My cell phone started to go off and I walked past the boys to grab it. We were all still laughing as I answered.
"Hello?" I chuckled.
"Brooke? Whats going on?" Brendon asked.
"Oh, hey, babe. Sorry, Caroline and I uhh...just were playing around. Whats up?" I asked, leaning the phone on my shoulder and putting a belt on, my back turned to everyone. I didn't realize it got quiet.
"You want to make up for that date tonight?" Brendon asked.
"I can't, I'm busy tonight." I informed.
"How about lunch then?" He asked again.
"Lunch? Sure, I can do that." I agreed.
"Great, meet me at Starbucks in a few minutes?" He said. I looked over at the clock, it said 12:00.
"Sweet, see you then. Bye." I hung up and shoved my phone in my back pocket. I grabbed my tote bag.
"Leaving so soon, cupcake?" Caroline asked, throwing a hoodie at me.
"Yeah, sorry. I'm meeting Brendon for lunch at Starbucks. You three want anything?" I asked. They all said no and Caroline gave me a funny look.
"I'm sorry, but can you guys give Brooke and I a minute alone?" She asked. The guys nodded, going back downstairs to play with the babies. Caroline shut the door.
"What the hell are you thinking?" Caroline asked.
"I'm thinking I'm hungry. Why?" I was confused.
"Lunch with Brendon? Thats a date. Aren't you and Pete trying to fix things?" She flailed her hands.
"It isn't a date. Its just lunch. If Alex asked you to lunch wouldn't you accept? Plus, I'm only going to tell Brendon about the whole situation." I explained.
"Alright. Just...don't lead Brendon on anymore. I know your such a big flirt." Caroline sighed. I put my arm around Caroline.
"Now where would you get an idea like that, sweet thang?" I teased. Caroline laughed, shoving me.
"Alright, i'll be back soon." I waved goodbye, running down the stairs.
"I'm going to get some lunch, Mom. I'll be back in about an hour." I walked into the living room.
"Alright, be careful. I'm leaving around 3 so be back before then." She said. I hugged herbye. I told the guys later and left. I saw Brendon already sitting at a booth with bagels and my frappicino. I smiled and made my way over to him.
"Hey, thanks for getting it already." I thanked, sitting down. He nodded.
"How'd things go last night?" He asked.
"Uhh, better than what I expected I suppose." I sighed. It was really bugging me, I was scared to tell him. He just nodded. We ate and talked about Panic the whole time.
"You have enough time to swing by my place? You left one of your hoodies and I forgot to grab it on the way over here." Brendon asked. I agreed and we went back to his house. It wasn't as big as Pete's house but it was close. We went up to his bedroom. I left it here last time I used his computer, which was in his room. Ryan lived with him sometimes when they weren't out of state. I saw the hoodie on the back of the chair infront of the computer.
"Thats where it went." I grabbed it.
"Thanks." I turned around and smiled at Brendon. He nodded with a small smile. He gave me a small kiss which I thought was a goodbye kiss. But it turned into much more than that. He grabbed my hips and I dropped the hoodie. We walked backwards towards the bed, the end ofthe bedmade me knees bend and he fell above me on the bed. When I felt his hands go to my jeans I shoved him a little so he'd stop.
"Whats wrong?" He asked, getting off me.
"I can't do this. I'm sorry, Brendon. You're a great guy, its just-" I bent down to pick up my hoodie and grabbed my bag.
"Its what?" He asked, a little confused. I pushed my hair back and looked at the ground.
"Its just Pete and I are trying to make things work again. For Aleera's sake." I sighed.
"For Aleera? He can still be a father to Aleera without you two having to be forced back together. Its not something you want to do. After what he did, its not what you want to do, is it?" He asked. I bit my lip.
"I don't really know, Brendon." I answered. I grabbed the door handle.
"He could still break your heart again. Do you think you could handle that?" Brendon questioned. I turned back around to look at him.
"I'd probably become suicidal, but its just a risk I've been persuaded to take. I'm sorry." I sighed, finally leaving. I made it home by 2:30 so Ms. Wentz left early to her daily shopping with Ms. Stump. She told me the boys left when they got a call from work, dinner was still an okay, and Caroline left to go by Alex's. I put a big blanket out on the floor and played with Aleera and Brody.
"No sex, you two. If you do, its you two that will only be allowed to fall in love with each other. But you two are second cousins. But it'll work out. If you do have sex, be sure to come to your mothers. We'll get you condoms. Babies are bad." I explained. They just made grunting noises as they shook their toys that made noises.
"Good point. I accept that idea." I nodded, grabbing a toy and jiggling it too. The babies slowly started to fall asleep so I put them in their cribs. They usually slept about three times a day. I ran upstairs and grabbed two rubberbands. I put my hair in pigtails. Then I took golden eyeliner and dotted freckles on my cheeks. I found shorts and a flowered shirt and put them on. I looked around the entire house for balloons to make water balloons.
"Damnit." I sighed, trying to be quiet so I didn't wake the babies. We usually kept the cribs in the kitchen. Then I got an idea. I ran upstairs to the bathroom and pulled out a box of condoms Travie gave us a few months back as a gag gift. I took two of them and filled it with water. I turned off all the lights in the living room, keeping the water-filled condoms with me. I saw a car pull up. It was about 7:00 so I figured Caroline got back. When they got into the door and turned on the lights I emerged from the couch looking like a 7-year old and threw water condoms at who I thought was Caroline. Since I figured shes the only other one with a house key. Well, with my luck of course Pete would have a key, its his mom's house. He got soaked with condoms.
"WHAT THE FUCK?" He shouted. Once he wiped his eyes and saw it was me he just gave me the most hilarious look I'd ever seen.
"Did you just throw two condoms at me?" He asked.
"We didn't have water balloons. So they subsitiuted." I said with a blank face.
"Really? Why'd I deserve that?" He asked.
"I thought you were Caroline." I frowned.
"You two do mean things to each other." He shook his head.
"Yeah, what do you want? I'm not supposed to be over at your place for another two hours." I asked.
"Patrick and I went to Target today and saw baby toys. I was coming by to drop this off." He wiggled a bag and handed it to me.
"Seeing as you look 7 with your outfit, thats actually meant for Aleera." He teased. I laughed and looked inside the bag. There was a teething ring, a butterfly shaker toy, a dress, a baby hoodie, and baby shoes.
"How'd you know the right sizes?" I asked, taking the baby hoodie out and adoring how cute it was.
"Mom told me." He smiled. I laughed.
"They're incredibly adorable." I smiled.
"If we're having dinner in 2 hours, whos watching the babies? Caroline?" he asked.
"Actually Caroline and Patrick are having dinner tonight too. Your mom will be back soon to watch them." I explained.
"Oh, alright. Could I..see..Aleera?" He asked.
"Pete, shes your baby too. Of course." I nodded. I went upstairs to graba towel for him. When I came back downstairs, he was staring at her in her crib since she was asleep. I handed him his towel.
"Thanks." He grabbed it.
"Shes so freaking adorable." He smiled, turning his head slightly to look at her from another angle.
"Yeah..it..it was so hard not to think of you when I saw her. Shesa spittin' image of you." I sighed.
"I fucking wish so bad I was there for the birth." He frowned. I pushed my hair behind my ear. I couldn't help but think maybe if we had another kid he could be there for that ones birth. But the last thing I should be thinking about is having another baby. I shouldn't of even had this one.
"I'll go ahead and get gone. I need to go get ready for tonight anyway. See you tonight." Pete sat the towel on the table and walked to the door.
"Yeah, should I bring anything?" I asked.
"Just yourself." He smiled. I nodded. He was about to leave the door but turned back around to face me.
"I ran into Brendon today at the studio. He told me what happened earlier." He said, with no expression on his face so I didn't know what he was thinking.
"Oh. About that, listen-" I started.
"He also told me what you said. I've already had too many chances, but thanks for giving me one more." he grabbed my hand. I smiled. I gave him one long but sweet kiss.
"I'll see you tonight." I sighed. He leftas Caroline pulled up. We ran upstairs to change and get each others opinion on what to wear and what to do and not to do tonight.
