She falling hard for him...her only nightmare is that he wont catch her...
Her breathing became un-easy and her head spun. Hannah's vision faded.
"G-Gerarddd..." Her voice slurred a bit and her eyes fluttered before shutting. Her body fell limp into his arms.
Gerard's eyes widened as he scrambled to hold her body up.
"Hannah! Wake up!! Hannah!" He shook her frail limp body.
He knelt down and layed her body across the stairs. Quickly, he flipped out his cell phone and dialed 9-1-1.
"Hello. What's the problem sir" The responding officer sounded un-alert.
"Hello. I need an ambulence on Black Street. I'm in a apartment complex. I was-"
She cut him off. "What apartment complex sir?"
Gerard huffed. "I don't know!" His voiced cracked with panic.
"Can you find out please?"
He ran down the stairs and bolted outside. Holding the door open with his foot.
"The Hamilton Complex or something like that. I can't tell. Its dark." His words flooded out.
"Okay Sir, a paramedic is on the way. Please tell me what happened."
Gerard's words spilled out in one string.
"Idunno. Iwaswalkingwiththisgirlandsheslipped and- I caught herandthensheblackedout!" Tears started to well in the corner of his eyes. He wiped them away with the back of his hand.
"Okay sir. Please stay calm. Everythings going to be okay. Where in the apartment are you?"
"We're in the stairwell."
"Okay Sir. Thank you." The phone clicked shut.
Gerard ran back inside and into the stairwell. He knelt next to Hannah.
"Its gonna be okay.. I promise..." He touched her hand and held it tightly.
An echo of voices and doors opening filled the stairwell.
Gerard jumped and turned around as a first-aid team flooded around him and pushed him out of the way.
"No!" Gerard struggled to get to her again.
A strong, rough hand grabbed his shoulder and squeezed.
"Sir. Its okay. She's gonna be okay." The voice was low and cold.
He stood up and looked at the first-aid responder.
"Who is she?" The man whispered.
Gerard's body froze. His thoughts went whizzing by.
"She's m-my..." He didn't know why he was studdering. "She's my gir-. " He stopped and looked fown at the strecher.
"My friend." He finished with a wim of sorrow in his voice.
